A formerly great company. HVAC Techs have all quit and left the company. Owner is trying to run it by himself but is now incompetent. Totally screwed up a very recent and expensive installation. Had to call a competing HVAC company to set things right. Money for nothing.
We used this company in 2021 to put in a mini-split unit. This year (2022) we decided to put in a second unit and used Acu-Temp since we were happy with them the first time. Not happy with the service this year. Very sloppy work, didn't even pass inspection the first time, and the owner was rude. We will have to redo the outside covers to make them professional looking. Also, there was an issue with one of the bedrooms units cooling and company owner was never able to figure what was wrong. Turns out our son had to do that. And Jim never checked back to see if we were satisfied with the job. Finally, we wanted to set up a maintenance appointment for our original units. Jim cleaned the filters and charged $100. Nothing else was done. Have to hire a second company to do the job properly! Update - Issue one - the leaking in the laundry room was serviced twice without resolving the issue. We hired another company to come in and fix the problem. The refrigerant pipes weren't insulated leading to condensation and ultimately drywall damage.
Second point - the ac is main bedroom didn't work properly and the new company determined within minutes the issue was settings on the remote control were set incorrectly.
Third point - No maintenance check list was provided to tell us what was performed. Very unprofessional business model. We have to hire the other company to come in and do a complete annual service and provide written check
Finally, after spending over $10K for a job, you would think the company would check to see if we had any issues. Customer care just takes a phone call.
First impressions were encouraging. Communication regarding technician(s) identity and schedule for system installation (3/24/2020) was impressive. We couldn’t have been more satisfied. That satisfaction dissipated rapidly when the first issue with the system occurred (5/5/2022). The system wouldn’t maintain a set temperature. The tech quickly determined that a dirt robber’s nest had shorted out the low pressure switch and charged $215.00 stating that call-out and labor weren’t covered by warranty (even though warranty document clearly covers parts and labor for 10 years). The system stopped less than 2 hours after he left. The next day Jim, who I think is the owner, came to address the issue and other than informing me about the computer system providing overlapping system safeguards and only offered a way to reboot the system to get it to cool until it shut down again. Jim was rude and adversarial when I attempted to reach a better resolution than a reboot. When I called to inform Jim that the system was still having problems he did not answer and has yet to ever return my call/voicemail. This forced me to seek recourse with another repair company and cost additional money as a result (which again should all be covered with the 10 year warranty). If anyone reading this review is considering purchasing something from Acu-Temp I strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere. Your satisfaction with them will be short lived. Their customer service is some of the worst I have EVER experienced.
I can not thank accu temp enough for servicing my ac unit. These people jumped thru hoops to get my ac fixed after another company couldn't/ wouldn't fix it.. Courtney, Jim and Justin were all fantastic and I couldn't ask for better service. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend their service
Used this company for a few years without issues until we had a drain line and Plenum rebuilt and installed. After 8 months this things leaked and caused nothing but issues. After many failed attempts, no call no show by the owner Jim, and missed diagnosis on their own work, we were literally forced to call in another hvac company, due to the time sensitive issues we were having, drywall , carpet and wood damage, and black mold. The other company took video and lots of pictures of the damage accutemp CAUSED, and the work they didn't do even after being paid in full. It was obvious what was going on and Im not even trained in this line of work. Our ceiling fell because the plenom, and I quote "was rigged, shotty , had a lot of gaps and wasn't even attached to the handler causing it to leak large amounts of water" due to freezing and defrosting of the handler into the duct work. For several months this occured without resolution from the other company. For 2 weeks I battled with accutemp to please just fix it. I was disgusted by the things their own employee said about accutemp and their practices. It wasnt comforting since we were having such major issues. The drainline that was to be completely rebuilt by accutemp wasn't, and just hooked up to an old existing line that didn't work. So it caused backups. This line was supposed to be new and installed by accutemp. Accutemp stated it worked fine even for having elevations and bad pitches?! They disconnected the secondary drain line, so there was no back up drainage. Accutemp actually capped off the secondary line per the other companpanys discovery. After several failed attempts cancelations, no shows and mis guided work, I made a complaint on the BBB and was accused by accutemp of being a person that can't be pleased out of their hundreds of service jobs in so many words. That statement didnt shock me since the work accutemp did was so bad , and they refused to fix and diagnose their own issues properly. It took the new company one day to fix and diagnose something that another company caused and couldn't fix or repair in a months time. By the way the duct work and supposed new line was only 8 months old. I may have had to come up with the money to correct it being on disability and all, but at least I now know that I have a reputable, professional company that is actually experienced and quality driven, unlike Accutemp. Do not have this company install any duct work or anything else for that matter without checking behind them. Theyre nice and polite to your face, but do you dirty in the long run.I got screwed don't be the next casualty of bad work and service! The new company said its hard to be pleased when you have this going on in your home. I should have never had to deal with this, and it should be made right by the original company, accutemp. At least a refund and admissions they did a bad job, and that it wasn't just a cranky customer. I have had many other construction jobs done in the past 2 years and you'll see my reviews are satisfaction driven. Unlike this company.
I would recommend Justin the A/C Tech to anyone that needs service on their AC. Justin was Awesome he is so respectful, kind and knowledgeable, you just don’t find that kind of service anymore. He did a Great job! 5 stars!
Very responsive and informative when we were getting quotes to have our AC and Furnace replaced. They were the most expensive out of 4 quotes we received for similar units and ultimately we did not go with the because of their sales technique. Bob was a bit pushy and we did not like how he disparaged other companies during the quoting process. He also was not respectful of our time and when we indicated we had a meeting at 3pm - he was still here about 10 minutes past that time.
I purchased a Mitsubishi mini split from Acu-Temp. Jim, the owner, came out to my home to do a site survey and provided a quote. The AC was installed within a week. The installation team was professional and had the AC working within 3 hours of arriving at my home for the installation.
Thanks to Jim and his team, my garage gym is now cool when we workout.
I recommend Acu-Temp without hesitation. They know what they are doing in the AC space; and their service level is excellent. Jim also introduced me to Tony at Bird Electrical to install a 240V service for the AC. The 240V installation went off without any issues.
On a 5-star scale, with 5 being the highest, I would rate Jim, Acu-Temp, and his installation team 5 stars. Bird Electrical deserves a 5 star rating as well.
I called after hours and after a power outage and my fan in my air handler was not working. I got the install tech JOSH, who, unlike other companies, listened to my concern, suggested possible self solutions and even looked up my warranty, which he 100% did not have to do. After our 10 minute call, his suggestion worked and got it running again. I can not begin to tell you how much that 10 minute call meant to me.
Before I called, I was stressed, frustrated and within 10 min, he talked to me like a person and was even laughing with me. I will 100% call this company again for ANY repairs or concerns, because if that's how I was treated at 8PM on a Sunday night on a holiday weekend, I can't imagine how nice and friendly they would be on a "normal" work day! Thanks Josh for your help, kindness and understanding. BZ for the job well done.
Waited all day for them to show up AFTER our two hour window they gave us only to be here five minutes and tell us there is nothing they can do today and we'll have to wait until tomorrow, when it's 85 degrees in our house. Cool.
Update** three days later still no part and no one can tell us where it is or when it's coming👍 the tech was good at least. The front desk girl was just rude.
