WARNING DO NOT HIRE! The owner and employees do not understand the equipment they are selling. When you run into a problem, they will not use the manual provided by the manufacturer to figure it out. Instead, they will do ANYTHING to avoid properly repairing it. I had to ask for a refund to hire someone to fix their mistakes. Travis is a terrible HVAC tech! He doesn't deserve his license or the paper it's printed on!
Did not finish the work, I waited all day for the owner and a tech to show up at my property & finish the work they started a month & 1/2 ago. They never came. Tried showing up randomly, while I was not home, unannounced weeks later. Travis, the tech got into an argument with my husband on the phone, blaming him (my husband) for the work not being completed. I also, overheard him instructing his technician to watch YouTube videos on how to fix my unit.
Travis told us repeatedly we have a 1 stage unit, when in fact we have a 2 stage. Left visible insulation in my master bedroom vent after saying he would remove it. One tech was very rude upon entering my home, did not greet me & was very disrespectful. All of this, while taking frequent smoking breaks in my driveway. Not cool.
Never showed back up to complete the work they started. I do not recommend this place.
Sims AC was highly recommended from an employee who works here at the branch. On 4/26 Sims sent out a technician named Travis. Travis looked over the units and he recommended we get new units installed, units we had were 30 years old, and they were not functioning properly, not to mention no parts for the units. Travis emailed me a bid the next day to get the units replaced. Later that day I received a text from Travis informing me, if I got the work done in a week, he would take off $700. I texted Travis a few hours later that day, to let him know I got the approval for the work to be done from my Corporate office. Travis then called me to let me know he had the units, and they could be out on 5/10 to install the units. A few days go by, and I receive a text from Travis letting me know he could no longer honor the $700 off. No problem I said. So, on 5/10 Travis and the AC crew showed up to install 3 interior units and 3 exterior units. Talk about total confusion on how to install the units, where to begin or end the install. The AC unit that was installed in one of the offices was installed wrong, broke, and not cooling the office, found all this out after the owner of Sims showed up. The owner went on to say he was very disappointed on how the units were installed and the office unit fan was crushed, and the cooling line was soldered shut. The owner said he would have Travis contact me to fix the unit.
After several no-shows, to finally showing up only to say well the unit is fixed now but I will need to order another fan. Travis returned a week later to install the fan and once again reported the unit was fixed. After a couple of days went by, we noticed it was still hot and muggy in that office area. I texted the owner this time to report the office was still hot. I heard nothing back, then after a couple days, Travis calls me, to ask me if he could stop by on Saturday., I said sure my service manager will be there. As you can expect Saturday came and went no Travis, no call, no text. Another wasted day of waiting. The next day I texted the owner of Sims to say the unit was still not working and Travis was a no-show again. I heard nothing back for over a week. I received a text from Travis, hey last time I came out the unit was fixed, and his digital read said 68 degrees So, in other words, his job was complete, and I was just being a picky customer.
Long story short I had to call another company out Goodie AC, the technician reported two units outside had crushed coils, and they were leaking Freon. WoW imagine that lol. Even though the units were new the company the units were manufactured from only cover $200. After fixed coils and 4 lbs each of Freon I can finally say the units are fixed lol. Never again my friend...
I arrived home Tuesday evening and the house temperature was setting at a warm 78 degrees-definitely higher than the 72 that I had programmed. Called and spoke to Travis Taber and we set up an appointment for the next day. He came out and diagnosed it and between the parts to repair the 11 year old unit, I opted to replace it. Two days later he and his crew removed the old system, replaced it with a more efficient one in 5 hours. Great company to do business with.
Sims Family heating and air has worked on a few different things for us and has done a great job each time. They are very knowledgeable, affordable and fast. Would highly recommend!

Our AC unit is over 20 years old and Sims Family Air was able to make repairs. I recommend them for any AC service needed.
