On balance, a very positive experience -- on very short notice. During an unusual hot spell June 10, my 31-year-old HVAC device suddenly began struggling -- unable to provide air conditioning. I called Mid City and two other similar entities; only Mid City was able to come the next day for an appointment. The technician was, let's say, very punctual (arriving three hours early, actually, due to issues with other appointments within my building). The technician was also outstanding -- personable and professional. He diagnosed the problem and laid out my options -- without any kind of pressure. One of those options was to replace the HVAC device entirely -- expensive up front, but probably best in the long run. I chose that option; and the tech got right on it -- ordering a new device and having it delivered, by a colleague, to my condo. He promptly -- and, it appears one month later, correctly -- installed the device. It took only about two hours from the time he first arrived until the time he eventually left. This was my first experience with Mid City -- but it appears the firm is worthy of all its positive reviews.
My old furnace stopped working overnight. They responded to my midnight message bright and early to get me scheduled that same day. Their technician showed up on time, was very professional and knowledgeable. He could tell I was in a bind, and found a way to get me a new furnace the same day! (within my budget as well) The work was flawless and I highly recommend their services.
Great customer service! Other places I called were pushy and rude, trying to force a new hot water heater instead of diagnosing the current situation. Was able to schedule them to come out the next day. Great communication and more than helpful. Rates seemed a little higher than other places but well worth it! Will be calling Mid City for any future plumbing needs.
Tl;Dr: Quality work, highly recommend for anything they do. Seriously, I cannot suggest these folks highly enough. I have a 1909 house that had massive gas leaks all over the place as the old gas fixtures had never been properly capped or disconnected. The work they did getting me a whole new run of gas piping was absolutely solid, and minimally invasive. Yeah, some walls had to be opened up, which I expected. But then they went and figured out how to run in so that all the wall exposure happened in areas that were covered by appliances or in the closets. The techs were pleasant, efficient, and explained everything I needed to know. Is it possible that I could have gotten a lower price tag somewhere else? Probably. But when you're talking about pressurized explosive gas coming into your home, that's not a place to cut corners. They do a quality job, and I have absolutely NO doubt that the work was done safely and to code. Edit: Just got the bill, and I'm pleasantly surprised. 2 days of solid work and it came in much less than I had feared. They are not the cheapest solution to your problem up front, but trust me, their work is the best value you could ask for. Their work will still be good when this place falls down around it.
Joel was able to diagnose our geothermal system problems and fix them. This was after the company that installed them said they could not be fixed and I needed 2 new units! What a great job he did. We could not be more grateful. Thank you Joel for being an expert at your trade!
Very pleased with the communication, responsiveness, and level of professionalism from Mid City. I highly recommend them and will definetly be using them again. They were very proactive in their service and I felt that they went above and beyond the call of duty.
Toilet leaking at LOTL: Too expensive! They "round up": had to pay $32.50 for 3 extra minutes. Rip off.
Excellent and helpful service from start to finish. During install we had an issue with our thermostat not compatible with our new heat pump unit. The previous HVAC company installed it in a way that wasn't correct. While we worked with Nest and after I had to purchase a new thermostat, Mid City continued to check in to see that we were able to resolve our thermostat issue. In fact, I ran into the technician in our building not too long ago and he again made sure we were still having no issues. Great work, transparent and great customer service. I will never call anybody else.

They came to my home and remembered the boiler with the previous owners. They were very courteous and very knowledgeable. They were very reasonable with the price I thought. I will be calling them today again just for a check up on my boiler because its been several years since its been looked and since they did the repairs.
