Thermex has installed 2 new furnaces and two new A/C units, repaired a boiler system, and installed multiple thermostats for me. They are courteous, and follow through; however, Mark seems to always try and brush off real issues. This is unfortunate because it leads to multiple calls, service calls, and inconvenience. I had to go back 3 times to pay the bill! The condensation pump was not plugged in on one unit, Freon had leaked out due to a damaged line, electrical inspector found issue with improper fuses, and my new A/C is causing humidity-common issue-but Mark said he never heard of it. Will not use Thermex in the future. Which is sad because they have some really stellar employees.
My furnace started faulting on Wednesday before Christmas I called the technician from thermex the owner of the company showed up he told me he didn’t know what the fault code meant. He said I will call the manufacturer to find out what the fault means and I will get back to you next day. Here I I’m 5 days later and no one from Thermex hasn’t contact me. I have two little kids and my house was pretty cold. I finally found the problem and fixed my self. The owner of the company is Mark.
I had an A/C unit go out during the summer and our home warranty provider novated the repair work to thermex - this is worth mentioning since I didn't have the choice to work with anyone else.
The inital consultation to diagnose the issue was easy and pleasant, thermex communicated well, in my assessment, with the warranty provider, and the magnitude of the fix meant that the home warranty provider was sourcing the parts. Since Thermex had to wait for the parts they can't be responsible for the 4 week wait to receive the components.
After they received the components I had to speak to them on multiple occasions before they located the components in their facility, and they then scheduled me 2 weeks out... I would have preferred they schedule in advance given they were aware of the parts coming in in advance. 2 weeks passed and they never showed up on the date scheduled, and then showed up randomly the following morning without notice or confirmation.
There were 2 workers, one smoked all morning around the house. They demanded payment on the spot, which felt like strange practice, especially given the price of the service. I asked if they'd invoice me and they said they'd power down the system if i didn't cut a check right then. The invoice included an amount for a component they didn't use and I had to ring their office before they would amend it for the reduced amount. They cashed the check almost 2 weeks late and overdrew the account as a result, my bank waived the fee but Thermex wouldn't waive theirs despite their omission. At that point I paid the extra just to be done with the process.
Months later as part of a furnace checkup by another company, I noted water dripping from behind the siding, and the tech found that they had terminated the a/c condensate line in the wall...
All in all the experience wasn't all that satisfactory, and I paid for it more than once over with my time and the costs involved to diagnose and fix the errors.
25 year Automation, Robotics and Industrial Electrician here, was rudely explained by a very rude and misinformed Thermex veteran on how motors and bearings are diagnosed. Please when you call make sure you ask them how it's done... after laughing about it simply hang up and call another company. Perhaps they'd benefit from taking course of Motor Theory and Motor Diagnostics 🤔 😉 🤪
I received a call from an unknown number not listed as this business, no one answered on the other end of the line as I said hello and to call back. Waited for technician to show and hasn’t so I call and the guy tells me, “oh we have phone problems all the time,” and accuses me of being the problem for not calling them back. Very unprofessional. They should have tried calling at least once more before moving on to another appointment. I believe the job wasn’t lucrative enough so they just made an excuse and went to a better paying job.
Thermex is a business that deserves to be at the top of any list for Heating and A/C. They were very professional and even came on a holiday to fix my boiler heating system. The price was very good and the service excellent.
