My home builder used a Chas Roberts AC unit. A few months after I moved in the thermostat was not working. Chas Roberts sent a technician, who brought along a trainee. The tech went out to the truck to get a replacement thermostat while the trainee was looking at my air handler when I heard a loud pop. The trainee called the tech over and after a few minutes they closed the door to the air handler, replaced the thermostat and said they were all done. Once they left I took a look at my air handler and found they broke the drain alert off my air handler and didn't bother to fix it or say anything.
I purchased my home new in 2018 for $500k from Taylor Morrison. They used Chas Roberts to install my HVAC system. Last year in the middle of July my a/c went out. I was past my 1 year warranty with TM. I have three children under the age of four and live in AZ, so my priority was to get it fixed as quickly as possible. I called Chas Roberts at 7pm and nobody answered, so I called another company who sent a tech out within an hour. He told me there was no freon and i had a leak in my line. He told me he could run some dye through my line to find the leak. He found the leak where chas roberts had welded aluminum tubing to a copper fitting that connects to the AC unit. He told me 9 times out of 10 these this type of welds will fail because you have two different metals that contract and expand at different temperatures when heated and cooled. Basic science. I called Chas Roberts the next day and the wannabe ghetto tech they sent to my home never made it through my front door. I told him what the other company had told me and as soon as I said he had put dye through my line he yelled that I voided my warranty and i would have to pay for any work he did. With a cocky snotty attitude he continued to basically mock me in front of my wife. I informed their manager they were not allowed to have any of their techs near my propety ever again. I contacted other companies who either had no clue how to do that type of weld or didn't want to risk damaging my system. Luckily I was reccomended to Angel Air who knew exactly how to fix the chas roberts kmart job. I was told by other companies chas roberts hires guys out of prison to do their work. These guys are a joke trained right off a chain gang. If you call them up to do work on your home make sure you have phone books taped around your waist in case they try and shank you for questioning their amateur work. Maybe thats too harsh, that gives amatuers a bad name. There are hundreds of hvac companies in the Phoenix area, please don't waste a penny of your money on them. If your buying a new home and they are installing the hvac system find another builder. If you have a warranty and that's the only reason your using them, stop! Hire a different company and send the bill to your builder.
While I was installing a new thermostat in my home a had a series of problems with my air conditioner shutting down. Technicians arrived quickly and were very helpful. One checked out my new thermostat and pointed out the installation instruction were wrong. He was right! Following his advice, I reconnected the thermostat and my problems went away. Techs definitely go above and beyond!
This company is useless for people like you and I. They are only in business to partner with cheap home builders to perform repairs. Aka they have no true reason to show up or do said repairs. Run as fast as you can. Dukes of air is a great company.
I had Chas Roberts air conditioning out a few times and a few hundred dollars later. I waited 3 days for first technician to come out and a capacitor was changed out problem did not fixed my unit was doing the same thing starti g and stopping chattering like the contractor was kicking in and out, technician had left left his phone number I called he answered with I'll call you back no call Next technician came I explained my problem an other hundred plus dollars oh I found the problem arcing wires I fixed it I asked to let the unit though a few cycles he seem in a hurry to leave said as soon as you leave it will start up again he here's my number call if it happens again 30 min. After he left I called him he said give me a minute and I call you back. NO CALL! So I called the office to have him come back they could not get anyone over to my house again for about 3 days (they said it could sooner if I wanted the window to be between 7pm and midnight customer service WOW). So needless to say dont use this company.
Called to have a basic preventative annual service in preparation for the summer. Was advised they didn't have availability until July. It is March! What is the point of a warranty? If anything we are tying to help by maintaining our unit.
My AC went out on Tuesday and today is Saturday with no fix. I am not sure how much longer it will take. Even one day without AC in Arizona is tough but days without it unbearable. I think the delay could be one or both of two things. 1. Mine is warranty work so there is no motivation to get it done quick when they can handle other jobs that pays. 2. They don't have sufficient people on the job. Whatever the case might be not getting the job less than two days is unacceptable and poor. If you are searching for AC work, go to smaller guys who are more hungry for work.
Stop! Do not use this company. In short, we have a new home, Air has not worked in two bedrooms; 5 techs & 3 months later not fixed. Always the wrong part or tech didn't do it correct. Now, our heat does not work in the bedrooms! Stay far away from this unethical and non responsive company.
Our new home from Beazer has a HVAC unit from CR HVAC. We have had some cooling problems. A tech named Leon came out and went through the unit top to bottom. He essentially did a start up which apparently was not done properly when the house was built. He corrected the fan speed and put in the additional Freon needed for the system. After checking the air flows and heat transfer across the coils the unit is probably operating more efficiently. Thanks Leon.
I would have given a 5 star rate if the proper start up had been done.
