Aaron & Trecker are great! I had to use their emergency service because my heater broke in the middle of the night. Marcin came over and fixed the issue right away. Very professional and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend these guys!
Today I learned I'm not even good enough for a quote. It would appear that if Patrick Carr, Sales Manager, can't give you a nice upsell to their particular brand of equipment, he doesn't want you wasting his time.
And that's FINE...except that's not what he told me when I called.
I called Aaron & Trecker to come give me a quote on a residential AC and furnace replacement. For reference, quotes on this job are running in the range of $8,000 - $10,000 so far. So this isn't some piddly little job that isn't worth putting any effort into.
I was clear with Patrick on the phone BEFORE booking an appointment of my interest in Goodman brand products and why. On the phone he was glowing about Goodman. "Great products, I have it in my own home, no problems in 8 years." OK so wonderful, come give me a quote, we're all having a good time so far.
No mention at that time of "We only sell a certain brand, if you want Goodman God bless but we won't do it." I thought these were probably the guys I'd book if I had to bet on it.
So Patrick came out yesterday and took a look at things and we discussed some of the options. Now he wants to talk me out of Goodman, now it's not so fun and we don't wanna be air conditioner twins and have Goodman at both our houses.
He knew I was getting multiple quotes and kept asking "What are you hoping we can do for you that others can't?" I told him on the phone and in person, I'm looking for the job to be done by trustworthy pros at a fair price, and I have certain products that I want. Hence my interest in the product line I discussed with him on the phone.
Never did we discuss a price I was/wasn't willing to pay for the all-in job. Never did my "expectations" say I wanted the cheapest piece of junk that rolls of the line someplace. I'm planning to install good, 2-stage equipment for both furnace and AC.
I'm not the guy who says, "Don't try to sell me nothin', do the job all wrong at my rock bottom price!" The pros say I need certain things like new electrical shut-off, new coolant lines, modifications to return air, I believe them. That's why I'm only quoting out established companies with good reviews and not some guy's cousin's buddy who will do it for half the price.
This morning Patrick emailed me saying that, "...after discussing with you your expectations, I don't believe my company is a good fit for your project."
That's a nice way of saying, "We think you're too cheap to bother working with."
He didn't even give me a quote. Zero effort to explain why they don't strive to be the cheapest, but here's what my investment would be worth.
Well, he doesn't know what he doesn't know. So far NOBODY will sell me Goodman appliances regardless of what I want so it looks like I won't even end up buying that brand. But everyone else is putting the effort in to submit a quote. The lowest bidders haven't been very thorough, so I don't trust them to do the job right. Odds are I'm not going to book the lowest bid.
But I won't be working with Aaron & Trecker because they made it clear I'm not worth the time it takes to submit a quote.
Have had A & T take care of my heating and A/C for over 20 years. Always professional and reliable. Can’t go wrong with them. Today’s tech did a great job. Thanks for the good work!
Replaced Water Heater: The guys who showed up were very professional and polite. They took care to make sure the hardwood wasn't scratched by laying down a tarp, and they also were careful up and down the stairs. They answered all my questions and finished the job well within the allotted time. I would definitely recommend them if you need work done on your HVAC or water heater.
The entire staff from the office personal to all the Tech's are very knowledgeable and informative.
Tony who came to my house was very professional, diagnosed the problem had the part on his truck which he install and I was back and running in no time and also at a very reasonable price. 🙂
That's why I have used Aaron and Trecker for over 30 years... Thanks again for the GREAT service.
Aaron & Trecker does an excellent job servicing your heating and cooling needs. They will not try get you to commit to work that is not needed like a lot of other companies. Straightforward and honest. A small business with a solid work ethic.
The people at Aaron & Trecker are always very thorough and professional. We have a service contract with them for fall and spring maintenance. Everyone who comes to the house is polite and they always explain what is needed before doing it.
Pat, Dan, and Aaron did an excellent job on installing our new AC and condenser coil. Pat has a lot of experience and gave some great advice for sizing, efficiency, running air circulation, etc. He answered all of our questions and we highly recommend their service.
I am extremely impressed with the late night service done on my air conditioner that went out during a recent extended hot spell. Jim found the problem quickly and fixed it. He was polite and listened to my concerns. Thanks!
Have been using Aaron Trecket for at least 30 plus years. Purchased a/c furnace units from them. Exception service and warranty honoring. This was part of yearly service plan. Tec was on time, called about 15 minutes before arrival, polite, professional . Wore mask (virus safety ). Tecs from Aaron are career professionals, often having been with company for years. Gentleman servicing today was one of tecs who helped originally install this a/c unit.
Now fall furnace check. Again, tec very thorough, professional. Tec noted areas that could be future problem, but emphasized all was still safe. Just to make me aware. Did not try to high pressure to replace, only noted for future monitoring.
Good, polite and experienced tecs, no high pressure trying to sell, and competitive prices when have purchased units through them. When I have bought my own filters, tecs installed without charge. They fully honored any warranty (infact once resurched a warrenty that I thought had expired saving me thousands).
Am aware any review can be sometimes biased by relation with vender, but with Aaron suggest if you need someone to buy from or a service what they provide, they are more than worth considering.
