Knowledgeable technician, courteous and professional no problem with him. I know he doesn't set price. However this was not good with me.
Capacitor on outside unit was faulty This is a 70 # part. Part is less than $50 all day long at almost any electrical supply. They charged $264 for part plus service call. $347 total for 15 minutes work and less than$50 part.

I previously reviewed Freedom last year when I had a good experience. Over the past 2 visits their services have been subpar at best. Tbh they came recommended and though the last visit I had was not the best I figured I’d give them another chance. This last visit will be my last time using them. It was time for my system to be serviced however, my A/C was also not kicking on. The young gentleman who came out took 3 hours assessing and “fixing” my unit. I assumed there must be something significant at play if it was taking this long. I’ve never sat and watched an individual working so I let him know if he needed anything or anything came up, just holler and let me know. At the end of the 3 hours he gets me and tells me that he ran all these tests to make sure it wasn’t anything serious and in the end replaced my thermostat which would be $330. My first concern is that he replaced something that would be charged to me and did not fill me in at all. Every time I’ve had any services done anywhere the people tell me what needs to be done and get my ok first. At this point the work has already been done and it was starting to get later in the day, so I paid and he said an invoice would be emailed to me (never came). I called the following Monday (services happened on Friday) and asked to get the invoice and to talk to a manager. I was sent my invoice and was told someone would be contacting me. Per the invoice I was only charged for the thermostat. The same thermostat sells for $98 on Amazon….so why is this company charging $330?!? When a manager called me back he told me the same thing, that the price was strictly for the thermostat. The thermostat I never even gave the ok to install. The manager said they could give me money towards my future visits however, I will not be using them from now on.

My heat went out and I used the website to request a technician. I received a call back within 2 hours and they were even able to get a technician out the same day! Jerwan, the technician, was awesome! Very friendly and professional.

Just a few years ago I gave this company a 5 star review and I’ve recommended them countless times. I would absolutely have purchased another system from them based on how well they served my needs with the system I purchased from them at my previous address.

But the last few years have been challenging. I wouldn’t rate a company poorly based on 1 incident but I’ve had a string of issues that culminated in tonight.

Today I had my regularly scheduled maintenance with them. I walked him through everything , double checked he was actually going to check everything, he didn’t. Filters weren’t changed. He didn’t put my hoses where they were etc .

I left , got home to an 80 degree house. Immediately called and a super nice lady answered and said “he must have forgotten the switch , I’ll get in touch and have him come back “ and that was it. I was kind of impressed until 3 hours had gone by and nothing .
It’s 7:30 at night now and I can’t get an answer at a place that says they have 24 hour emergency service. I can’t leave a message because the mailbox is full and I’m starting a holiday weekend having no idea if my issue will be resolved with 2 dogs who just had surgery and I need to keep comfortable.

I’m beyond frustrated.

Just for reference a year ago when they did maintenance their associate left the screws in my laundry floor from my unit . How do I know ? My dog choked on one and I found the other 3. They were super apologetic but here we are again.

And during this last 1.5 years of maintenance they never once checked or told me about a return filter that was in a bedroom. The filter wasn’t changed in that whole time (that they were doing maintenance) and that unit stopped a month ago. My home warranty came out and figured out the issue but were pretty incredulous taut the folks doing maintenance had never checked or mentioned that filter . That was almost a week of no air .

Rant over, I’ll update this when I see how they handle the debacle that has occurred today .

I worked here, these people are our kind of people who we should support in USA. Even though I regret quitting once already, I strongly agree on how they operate the shop and office. I hope they can do outstanding improvements and lead us into 2023 with a new perspective. Even as hardheaded as I am it's not hard to see its ran by great people.
