I had my winter tune-up service visit yesterday and it reminded me how much I have come to rely on Accutemp’s annual maintenance plan. I signed up several years ago because my aging unit required some maintenance every year to keep doing the job. For that reason, it wasn’t as big a surprise when it finally gave out without warning. The estimator came out the same day and measured and quoted another system, presenting me alternatives based on efficiency ratings and other features. I made my selection and the crew was on site the NEXT day for installation. The money I saved due to the preferred customer discount on this whole house unit more than paid for my annual fees for the next few years.
Even with a new system, I feel like I get value from these biannual visits. The heating/airconditioning unit is the most expensive system in my home. With the humidifier and the electronic air cleaner(which I love for cutting down the dust in the house) we depend on it almost every day for our comfort. I appreciate the testing of air flows and temperatures in different parts of the house I moved from a mentality of ‘if its not broke don’t fix it” to keeping everything in good repair, just like you would do with your teeth at the dentist.
I appreciate having the customer relationship with Accutemp and would recommend the annual plan to any customer.
We have been customers of AccuTemp for a few years. They’re dependable and easy to work with. Today we had our furnace checked by their technician name Bobby. He was thorough and made some preventative recommendations that will save us money down the road. Thank you Bobby!
I have been doing business with Doug Dorsey at Accutemp for 10 plus years. This is a honest Man. I am pretty picky when it comes to having something done. He has always been truthful in anything he says. Several years ago. I had a issue with my Air Conditioner. They came out and got it to work. It happened again. {Not their Fault}. So. Doug came out . After some thinking. He gave me another Brand New Air Conditioner at No Cost to me. What other Company would do that? He also has Good People working for him .Two of his Techs came out the other day for a checkup and cleaning for my Air Conditioner. They did it correctly. Also they were very Polite and fun to talk to. These fellows names was. "Logan" and "Justin". Could have not asked for a better bunch of fellows. There are a lot of company`s out there that do this. BUT. I am speaking from past times when they were here. They are "HONEST" People to work with. When I first started looking for a New system I called this other Company first. I will not mention names. Right away I told them my Air Quit. So they wanted to charge me a bunch of money to just come and look at it. These guys are also local. Years earlier. I had them to come out to check and clean my furnace. That was a Joke. When they left. I took the covers off the furnace and cleaned it myself. This is what you face out there today. I am known here in Bullitt County for also being honest in what I say. I did Professional Photography for over 35 years. I know what it means to be honest. One more thing. When my Old unit went out. I looked thru the Phone Book we get here in Bullitt Count. I came across this page. There was a full size picture of Doug Dorsey. I said to myself. This Guy looks honest. I called then. Back then this Tech answered the phone. I told him what was going on. He did NOT SAY. We have to come out and charge you. He tried to see over the phone if he could do something. No luck. So they came out. Without charging me anything. My old unit was shot. So went and got a whole new system. Inside and out. They did a great job. I am sure if you are reading this. You know how I feel about this Company. Please trust me. If you need anything in what I got. Get these people. I could say a lot more good things about Doug Dorsey and his company. I am going to leave my Name and email. If you would like to ask me some questions. My email is: [email protected]. My name is Walter Kalewski. Thanks for reading this. May God Bless you and our Country.
In 2009, I had a new unit installed into my home as the previous unit was struck by lightening and completely destroyed. The unit has worked fine for the past 9-10 years. On November 19, 2009, the unit was not heating as usual. Serviceman, Jason, was dispatched to my home for evaluation. Appears the heat flame sensor was the culprit. Jason attempted to clean the previous part, and although it continued to work-"hit-n-miss"-he suggested a replacement. He left the previous flame sensor in case of a problem as it would "get me through"until it could be replaced or looked at. Price $289.00. Advance almost a year, this year, on January 2, 2020 (almost a year later), same situation occurred, however, due to my lack of knowledge of HVAC issues, I contacted Accutemp for assistance. This time, serviceman, Bob, was dispatched to my home. He arrived on time, and was courteous. Same diagnostic problem:flame sensor had gone bad. In less than 10 minutes, heat was resonating throughout my home. I had explained to Bob that it had been almost precisely a year since I had the flame sensor replaced. I also explained that I had watched him and previous serviceman pull out some steel wool, clean the tip of the sensor, replace, and unit worked properly., and explained how the previous serviceman had replaced the flame sensor, and left the old one atop the unit for future reference (or use). The charge this time around, $198.00. ($91.00) difference for the same exact service. After he left, I removed the cover of the unit to find the previous part that I paid for, the flame sensor, was gone. The part that serviceman, Jason, left a previous year earlier was now gone. I do not know if Bob put the old part in the unit, and charged an outrageous price, or if he put in a new unit, but the old part is not where it was when he arrived. He either took it with him, or put it back in my unit, and charged a fee. Doing some research, I discovered how to fix the issue in the future, clean my own flame sensor, or replace the part altogether. You can purchase FOUR of the flame sensors for approximately $15 bucks or less, and in less than ten minutes, have the same outcome without having to contact HVAC serviceman, Accutemp, etc. and saving a couple hundred bucks. This does NOT sit well with me at all. Shame on me for not doing the research beforehand and saving myself a couple hundred bucks, but shame on Accutemp for charging outrageous fees for relatively simple procedures. What a way to make returning customers feel confident they are NOT being taken advantage of. Do yourself a favor. Do research on youtube for symptoms you are experiencing BEFORE contacting Accutemp or any HVAC serviceman and save yourself a few hundred bucks. Never again! If I do have issues in the future, you can bet I will contact another local HVAC contractor (after doing my research) and will NOT be using Accutemp for my HVAC service needs just because of the appearance of questionable acts. Why would you charge customers huge prices when the fix was simple, just a few moments of cleaning, and all returns to normal functioning. I can see paying a service fee, but almost $2-300, outrageous. Do your research!
I am very pleased with the installation of my new furnace and AC unit. The technician Logan has performed preventive maintenance and maintained maximum operational effectiveness in these units since being installed. Thanks Logan and Accutemp!, I. Elliott
Accutemp was referred to me by a family member and I could'nt be more happier. I purchased both heating & air conditioning. I thought they were very well priced and the service by the employees was excellent. I will surely recommend Accutemp to everyone I can!
I had a great experience with everyone I interacted with at Accutemp. From the technicians at my home to the staff at their office on the phone, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Pricing was fair and the service was top notch.
Just used them for the first time with a tune up coupon. They were able to fit me in the next day. Jeff the technician was prompt & courteous. Will definitely be a repeat customer.
The ACCUTEMP people provide prompt professional service. They are knowledgable, experienced, and explain the process while offering expert advice. Bob who services my furnace is outstanding, reliable, and trustworthy.
