I am giving Morton Plumbing two stars because we have used them in the past for minor plumbing repairs and they did an ok job. This time was for the HVAC. They did show up on time but this is all they did right. The technician did not get back to me about the issues, did unauthorized repairs to our system, we were sent a bill for $465.78 for repairs we never asked for, and the system stopped working less than 2 weeks later. When I called again they scheduled an appointment for the following day, I waited for 4 hours and never received a call as I was told I would. I got a call this morning at 6:40 am to tell me they were onsite yesterday and to offer more repairs. Both Karen and Mr Morton refused to take any responsibility for the whole situation, talked over me, raised their voices when I tried to address the issues, and in the end Mr. Morton made a statement he was "sorry we couldn't make you happy" and threatened that they won't provide us further services if we get a second opinion. Mr Morton, since you didn't give me the chance to share my feedback with you on the phone this morning, I am writing it here. My expectation of you is not to make me happy. I expect a service that is professional and reliable. Ask people whether they want certain repairs prior to doing them, be transparent with your billing practices, take responsibility for your actions, and for your employees' actions, call during regular business hours, and speak politely to your customers. It's that simple.
BUYERS BE WARNED: How this business has 4 stars is beyond me. Every one star review is accurate and should be considered prior to hiring these incompetent workers. After being financially abused by Mr. Morton’s workers (one being his son), I received quotes from various plumbers around the Nashville area and they assured me that I was overcharged for the parts and labor provided.
First, the son fixed the easy jobs (eg. toilet flow), then proceeded to tell me that only his father could fix the bar sink reflux but never followed up nor consulted with other employees.
Second, he left then sent me a $2400 bill. The only follow up on their services was harassment to pay. Which I unfortunately did…
We have used Morton for years for both plumbing and air conditioning issues, and we highly recommend them! They are one of the most honest and helpful companies we have ever worked with. You can count on them to be completely transparent with you about every aspect of the job, and they do great work at a fair price. They've worked with us through several tricky repairs, and we always know we are in good hands!
They repaired our toilet that needed a new flange and also unclogged our drain. The plumber was extremely nice and even showed me what to do the next time our sink gets clogged. They are budget friendly and get the job done quickly. Other guys like Michael's Plumbing was going to try and charge us an astronomical amount for something so simple to fix. Morton Plumbing is the best and I would recommend them to everyone I know from now on!!! Thank you Morton Plumbing!!! :)
I called Morton plumbing and told them that my water line was backed up and that I needed help that same day. No commodes were working, the kitchen sink was backing up, and the bathtub was backing up, so they knew the problem before they arrived.
They were nice enough to work me in that day, but when the technician arrived, he checked everything and told me I had a major problem. He also told me (after calling his office) that their equipment was not available to clear my sewer line, and that it would not be available until the following week (which was in about 4 days).
I could not wait that long since I had no working commodes in the house. I asked the technician if I should call RotoRooter or another plumber, and he said yes, and that he would call Hiller. I told him I was a Hiller customer but did not call Hiller initially because I thought they were very expensive and I had heard good things about Morton's.
So, bottom line, the Morton guy left, and then I was billed a $49 dispatch fee. I don't mind paying the dispatch fee if I was offered the option of Morton's do the work. But they were not able to help me that day.
When I called their office to ask if the dispatch fee could be waived, the woman who answered the phone kept interrupting me and said that her guy told me what was wrong so that I could call another plumber and tell them was what wrong. She talked over my attempt to speak and would not let me talk without interrupting. She said that I was told about the dispatch fee in advance (I don't remember being told about it) and that everyone was billed that fee and it had to be paid if I chose another service. The only reason I chose another service was because Morton's did not have the equipment available. And if I told him in advance about all the issues I was having, why did he come to my home if he did not have the equipment to fix it? So, my complaint is poor customer service, and having to pay a fee when they were not able to do the work due to their lack of equipment.
Our 800 foot water line was broken - losing copious amounts of water. Morton’s was at my house within an hour to assess the situation. We did need the escavator which was not available until the next day. They arrived first thing in the morning and stuck with a difficult job until it was repaired. Each employee I met was very kind and helpful. I talked with the dispatcher and owner several times, and they were always professional and courteous. I highly recommend this plumbing company.
Morton Plumbing is quick, responsive, and everyone I've spoken with was as nice as can be. As a new-ish homeowner, they walked me through everything and I found them so nice to work with and they did a great job. (The technician also showed up within the scheduled window- always a bonus for me!) I had a shower with a faulty lever and cartridge, and he fixed it in under an hour for a reasonable price.
My A/C stopped working, and I called Morton and was given a time 4 days away. It's getting pretty hot, they must be busy. They called a short while after and had an unexpected opening, and two great technicians, Tim and Sim, showed up within an hour and had the cold air blowing in about another. Great experience, and I'll definitely be back in the future.
I should have given this review years ago. My mom has used Morton's Plumbing for as long as I can remember. They know her and she knows them so well that she leaves a key for them to come in and do what they need to do when she's not around. They are a GREAT group of people and I'm sure I would use them if I needed their services. I didn't know they did HVAC stuff so that's a definite plus.
Second time I've had Morton out to my place, and I've been very happy with the results both times. With my most recent problem, I started out by calling a very large company who came out and started with an "everything's wrong" mentality and some very steep initial quotes. So I dug through some invoices to see who I'd used a few years ago and got back in touch with Morton. I should have started there. Josh (owner's son) and Blake were both very positive and willing to think practically instead of immediately going to the worst-case-scenario. They took care of the problem professionally and I will be very happy to call them again next time I need a plumber.

My advice, get multiple quotes!!
