    I had called Desert Star earlier because I realized the AC temperature wasn’t holding and they were able to schedule me for the next day (thank god it wasn’t going to be a week). Our AC then decided to fully give out and the house got up to 87 degrees on a 106 degree day.

    Felipe was the tech that was sent out to us. He was great! He called as soon as he was on his way and arrived when he said he would. Very friendly and nice, he was also very nice to our kitty. He was able to get our AC working within 20 minutes! So grateful to Felipe and Desert Star Air Conditioning and Plumbing. My mother recommended Desert Star to me and I will for sure be recommending them and especially Felipe to my friends. Thank you Felipe and Desert Star.

    Im very impressed with Desert Star, since I’ve always had a horrible experience with my home warranty sending terrible contractors, I read Desert Star reviews so I felt relieved but like always I was expecting someone to drop the ball. Well it didn’t happen, I was extremely pleased from Allyse answering all my questions and giving me daily updates on te home warranty status for the approval of repair to them ordering the part and scheduling the repair. The service tech came out, fixed my unit and I signed up for a maintenance plan. This was painless compared to my past experiences with contractors!!!!

    They were great and efficient in getting my a/c working again after 4 days without it. Ron was exceptional. He under promised and over delivered. They worked with my home warranty company and got it done before I expected. Everyone was REALLY great!!

    I cannot give them a higher score than 2 stars. I started this process June 8th. I was finished with a new unit 2.5 weeks later. It seems the communication between Desert Star Air Conditioning and Fidelity National Home Warranty (FNHW) is non-existent. As is the customer service from Desert Star Air Conditioning.

    I cannot fathom the idea of 2.5 weeks to get the unit inspected, send in the problem to the warranty company, get the item replaced. If it were a direct transaction between Desert Star Air Conditioning and myself it probably would have been faster. But it was 2.5 weeks from start to finish. I asked for the manual/paperwork for the new unit. I was told by the office staff it was left in the A/C unit?.... Who does that? So I have no paperwork on the new unit from Desert Star Air Conditioning.

    The technicians came the time they said they would. When it was all said and done... I was playing messenger between Desert Star Air Conditioning and Fidelity National Home Warranty (FNHW).

    The office staff can do better.

    Would I recommend them? Unfortunately I cannot.

    I called and made an appointment to have my mini-split AC leak tested in April and was pleasantly surprised at the courteous, professional service from the first call through the expert performance of the technician. I HIGHLY recommend Desert Star Air Conditioning... you wont be disappointed!

    BUYER BEWARE!!!! My home warranty sent these guys to diagnose and issue with my heat pump. They said the unit needed to be replaced. Home warranty covered part of the cost, but I paid over $600 out of pocket (including a bogus fee for an “extra man” even though they only sent one man to do the job). Not only did the installer violate code by running the condensate line to my plumbing vent stack, but in the process, he managed to drop a piece of pvc down the pipe and did nothing to retrieve it, nor did he tell anyone. This resulted in a chain of issues with my plumbing, and the damages amounted to WELL over $50,000. The company eventually removed the pvc from the drain, but they refuse to pay for the repairs for the damages. Absolutely horrible business, do not hire them unless you have tens of thousands of dollars laying around to pay for their incompetence.

    The blower motor on our furnace went out and we had Goettl come to check it out and give us a quote on repairs. They quoted an outrageous price so we called Desert Star and they replaced the motor and more for less than half of what Goettl wanted to charge us.

    There service was excellent, the tech was extremely respectful and knowledgeable, and we got everything done on the same day.

    I would definitely use Desert Star again if I ever need any HVAC work done again.

    Scheduling service takes a couple of days. Their A/C serviceman, Chris, is experienced and was prompt to root cause the problem. The main complaint I have is that they price gouge A/C parts. My repair required a simple Chinese made Definite Purpose Contact Switch that costs at most $20. They wanted $128 for the part !!! Ridiculous. So, I called the office supervisor to be reasonable on the price of the part. He unfortunately said they have to charge that high price so that they can stay in business, and that all other Heating /Cooling companies do the same. I disagreed, and suggested the business can be successful by using other business methodologies (instead of business greed that has hurt American families). I ended up purchasing a better (Made in Mexico) Emerson (White Rodgers) SureSwitch contactor online with priority shipping and replaced the part myself.

    Thank you! My ac went out so we were freaking out a little bit main because we have twin 4 year old's and it has been over 100 degrees. My warranty company (that i'm not happy with) first placed a work order with another company that said they would be by in a week... NOT HAPPY! so we called the warranty company and they sent Desert Star! Chris came by and was an awesome Tech!!! Unfortunately the motor was special order and may not come in for a couple of days... urr. Behind the scenes, the WONDERFUL Alyss was working hard to locate the part for us. She called later on that day and said "You are going to love me!" She located a part and Chris could install it tomorrow morning! YEAH!!!! So it's 100 outside and it will be 73 inside this weekend!!! Thank You !!!
