I used MJ Environmental for my AC repair yesterday, I was so pleased with their service I wanted to share my experience. MJ Environmental was professional and handled my repair with efficiency and superior customer service. They were able to come out the same day and the technician, Juan, was knowledgeable and transparent, he shared good information and took the time to explain and answer questions. I felt confident in his abilities and integrity regarding the service repair. Juan was following all COVID19 protocols and was safe and respectful in my home. I would recommend MJ Environmental for all of your AC Service needs, they were fantastic!
New a/c and/or heating systems are investments. When needing to replace my ancient, inefficient unit with a new one, I got three bids before making a decision on which company to go with. All three companies recommended the same model unit - but MJ Environmental was $2K less than the other companies (for the exact same model and an even better warranty). When I asked how much it would cost to fix a crinkled duct and install a new sensor for a different system upstairs, they offered to include that in the already very low price for the a/c heating package unit and installation.
Marcelo and others in the company are excellent communicators - are super fast with email and phone - and do their best to work with customers on a budget. They are a very professional and honest company who makes every effort to find and offer the best price without sacrificing quality of equipment or installation/repair services. I have already hired them for additional a/c work in other parts of the house as I know I can count on them.
I would give no stars if it were an option. Completely unprofessional as well as dishonest. Avoid at all costs.
A technician was dispatched to my home to diagnose and fix my ac (covered under my home warranty.) Not only was he late but he failed to diagnose and repair the issue. His supervisor was then dispatched and he was 4 hours late and not equipped to handle the problem. He said he would send someone out "tonight or tomorrow." And he never did.
On top of all of that, MJ reported back to my warranty company that all of the work had been completed.
My advice is to avoid this dishonest and unprofessional company at all costs.
I can't say enough good things about MJ Environmental Heat & Air. The quote we received from them was super low. While I was gathering competitor's quotes, one company suggested that for the price we were quoted, we weren't getting an entire system, so I was wary. I invited them back out to make sure their estimate was accurate. They stood by it! Even when I gave them the opportunity to charge me more, they did not. I also asked them to pull a permit since they were replacing my old system and bringing it up to code, which they did. They didn't even charge us extra to pull the permit. I really couldn't believe it. They crew was supposed to show up between 9:30 and 10. At 9:30, I worried that maybe it was too good to be true, then their big blue box truck showed up. A sense of relief washed over me, as the crew got out and got to work taking our brand new system of the truck, and like a well oiled machine, divided and conquered. One team started in the attic and one team started to get the compressor installed. Around 2:30 our A/C sprang to life. WOW, there is such a difference! There is no longer a question about whether or not a vent is open. I can't wait to see how low our A/C bill is. By 9:00 pm our house was cool and our A/C even turned off!! We have had the A/C running non stop all summer...for years! Marcello, the owner, came by to check on everything as his crew was finishing up and to make sure we knew how to maintain our new system. He is so nice. He is going to have the city inspector come out to inspect the work. They have made a life-long customer out of me! I still feel like it is too good to be true, but everything went so well. I am so happy we went with MJ Environmental Heat and Air. I would recommend this company to anyone, really to everyone! I wish they could install a unit for my mom, but she lives 9 hours away!
Marcelo is honest and prompt. Had a problem with my AC and he quoted a reasonable amount and was able to change the condenser the very next day. Highly recommended
I am extremely pleased with the installation of the HVAC system installed by MJ Environmental. The technicians did a superb job. They were courteous, worked afficiently, and demonstrated a thorough knowledge of of what needed to be accomplished. I would recommend this company to anyone having or needing a new HVAC system. I am so fortunate that I used MJ Environment Heat & Air LLC for replacing my compressor. The staffs of this company are so professional. Celina and Marcelo do care and understand the needs of the customers. They are very responsive and do the great job in a timely manner with very reasonable price. I highly recommend to use this company for HVAC needs.
I initially came in contact with this company in July. My AC needed repair and was eventually replaced with a brand new unit by MJ. Moving forward November, there is this loud blaring noise from the unit. I call my warranty company and specifically ask for the original company who installed the unit to return. My request was granted. The technician (Juan) came and did a diagnostic test. Could not recreate the problem. A few days pass by and this blaring noise is back, now louder than it was a few days ago. I go out and record this issue, so there is no question as to what is going on with the unit. MJ returns a few days later, I provide them with a video and was told this was a normal thing. Keep in mind this unit was purchased in July brand new. No noise, no problems. But per Juan this was normal. This time on the service call, Freon needs to be added. But the Freon wasn’t low four days prior. No explanation as to why that happened. Juan again leaves, sites on his work order that the unit was not broken. Blamed my thermostat, without checking the thermostat. I then call to speak to Marcelo, I explained everything that had transpired. He himself could not give a explanation to the noise or why it was occurring. Instead sided with his technician that it was the thermostat. Although he or his technician never inspected the thermostat. After some back and forth and no resolution. I called my warranty company back and gave them the rundown of events. MJ was once again dispatched for repair for a third time in two weeks. On this dispatch they declined this service request. I despise companies that do not stand by their work. Juan, suggested that I google Carrier’s AC to hear that noise by other consumers, who claimed it was normal by Carrier. I in fact found the opposite. I am no technician but what I have researched hints around the scrolls, in the compressor are out of line. Causing this loud blaring noise. This cannot be replaced, because it is sealed and unable to be opened. My gut feeling tells me they knew this, this is why they refused to take the service call. Sad, a brand new ac unit may have to be replaced because of a shady company.
(Update) At the advisement of your technician we changed the air filter, as we were suppose to do, since you want to refer to your notes, your notes should have told you, the service call was related to the ac not working. There was no low temperature at the time of my service call. This had absolutely nothing to do with the heater. So why on earth will, I need to turn on the heat or need the heat pump to turn on, when my ac was not working? On our call, I repeatedly told you it was my ac, not my heater. YOU! Failed to listen. Luckily it was not the scrolls or the condenser nor was it the thermostat. The issue with my unit should have been recognized and rectified when you can to my home several times, if you had just simply done a thorough diagnostic test , instead of making excuses for the incompetence of your business. The next service company knew exactly what the problem was. They didn’t give me this bs, as being a normal sound that had not been there for four months after the installation. They actually fixed the problem.
