I highly recommend ABR Mechanical Services. They were very reliable and professional. We are very pleased with the cost and installation of our unit. The staff was always willing and available to answer any questions I may have had. We will use this company again.
If you check my reviews - I rarely rave. That is because when I do - I want it to stand out. To that end - I will say that while I was initially tentative about the business (they are newer than most, and therefore it is hard to gauge history) - they now have a customer for as long as they want them. Was quoted $2800 to fix my unit. It was a pretty top-of-the-line unit and literally - the leak quoted was the first maintenance in almost 10 years (aside from a board replacement in the first 90 days). The unit is a tank - and I figured I should have 5-10 years out of my 20 SEER unit. In truth - the repair had been strongly discourage, and replacing the entire air-handler was recommended ($6500)... and really, the only quote they really pushed was an $18000 replacement unit. This after one technician spent two hours checking it out (he even failed to reassemble everything and put on the caps). The owner never bothered to come out - and on top of that - as soon as they looked at my 15 year old boiler - well it HAD to be replaced to (wouldn't even clean it, although they insisted on being paid for that). With that replacement - they were looking to get me for about $26K. ABR came out and spent most of the day there. I got the expert on my unit - and somebody learning about the unit. They spent half a day and tested everything. In the end - the replaced a burned-out capacitor (the other company failed to diagnose) and the leaking Schrader Valve that caused the leak. With gas and everything - it was well under $1000, and after watching how EXACTING the guys were in testing...I felt like it was a steal (really - I actually double-checked the price twice, I felt like I was getting one over on THEM). Three days later the heat was good (the day of the repair - it was cold). They came back out (no charge) and tested both the pressure and the levels on the cooling side.
