AVOID THIS BUSINESS IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME OR SANITY!!! * Twice they have not shown for scheduled service appointments. the did not call to alert us they would not show up. * They are unable to track down issues. A duct work issue we have has taken more than 7 service calls. The issue is still not resolved. * They are unable to successfully submit a manufacturer’s rebate form. First rebate submission Affordable made a mistake and the rebate was denied. I had to escalate the issue to Ray Vasser (VP of Operations) for the rebate to be resubmitted. It's been 10 weeks since the second submission and I cannot get anyone at Affordable to return my call. I've left messages with Ray, emailed Ray, left voicemails with Jody who does the rebates and spoken to a few others in the office. Nobody knows anything or will not call back. I've waited over 5 months for a $300 rebate and I fear that money is long gone. * They do NOT value you as a customer. * They have serious communication issues within the business and to their customers. Even the simplest of issues requires 3-4 phone calls.
If you have a VERY simple HVAC issue and do not care if your appointment is kept, Affordable has some very kind servicemen and they do good work. If you have a complex issue that needs to be resolved, if you need any sort of customer service, if you will be submitting a rebate form or if you simply want to give your business to a company that values its customers…. AVOID AFFORDABLE HEATING AND COOLING!!!
100% terrible service. Great guy that sold it to us and help us understand what were buying and why and what best suited us. (Dave Lennox signature model) And I'm a guy that understand that even new things have problems some times. I still expect good service when I call and set up a time to fix it. Not a day and a half later one time. And not 3hrs and 10 minutes later either. Maybe a heads up call saying were running 2 hrs late would be nice even. But instead I wasted my only day off this week waitin on bad service just to wind up fixing a small issue myself that happen durning the install 14 mouths. But my biggest issue with this hole mess is if I have a 130pm appointment and there back up and can't make till 430-5. Any work after 5 they charge u and overtime rate. So I would have to pay there over time rate because the tec is 3.5 hrs late to my 130pm appointment!!!!!! So to sum this up, I'm still beleave I have a good unit I bought because of a knowledgeable sale person that gave me options with out pushing me into buy, but stay away from there service, not good at all.
They sent 2 people out to splice in a 2 foot piece of wire outside on my AC unit. It took 1 guy 20 min while the other guy watched. $80 standard trip/whatever charge, and $160 labor, and no parts charge obviously. The bill said labor @30 min so they don't round up to the nearest hour but bill in 30 min intervals. That means they bill at a rate of $160 /hr per person and then for me sent 1 extra guy to watch so I got billed labor at rate of $320 /hr essentially
I complained via Chat questionaire and also the Email form on their website and haven't heard a peep. Will change review from 1 to 5 Stars if they credit me back the $80 in labor.
Update based on reply: Your 45 min may be correct but they were in the truck probably for 25 minutes. Your tech's were running an hour ahead of schedule based on what we agreed on (Noon) and we managed to rearrange our schedules and texted them that 11:15 would work so if they showed up before that then that's on them. We accomodated. As for flat rate billing that's even worse in this case. 1 Guy cost $160 for 20 minutes. That's an hourly converted rate of $550 /hr (160x3 + 70).. . Ridiculous for a 2 foot wire splice. We'll i know what contact to delete from my phone..."Affordable". Not even the top criminal lawyer in the country makes that an hour.
~$250 to identify, remove, and replace a busted capacitor (part replacement selling for at most 17 bucks online) for an external air conditioner unit (included in that figure are the standard fees - that was the total cost I paid them. Do with that info what you will - I just wanted to share data for their "Affordable" name claim, so other people can decide for themselves rather than simply trust the brand name alone.) Was able to schedule an appearance in one workday after calling, they arrived the day they said they would, got the job done in under ten minutes.
The 3 of them worked really hard without taking a break time until they arrived, installed the new AC, and left. I could feel the level of the company's manpower management system.
The Affordable crew was helpful and fast. I called this morning and they were able to come within 2 hours. Pat accessed the problem and the part was delivered very quickly and efficiently.
Excellent efficient crew. They protected the carpet, took off their shoes, explained to me well. Left the place as clean as it was when they arrived. Great guys!
