I had my AC system serviced about a month ago to prepare for the warm weather. This was my first time using Berry Mechanical for a service. The guy that came out complained a majority of the time that the air handler was in the attic and it was dark and not a lot of room for him to move around. He also had a very hard time finding the filter. He was able to find it after going up 2x and replaced it. We just turned our AC on as it’s warmed up and the AC was barley blowing air. We called them to let them know and we’re told that “there are many things wrong with our system” based on the notes the technician left . Though, none of those concerns were addressed at the time of service. We were told that we’d get a call back, but no one reached back out. Horrible customer service. My husband finally when up to take a look for himself and was surprised to find all the trash the technician left behind and noticed he never cleared the condensate pump drain. After he cleaned it himself our AC is working fine.

Needless to say we will NOT be using Barry mechanical services again.

My house had an unusual hydro-air heating system with a 50 year old air handler and a 29 year old boiler. I spent the summer getting quotes on upgrading this old system. I had multiple HVAC companies come to my house to offer recommendations and give quotes. Some companies ignored what I wanted and quoted what they wanted. One company, after 6 weeks from my first call and two visits to my home never produced a quote.
Allan Berry came to my house a few days after I called Berry Mechanical. He took time to listen to what I wanted and to inspect my unusual system. I told him that I could do a lot of the electrical and demo prep work to make the install smoother. He produced a quote, factoring in my prep work, within 2 days via e-mail, followed by a paper quote a few days later. After I received the quotes, I called Allan to discuss his quote and to discuss other possible options. Allan was generous with his time and his advice even before I decided to sign his quote. After I decided to go with Berry Mechanical, Allan remained available to answer questions re: my prep work. His office staff did a superb job communicating with me before and after the install.
The install crew of 4 men arrived right on time on install day. They were a smooth functioning crew with obvious experience. They professionally installed a heat pump, an air handler, a thermostat, and a hook up to my old boiler to provided emergency backup heat. Install day also was coordinated with a crane service and a two man electrician team that completed the final electrical connections to the new equipment. The entire install took 6 1/2 hours! The smoothness of install day is a testament to the overall professionalism and teamwork of everyone at Berry Mechanical.
P.S. After 2 weeks of living with my new heating system, one element of the system was confusing me. I e-mailed Allan. He called me that day. He was at my house the next day to make a minor adjustment to my system.
If I could give 6 stars to Berry Mechanical, I would.

We used Berry Mechanical for yearly maintenance of our instant hot water boiler and AC for about four years. They installed the systems in our home prior to purchasing, which is why we stuck with them. Just want to caution those who may use them for Rinnai hot water boilers. They barely knew the system (always using the manual and calling other staff members while servicing). This became even more evident when they showed up for yearly maintenance, and left us with no heat or hot water for days. They told me my system had a leak due to our “hard” water corroding through a pipe within the system. When I finally had a Rinnai expert come to the house they found the issue was not “hard” water related, but due to condensation accumulation within the unit, secondary to improper installation and venting!! I needed a completely new system. Over the last four years I have paid Berry Mechanical for numerous repairs, all of which could have been prevented if they were honest. Giving them one star because they always showed up on time, but please use caution when using this business.

Could not be happier with the work they have done in our condo. They were highly recommended by neighbors and we ended up replacing our old inefficient HVAC system. They listened to our needs and designed a great efficient heating, air conditioning and hot water system for our condo. So happy we chose to work with them. They were on time and did a great installation . We highly recommend them.

After the boiler was installed none of the toekick heaters worked. Their solution was flush the system with F3 cleaner for a month (90 hours). After a month the heaters still didn't work and Berry would have to get a price on replacement. I asked my local plumber to take a look first; he quickly determined that there was no electricity running to the heaters and found a switch next to the boiler labeled toekicks, turned it on and the heaters worked fine. I had already gave Berry over 12k for work done and spend 90 hours flushing the system because of their misdiagnosis. They wanted another$400 for what they misdiagnosed. I called three times to explain that it wasn't right for me to pay for their mistake, so I was placed on the do not service list. And several other problems I had to pay another contractor to fix (parts left in the boiler, substantial gas leak when fired, just to name a few). I'm sure Berry is great with new construction but I would highly recommend someone else if it's an replacement.

My experience using Berry Mechanical was an excellent experience from start to finish. Allan Berry was knowledgeable, patient, prompt, available, and extremely detailed. Right from the estimate to the completion of the job Berry Mechanical delivered on beyond expectations as promised. Allan, Bill and the install team, and Diana and the office staff were all available throughout the process and after completion.

The install crew were very understanding and careful during the COVID pandemic. I would rate the experience working with Berry Mechanical as an A+

Needed a long overdue maintenance of our 20 year old HAVAC system. I was provided the details of the fees without asking when making the appointment. I received an email with the name of the technician who was not only on time but early. He was very professional and gave me an honest assessment of the health of the system without recommending unnecessary work. The cost of the work was in line with the estimate and I was emailed an invoice the next day. From start to finish a positive experience and would highly recommend.

We prices out many People and they were very well priced, and very professional to work with. They had to work in some tight areas of our house and got the job done in a day and half. Scott was so nice explained everything. we would highly recommend them.

Allan Berry, the owner, stopped by to provide a quote today. Allan is incredibly knowledgeable and generous with his time. Allan's approach is to take the time he needs to understand the needs of the customers and the potential challenges of the house (our house is an antique). This was by far the best experience we've had in the quote gathering phase of our process.

The whole team was great. Both owner Allan Berry who gave us all the information we needed to make a decision -we already knew Marc Magnifico who has done excellent work for us in the past, and their whole team who knew what they were doing, were very friendly and answered all our questions. And, there is no doubt they will follow up with us in the future if the need arises. Thank you to the whole team!
