Gowland's Heating & A/C

I was a relatively new customer to Gowland A/C when one of the systems (post Katrina) in my double shot gun expired. There were financial and logistical issues (specifically a crane was needed for installation). Sam Gowland and his staff (particularly Destinee’) were amazing, especially since I was going out of town when the unit ceased to be functional and would not return until a new unit was ready to be put in place.
Superb customer service is alive and well at Gowland A/C.

Poor workmanship and poor customer service.

I have had multiple problems with Gowland's Heating and Air Conditioning since they installed new central AC systems in my home.
The first issue occurred during installation(I was away from home and not able to supervise the installation - big mistake). In the attic of my house they ran a copper freon line straight across the walkway approx 3 feet above the floor instead running the line along the floor which would have used an extra $4.00 in materials). Now, every time I go in my attic to store or retrieve something I have to either step over this copper line(3 feet above the floor), or crawl under it.
The next thing to happen within 2 years of the units being installed was the main unit(I had two high efficiency units installed - approx 19k job) starting to not cool as well as it should and finally stopped cooling at all. I called Gowland's, the owner came out, found a freon leak on the outside unit and said "Oh, one of my guys must not have welded this joint properly because here is where the problem is." And "OBTW, if you had purchased the annual maintenance plan we would have found this leak long before all the freon leaked out."
So, I purchased the annual maintenance plan(which you know is a money scam, but I wanted my units to heat and cool properly for my family since I travel alot and they are home alone.)
After purchasing and paying for the annual maintenance plan, I can not get them to come out and perform their inspections. They have scheduled 3 appointments and missed all three with various reasons.
I am very unsatisfied with this company. If you are considering purchasing a new AC unit or simply looking for service - do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. You will save yourself a lot of time and headaches.
