Today I was in need of some ductwork and other a/c parts. A friend told me to go to baker distributing company, he said they are nice people and will help you with figuring out exactly what you need. So I called to be sure that baker would sell to individuals and not just contractors. The man on the phone was very professional and polite. So I went to baker. The attendant started off being rude to me and spoke to me very condescendingly throughout. I went to set a part on the counter and he snapped at me in a rude manner saying not to set the part on his counter. I explained that I needed ductwork for a 1000 sqft house, the house has 6 vents that have 8" ductwork connected, a supply and return with 16" ductwork. I asked how many bags of each ductwork should I buy. He then very condescendingly said how is he supposed to know, he even pointed out that he is not a mathematician. He asked who is doing the work. I said a friend. He then said that I need to get with my friend and do some measuring. He was unnecessarily rude to me. Upon leaving there, I went to R.E. MICHEL company and also Johnstone Supply, and might I add that both companies are excellent, very good service, and between the two had all the products I needed.
