Initial appointment went well. Once the work has been completed, I will update accordingly. I have tried contacting them to get an update on the install of my replacement furnace, no response today.

Techs arrived this morning, did a nice job and most important I have heat! However, still not excited about paying an additional $115 for an “electrical upgrade” when all that was needed was to connect a few wires, no new conduit, no new wire or by-pass switch. I was also told my amount due was about $200 more than originally stated by my home warranty company. United reluctantly settled for the price I was told.

Make sure you have everything in writing and you get a copy!

United installed a furnace and air conditioner for me. I began having issues with the new furnace they installed. I called to have a tech come to look at it 4 times and never received a call back. I contacted another company to come look at it. The tech from the second company expressed concern because there was no filter holder installed and the filter was pulled right up against the motor. He let me know the furnace was not up to code. I called again to try to talk to someone about the issue and still have not gotten a call back about the issue. I ended up having to spend another $1000 to fix the installation issues caused by the poor work ethic of this company that does not stand behind their work.

Do not do business with this company. I purchased a Groupon for a furnace inspection & cleaning. The owner came out 11/9/18 and right away said that my inspection and cleaning would not be covered under the Groupon. It would cost me $348 because of the type of cleaning needed and that it would be a more thorough cleaning. I told the owner that my air conditioner is pretty much shot and I would be needing to look for one before summer, and if they had any good specials on furnaces and air conditioning packages I would consider purchasing a package as my furnace which functions just fine would be coming up on 15 years old and my air conditioner is shot. Without hesitation he tells me that that he some really good packages that wont last long and would be $4400 for the furnace and air conditioner, and $1500 install. I asked several times if it was a good model and had a good high efficiency and if it would accommodate for my 5600 square feet home. He was insistent that he had the same model in his home and it would be and it was a bargain price. I kept stressing that sounded like a good deal but I dont want to put in a low grade model and I want to make sure it is sufficient for the size of my home. He assured me it was a good model and it is definitely sufficient. We scheduled an install for the following Tuesday. He said I would have to put a $599 deposit to hold it though and they were going fast. I put the deposit down that morning. I trusted what he told me. Later that day I text him asking for the model #s of the units I put the deposit on and he gave them to me the next day. I did some exploring online and checking with friends and the models for the air conditioner and furnace were horrible low grade and going for $1000 or less for each. I text him immediately and told him that I want to explore other options that were better and higher quality. He said he could put some packages together. I asked for him to refund my deposit and he said that he would. He never got back to me on the better packages and I reached out multiple times to find out the status of the packages and my deposit. He said that it had been sent. He could not credit my credit card but sent a check. I waited patiently for weeks but never received it and gave up trying to contact him as he then started to ignore my messages. I disputed this with my credit card company and they said this merchant never responded to their requests so finally a few days ago the credit card company put a permanent credit on my card. And I never got the so called refund check that he assured me he sent. I am a really loyal person and customer to those who treat my well. I praise those that do a great job and tell all my friends. This company not only lost MY business for a new furnace and air conditioner, but I will be sure to tell everyone I know about the experience I had with them. Shameful way to conduct business! Do NOT do business with them!

They installed my furnace without a filter! Who does that. And now I can't. Put one in because there is a screw in the way. I am waiting for them to fix this. Also before I got the new furnace I had a tune up and they said it was fine. Then it went out a month later and I was told.it was unsafe to use. I think that is a scam. Waiting 2 weeks got them to fix the install and he texts me back only when I threaten to sue. Bad customer service. Then a guy calls.me today saying he can't make it and I already took off work. I told him someone better come and he tells me didn't my parents teach me that arguing gets no.one anywhere. I had to explain if they put a filter in the first place I wouldn't be in this situation. The owner did have someone rectify the situation.

The owner of United Heating has no business acumen. Dealing with him was very frustrating. During last winter's Polar vortex we had to use space heaters for three weeks and he never kept in contact as to status of parts or replacement of furnace. Now issues with AC & when appointments were scheduled he never kept in contact. This he said he would be at our house beterekem 12 to 9. I made trip back from Davenport to meet gom. Never showed up or called as to why he waa a no show. His office called to say he would be by Friday morning at 8. Never received a call as to why he would be delayed. Again I had driven in from Davenport for this repair appointment. A person from company arrived at 3. I missed 2 days of work only to be charged $312.75. his company should pay me for loss of my time & travel expense. These 2 instances were not the first time we have received shoddy treatment. I highly suggest never purchasing a furnace or AC from United, not worth the grief.

I have had very good experiences with United Heating and Cooling. We initially had them do a call out Labor Day weekend 2015. They did not charge an extra service fee and the tech had the parts on hand to correct the problem (bad capacitor.) I appreciated the tech's detailed explanation and not talking down to me about AC maintenance.
This past November the furnace inducer motor went out on our 10 year old system. The tech was honest with what was wrong with the furnace. Showed me how to check the error code (blinking lights on the unit) and gave me options. Due to the age of the system, Mid American rebates and tax credits it made sense to replace everything.

Pros from my past experiences:
- Honest techs
- Not pushing to make sales or up sell.
- Fast work

Cons:
- When scheduling general check ups, they give you a range of time. Makes it hard to plan
- I have had to wait a few hours for a call back.

Do not let this company into your home! This is a classic bait and switch operation. This company has an “F” rating with the Better Business Bureau. I scheduled a tune up for my AC and Heater because I had a Groupon. When they arrived they said they couldn’t accept the Groupon because my system was in such bad shape. They said I would need to perform $500 in repairs before the system would be in good enough shape to perform the tune up. I agreed to perform the needed repairs for $500, so we scheduled an appointment the following week. But when they came the next week they took the entire HVAC apart, and then said it was actually going to cost $2,000, not $500 as we had originally discussed. They said my only choices were to spend $2,000 on the repairs, or do nothing at all and pay their labor charges for taking the HVAC apart. BAIT. AND. SWITCH. So I told them to do nothing, and the guy wanted $348 for “work already done”. The only other thing they did was clean the condenser coils on my AC compressor, which is only a $50 job at most. Since they did absolutely nothing to my actual HVAC unit (except take it apart), they basically wanted $348 for cleaning my compressor coils. And they didn’t even do a good job cleaning the coils, when he left there was still tons of debris piled up inside my AC compressor: leaves, rocks, trash, etc. I agreed to the $348 charge just to make the problem go away, but when the charge hit they actually took $385, which is $37 more than what I had authorized. When I called the owner to complain he said he would mail me a partial refund; but nothing ever came. I was stuck paying $385 for about $50 worth of work, and I had to get my money back for the Groupon since they wouldn’t even accept it. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

DO NOT USE! Horrible service! I purchased a Groupon for Heating and Cooling services. I scheduled my first appointment and took the afternoon off to be home during the hours of 2-4pm, when they said they would be at my house. I got a call from the servicer around 7pm saying he wouldn't make it and to reschedule the following day for sometime between 5-6pm. This time nobody showed up, and none of my calls to their company (happening on a daily basis now) have been responded to. All I want is a refund. I've been asking for one for over a month. I have contacted the BBB regarding their service and hope something works. Until then, I will continue to share how horrible this company is to work with.

Bought a Groupon to service my furnace. Called and got an appointment for them to come out between 10am-noon. 1215 and I called to find out where they were at. I got their answering service and was told I would get a call back. No one called me back. So I called the following day, and again I was told they would call me back. Weeks later and still no call back. Thankfully Groupon gave me my money back. Good luck if you try to use their service. Hope you don't waste a day off like me!

Dustin advertised a trailer for sale on a social website featuring the name of this business. We agreed on a purchase price and a time to meet; however, Dustin never showed up, would not take my calls, and did not acknowledge or reply to my texts. I even called the business number and they stated he was out on a job and would be calling me - he did not. I finally got him to text me back and he stated his wife had medical issues and that I had talked to his answering service & they are supposed to tell everybody what they told me....that he was out on a job & he would be calling me back. This is a terrible business model. He ultimately said he was sorry for the inconvenience, but if you choose to use this company be prepared for dissappointment.
