We installed 2 Carrier units, one for the main floor and one in my attic. They not only gave the best price (and best available rebates), but also did an amazing and professional job. I tried maybe 5 other companies around all the way from Baltimore to Alexandria in VA. By far I recommend these guys. From the proposal until the cleaning at the end, they made us very happy. I refereed them to a friend who was debating between Carrie and Lennox. He ended up getting Carrier from Maxair based on their fair price and best warranty. They really know their job. One unit is 2 years old and one is less than a year and running really well.

Max Air is a great HVAC company!! I have had the pleasure to talk with them multiple times and they always do top notch work. They explain everything that is going on and make it easy to understand what is needed for repair or replacement. They are friendly, on time and always work hard. If there is a problem they do their best to make it right, and I trust them will all my HVAC needs. Definitely give them a call if you need help!

I reached out to MaxAir early on a Sunday morning, the day before Memorial Day, because our AC wasn't working. They got me on the schedule immediately and the tech arrived shortly thereafter. It took the technician about 30 minutes to diagnose and fix the problem, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I would highly, highly recommend them.

MaxAir was contracted by a home warranty company (through my landlord) on 10/12/12 to repair my broken furnace. After showing them my furnace, the repairmen asked if I was sure this was the furnace, and at that moment, I didn't feel confident that they could repair the problem. They determined that the ignition circuit board and flame sensor needed to replaced. They told me that they needed to order the parts, and they would have to come back another day. On 10/25, nearly 2 frustrating weeks of waiting and trying to schedule, a different MaxAir repairman returned to replace the part and the furnace seemed to be fixed. All seemed well until Sunday, 11/4 we realized our heat was not working again. I emailed my landlord about the problem and asked if he could find another company because I did not have a good experience with MaxAir and didn't feel confident that they could really repair the problem. Because MaxAir started the repair, the landlord preferred to use them again for continuity.

The soonest that MaxAir could come out was Wednesday, 11/7 between the times of 1:00 - 5:00 pm. To make matters worse, there was a Noreaster scheduled to bring wind, rain and snow to the area that night. As with the first appt, I asked that they call me when the repairman was on his way because I couldn't get the entire time off of work, and they agreed. At 2:00 p.m. I receive a call from MaxAir stating that the repairman was at my door. I asked the rep why didn't they call me and she said they called the property manager and my cell phone and left a message. I did not receive a phone call or a message on my voicemail. I asked them if they could wait 15 minutes while I drove home and she said okay. I rushed home only to find that they had left. Of course, this angered me because I left my job and rushed home for no reason. I told the representative that I had rushed home, I have a 9 month old and a 2 year old, and I needed to have the furnaced repaired before the storm. She told me that they were not coming back today. I asked her why didn't she tell me that before I rushed home, and we proceeded to argue. She then ended the call by asking me to find another company. I called my landlord and asked that he send another company to repair the furnace. After I calmed down, I called MaxAir back to speak to a manager. I calmly explained the situation and my frustrations to the manager and her response was "okay."

This entire process from start to finish has been a nightmare. The customer service was poor, the scheduling process was unreasonable, and I still don't have my furnace repair. In addition, I have no idea if they made the problem worse during their first attempt to repair. I would NEVER use this company again, and I would recommend that you don't either.

Maxair installed a gas furnace over Christmas two years ago. They were the only company that would come out. The did an excellent job on the install, and the system ran with no problems. What has prompted me to write this review today is that I called them back for another problem to do with some vinyl lines that they had installed to the condensate pump two years ago. They replaced them for free, saying that they stand behind their work. The technician spent a good two hours in the furnace room and replaced the vinyl line with PVC, etc. This company is a rare example of a stand-up outfit. I don't understand the negative reviews below, but they seem like people with unrealistic expectations and/or incomplete understanding of HVAC mechanics. These guys are legit, good people running a tight operation. Use them with confidence.

Update Oct 4, 2013: We had Maxair come out to install a flue liner for our gas fired water heater. Maxair's estimate came out well below all the others, they showed up on time, did the job, and event went a little extra, installing a new cap and special material where the liner meets the brick to prevent it from breaking down over time.

Basically, every time I have dealt with these people, they have done the job, and done a little extra because they seem to care about the quality of their work. This is how you build customer loyalty.

My AC wasn't working very well the last week or so. I was offered an appointment later that day, but had to wait until the next because of my time constraints. They emailed me basic information about the technician before he came and called when he was on his way. He came, diagnosed the problem - I had a small leak - he added the UV dye and topped off my system. They even applied the diagnostic fee toward the job itself. An hour and a half after they came my system was working well.

In another year or whenever my system leaks a bit more and the leak can be found, I will certainly be calling them back to do the repair!

MaxAir came out to fix a recurring problem that another company had "repaired" while we were under home warranty. They found the actual problem and advised us of the fact that the parts on are unit were still under warranty. The other folks who had been out hadn't bothered. We may have a lemon of a unit but MaxAir did what they could to make it right.

I have had a problem over and over with all kinds of people coming in. MAXAIR not only wowed me with the professionalism but Marvin discovered the issue and put plan in motion to get it repaired right away.

American Home Shield sent them here and my experience with that has been less than desirable on several occasions, this was a huge difference. This company is concerned about how the customer feels. I give them five stars!

Brian is a great tech! Went the extra mile to thoroughly diagnose our problem and suggested options to fit our budget. Thats why we are repeat customers. Great employees including the office staff! Always friendly and helpful😀.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maxair is the complete opposite of amazing. First I'd like to note that when I asked for the HR department it was essentially a run around. After a recent storm it appeared my unit was flooded or shocked. The intial call was pleasant minus a few manners. For instance, its SIR not Mr., but when the technician was late I started to pace. I really find it tremendously unprofessional when a company provides a time frame and exceeds the alloted time. Fortunately, I am a salary employee so it did not create an issue with having to take a day off of work. If my wife had, I would have been livid. The tech, Matt was extremely apologetic. I felt extremely bad for the guy. He seemed worked to the bone! The weather has been extremely warm and you could just feel for the guy. If MaxAir is short on time or techs, all they need to do is pick up a damn phone and call their customer, not scream at me; the client! Needless to say, the inconsistencies within the office are a joke too. Personally, I'd like to let the owner know (If s/he is reading this) perhaps he should hire some true office professionals instead of high school girls. Giggling on the phone in the background... Enough said. I will be in contact with the BBB in regards to my purchase. Not to mention, I have noted this company to the community and to my church. My wife feels this company is nothing more then a scam. Lastly, try to respond to a poor review opposed to having the client call the most unprofessional office and ask for John. (from what I've read, im sure that too will be the reply) I always try to work out my issues with a company rather then defaming their reputation.
