We were very impressed and greatly appreciative of the swift response and fast repairs done by Rich when we had a heat pump emergency. He took time from a very busy schedule to come to our rescue and did the repairs for a very fair price. We were also impressed with Rich’s knowledge and expertise. And he was a great guy! Contacted Standard Air to request service for an 25+ years-old gas water heater. Rich Barnes identified the need for a new water heater and not only managed to secure a replacement the same day (was end of the work day), but also was able to install first thing the next morning. Rich was timely, professional, personable, and provided detailed explanations of the new install as well as the problems with the original water heater condition. Best of all, the price was very affordable for the new heater and service. Would highly recommend and I will definitely call again for any other HVAC or plumbing needs in the future.

I contacted Standard Air on a Saturday afternoon and Rich Barnes came on a Sunday morning to check on my hot water heater. He was prompt, personable and extremely competent at his job. He was able to replace the thermostats for me and while here also inspected, cleaned and replaced the connector in my HVAC unit. His price is more than fair for the time and honest work that he does. In today’s world, it is extremely nice to find a repairman who is local, honest and affordable. Standard Air is well above standard in my book!

Rich is very knowledgeable about the HVAC units installed in the homes this area (Dumfries) and gave me good service when I called for a check-up and maintenance. He didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need. However, the next day when my of my units failed (no fault of his own) he came by immediately and assessed the situation and was able to order just what I needed with no extras added. I trust Rich and will be using Standard Air as long as we live here.

Rich is amazing. Period. I reached out to him after my terrible experience with Choice Home Warranty (not their technicians, just the service) and he listened to my confusing and frustrating story that left me without heat in my home for three weeks in November prior to his arrival into my mess of a situation. He walked me through his service call on-site. Showed me the issues. Explained how the issue likely happened. Provided several solutions - short term and long term. Discussed various HVAC brands, sizes for my home, benefits, warranty options, install dates….. etc. He is very transparent with his process. Stayed in communication up until the day he received the unit and arrived to install it. He arrived with his helper Darrius who was equally checked in to my issue and thorough to explain what he was going to work on. In short, this little paragraph does not describe just how satisfied I am with Rich and Darrius. I will be reaching back out for water heater replacement and gas log installation for sure. And should Rich take on any other services with his company, I will call him for that too! Absolutely the best. Hands down. Period.

Rich did a great job, listened, had sound advice and is all around a great guy to deal with. He installed a new heat pump for me quickly.
