They have been on time for each visit, polite, explain situations and solutions with very fair pricing, and have fixed all of the issues with my geothermal system that the other company told me were "normal". I cannot say enough good things about E & J. I had another company install a Mitsubishi mini-split system in my home last year. One of the units developed a problem with the fan and was not blowing well.
I called the owner of the original company who installed it (Ryan Langstraat of Custom Climates). Ryan is the owner and while he did a very good job installing it, it became clear he was not willing to service it after the install. He said he did not know when he could get to it because he was so busy. He just left me hanging.
I contacted E & J along with two other companies. All three companies stated they could be here within 3 days. But it was E & J who said they could come out the same day.
They were true to their word and a man came out and spent two hours assessing the problem. Later I was called by a woman named Cat Dolphin from E & J. She took care of everything for me including submitting the warranty paperwork and following up keeping me posted.
Within the week the parts had arrived. A service repair person was out promptly, installed the new parts and then started to leave before I could pay him. When I asked him how much I owed, he stated that he wasn't aware of anything other than fixing the problem.
I was a business owner for more than 30 years and I learned as years went by that you really could not trust people to pay you because there are those who will avoid paying thinking only of themselves. I promptly called Cat Dolphin at E & J and she stated she would get me out a bill.
I am SOOOOOOO very impressed with the work this company did... with their service... with their level of professionalism and how it reminded me of how things were done years ago.
I will be contacting E & J for any future work including adding another mini-split system. These people are GREAT!
I would encourage all others to write good reviews. It seems most people only like to complain. But we need to be supportive of those businesses that treat us well.
E & J is at the top of my list and I am so fortunate to have found them.
By the way... I love my Mitsubishi Mini-split system. It cools beyond my expectations and saves money by not cooling the rooms I am not using. What a great product!

We called E& J electrical for electrical help after the Derecho because they were recommend by a neighbor.
We were told it would be $98 an hour including driving time. We share a pole with our neighbor so we hired them to do the work for both of us.
We got a bill for $1735.00, 14 hours of labor. We were told that was for 2 employees, so we were charged $98 per employee. We were not told it would be $98 per employee doing the work. We were just told it would be $98.
Our neighbor was charged for 21 hours of labor.
So 35 hours of labor for 1 electrical pole & 2 employees
This is price gouging in my opinion, and the electrician asked to borrow our ladders.

The Tech guy was great.. The reason why I am leaving a 1 star review is because when I called the company due to needing our geothermal serviced, they said they needed a CC on file.. So I provided my card information to set up the app... NOTHING was stated to me nor provided in writing that our card would be charged automatically.. Next thing I know My credit card is being charged WITHOUT MY CONSENT!! Called customer service only for the gal to tell me There can be miscommunication between their billing and scheduling..... I will not be doing business with them again if they are going to be THIS reckless with my payment information!!

We live in Cedar Rapids. They answered their phone at 4:20 despite closing soon and helped walk me through things to try before doing a house call. They worked with my busy schedule to come and help repair my heat. They were prompt and walked me through everything! Very nice people with great prices. I highly recommend them.
