Of the 4 quotes we got, John was the only one who spent enough time to get to know our place in detail, the current system, and ask about our preferences. In addition, he was the only one who was confident enough to deliver central air to our 3rd floor; everyone else wanted to do a split unit. Lastly he delivered on his estimated turnaround time for installation, which was full 5 days faster than any other quote we received. In installation, he and his team found some piping that was unnecessary / not efficiently venting air, and they kindly rerouted and removed the unnecessary piping.

John and the team were fantastic. We consulted with a number of providers before working with Eco Fresh, given there were some complications with the job. It was ultimately an easy choice. John was thoughtful as we navigated the decision process and helped us understand the various decision points along the way. The team that arrived on installation day was on-time, diligent and did a great job. John stayed late to help us successfully install our Nest thermostats and has checked in on us to make sure that everything was working properly. John and his team installed a split AC/Heat system in our house this past July and (3 months later) we could not be happier. The job was done on time and on budget, but what made this company stand out was John’s attention to the specific challenges of our house and his promise to get it right. He was very knowledgeable and gave us straight answers to all our questions. In the end I can say we are 100% satisfied with how it all turned out. The last few months in a cool house have been such a huge improvement for our family. We weren’t sure about jumping into a splt system but we are so glad we met John and did it.

John is really great. He's extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything clearly so you understand your options and all the costs associated. He installed our AC a few years ago and it's been working great. We are getting ready to move and after a home inspection there was an issue found. I called John and he came out the very next day to check it out. He changed our filter and assessed the situation so we knew exactly how to proceed. He didn't charge us for any of this. He even provided a detailed report to share with our buyers. I would highly recommend him.

So, in a few short minutes John managed to save me several hundred dollars (at minimum) by diagnosing a problem the previous technician (not HVACnerd) had created. I was previously told I was going to have to replace some parts, but instead John figured out that they had just switched two wires so the fix is fast and easy! I so appreciated the time he took to explain - and draw - my whole set up, and he also showed me how to help my system work a little better using my existing Nest units. He was super nice and knowledgeable -- I would 100% recommend and trust him to fix your HVAC!

If you want someone who knows their stuff John is your guy. Unlike many companies I’ve worked with John takes the time to really understand what’s not working properly within the system and explains in detail how he can fix it. Many times it’s something minor and he doesn’t try to up-sell you to do things or buy parts that aren’t necessary. I not only use him in my home but as a realtor feel confident recommending him to all my clients!

I met John several years ago when I was getting estimates to replace my HVAC system. I was impressed by his HVAC knowledge and no pressure and helpful style so I kept his business card for future reference. This summer, during the hottest heat wave, my AC gasped its last cool breath, so when that happens, "Who you gonna call"? Well, John Mattson of course! He not only gave me the best price out of 4 HVAC contractors but included several extras that nobody else did. He called back to make sure everything was running smoothly and came in to adjust a return air grill which was making a little noise. I highly recommend John and will definitely call him for any future HVAC needs.
***** OVERDUE UPDATE! Regarding that chatty grill: I should have posted this before. The adjustments John made lasted for a while but eventually the grill started to rattle again whenever the AC turned on. I was resigned to live with it, but John called to check again that everything was working fine and I threw the grill under the bus. This time John showed up with a new grill (which was a better match with the color of the wall) and secured it with extra screws and little isolator pads and we haven't heard a pip from it for several weeks now. All that and he didn't charge me for it! I call that top shelf customer service. Thank you John!

You know someone is an expert when they can make you curious about a field I knew nothing about prior! John knows his stuff whether it's the technical nitty gritty or the the HVAC industry as a whole. He also happens to be an awesome guy :D
