While in my basement this morning (around 7am on a Friday), I noticed water coming from my failed hot water tank. Called MPG around 7:30, and they were on the job in record time, diagnosed, new water tank installed and heating up by 10am the same day! Amazingly professional, personable, and a joy to have as our local cooling and heating pros! Thanks MPG!

MPG Installed my central air and heating system in 2014. When it was installed is irrelevant since I was not looking for anything for free. I just wanted a repair man to come to my house and fix the problem. I figured I would call the person that installed it. I have been trying for the last 2 weeks to get MPG to come to look at the 1st floor AC unit since it was not working. Every time I called I was told maybe tomorrow, maybe this weekend. I have been on standby for the last 2 weeks. I found out today that he never had any intention to make the service call because I didn’t give him annual maintenance business. This was the text I got from Mike at MPG when we were finally told he was not going to make it indefinitely.
“We do stand by our products.
We just don't stand by products that don't service in 10 years.
I hope you didn't wait that long to change it oil in your car.” Very unprofessional. Buyer beware

Mike at MPG replaced my existing central AC and my central heating system with a Mitsubishi ducted mini split’s and I couldn’t be happier. My situation was a little unique because I wanted to use the National Grid heat loan program to install hyper efficient heat pumps to replace my existing Oil burner hydro heating system and get an added bonus new central air. I received 3 quotes from other companies and I was shocked at the range in pricing and the inability for most of them to explain the cost and components they were quoting. Mike was extremely knowledgeable answered all of my questions and walked me through the install where others didn’t seem to have time.

MPG being the clear choice I gave mike the 50% deposit and we scheduled the install. On install day he texted to inform me what time he would arrive. Mike and his crew quickly got to work removing my old AC units and furnace under the watchful supervision of Miles our family dog. Installation was a breeze Mike and his crew did a great job, left the spaces clean, neat and I could not recommend him enough.

We’ve used MPG multiple times in the past and they’ve always been very responsive. Today might set a record: when we noticed water pooling in the garage whenever the central AC was running, we called Mike and he had the problem fixed later the same day! He stopped by the house, identified the problem as a broken condensate pump, went and bought a new pump, and had it installed and working literally within an hour and a half of when we first placed the call. Can’t ask for better service than that!

Incompetent. Do not use. We had them come out to fix our minisplit Fujitsu unit. They found a capacitor board blown and charged me $470 for a part that we found out later cost $79.66 and required cash up front before they would order it. After installing the part unit still did not work. They tried to tell me I needed a new unit for $6800. They refused to deal with the warranty and have yet to give me a proper receipt for the part. After not showing up for multiple appointments and almost 2 months we called another company. UGNasons. They came out found 3 more boards out and informed me that when one blows others do too and the standard procedure is always to check all boards once one is found blown. Within a week I had my unit fixed and it is running wonderfully and all parts were covered under warranty. Also MPG charged $189 for a visit UGNasons charged $125. We paid MPG $848 and got no where. UGNasons was only $250 for the labor of two visits and they dealt with the warranty of the parts. I reported this to the Better Business Bureau.

REPLY To owner response below: I have been a homeowner for 35 years and this is the first time I felt the need to file a complaint with the BBB. The case with the BBB was closed as "unsatisfied customer". There was never a full report asked for or meeting requested. I did rebut MPG's BBB response to my complaint which had not addressed the issues. It is all there under MPG Mechanical on the BBB website.

I did not have a problem with paying cash just that charging me $470 for a $79 part was unethical. MPG has yet to justify this.

Called on a Monday thinking it would be a week or so. Came to the house that day, ordered the part I needed and had me up and running by Thursday morning. Great service and excellent to deal with. Highly recommend.

Very unhappy with their customer service and dishonest business practices. We had a terrible experience with them. I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
