They claim 24 hour service, it's clear as day on their Facebook page and web site, but it's not true. I called this evening because our AC has stopped working. Spent an hour and a half trying to get someone on the phone to discuss the issue. I explained that our AC was out, that we have two babies in the house and we need to get it fixed ASAP. The man I spoke with offered to have a scheduler call me in the morning.
"We're busy and we can't answer your call, but we can come at X time" would be understandable. But a simple "I can have a scheduler call you tomorrow between 8AM and noon to schedule an appointment"? That's not a very reasonable response from a company claiming to offer 24 hour service.
You don't offer 24 hour service. You have a 24 hour answering service. There is a difference.
The business replied to me on FB saying the following:
"With all due respect, at this time we were servicing a walk in freezer that was not working. This customer could have lost $5,000+ worth of frozen product if we did not fix their emergency call immediately. In addition, it was 66 degrees the evening Mr. Kilborn called (see screen shot of Weather Channel). And, Mr. Kilborn misunderstood, he was informed that he would receive a call the next day at 8AM to schedule an appointment."
After spending 90 minutes waiting for a return call, only receiving it after my third message with their answering service (I'm not sure why I tried so many times), they said nothing about being busy. They said, very plainly, "We can have a scheduler call you tomorrow between 8 and noon to schedule an appointment." Had they explained they were on an urgent call, or had their answering service say "Hey, our people are tied up this evening, sorry," I would have just moved on. But we had a good experience in the past with them, so I waited. And waited. And waited.
And yes, it's 66 degrees this evening. But it's 76 inside the house, and I've got two babies, one sick, that we're trying to keep asleep. We ended up moving to a hotel, and Harker will be here first thing in the morning. Problem solved.
My criticism isn't that they couldn't handle the service call. It's that the communication was so poor. And, I suppose, that they had time to refute a Facebook review but didn't have time to call back and quickly say sorry, we're busy, can't help this evening.
Did not receive any services from this company but was tailgated through a work zone then passed in a double yellow while trying to pull into my driveway. Obviously the driver has never been that dad standing on the side of the road, or he would understand why I was being cautious. Doesn't represent the company very well.
We have used Service Specialists in our home several times and the service has always been wonderful. Service staff are prompt, professional and efficient. Highly recommend them to anyone needing in-home heating/AC service.

I placed a call when my chiller system had frozen up in early January explained what my issue was and they stated that they needed to see it first I had confirmed twice over the phone that this would be a "FREE QUOTE" the reply I had gotten was yes sir.
guy shows up 4 hours after he says he will be here said he would come back the next morning came back in at 2:00 the next day and said I will do some thinking. the next morning I get a call and his idea over the phone is to crane the chiller off of the roof and put it inside to thaw!!!!! told him I was going to pass.
so here's the kicker a month later I get a $300 bill for WHAT?!!!!! after making 3 calls back to see what craziness is going on I finally get a guy that says "WE DON'T GIVE FREE QUOTES" I love the "Up front competitive prices" heck when I get the bill a month after you did nothing I would guess that is up front or whats there other catch phrase "No Hidden Charges"
Save your money keep looking for a good repeatable business to work with you not work you over!
My family's company has been doing business with Service Specialists for decades. They always go above and beyond for their customers. Great company to work with.
Amazing Service! They have serviced our company for the last 5 plus years with no issues. They are always available by phone and they are quick to show up when we call them for help.
Appointment at 10am no one show up, been waiting for them until 1pm and called them then they told me that they will be coming in the afternoon and no time frame given, I will strongly not recommend this servicing company for any fix, if you are struggling for fix, your equipments ruin!
Terrible company, terrible values, terrible decision making from the top down. They only have their own best interests at heart, do not give the slightest bit of care for their customers, especially when they are in the wrong.
