Carroll Plumbing did such an amazing job on my boiler and hot water heater. Five stars is too few for this incredible team! From the first day that I contacted them for an estimate, they could not have been nicer or more professional. I spoke to Bruce multiple times on the phone and he came to my house twice before any work even started. The first visit was to provide an estimate for replacing my oil-based combi-boiler, which was over 30 years old. Bruce provided multiple options and was completely straightforward about the pricing for each option. I later followed up with him and asked numerous detailed questions via several email exchanges. Bruce always provided quick responses and encouraged me to ask more questions (unlike other plumbing companies I spoke to). After all that, I still had questions about which option to choose, so Bruce came to my house again and sat down at the table with me to explain thoroughly how the two different systems that I was considering worked. He looked at my old combi-boiler again and described how the new equipment would fit into the same space as well as what additional piping and venting (chimney) work would be required. This degree of personal interaction (and patience!) was above and beyond anything I had expected, but as a new homeowner, I was extremely grateful for it. I decided to proceed with Bruce’s recommended replacement systems: a new boiler and a separate new water heater, both fueled by natural gas (which I did not have yet at my house). Bruce started all the necessary paperwork and coordination with the city for the new gas line, ordered the new equipment, and had his team come shortly thereafter to remove the old combi-boiler and install the new boiler and hot water heater. I highly recommend Carroll Plumbing for any of your plumbing needs! I have been relying on Carroll Plumbing for the past year to diagnose and resolve a variety of plumbing issues at my 120 year old rental property. On both occasions, they arrived on-time and were able to effectively address the problem. They worked efficiently to fix the issues and took preventative measures to help us save time and money. Carroll Plumbing was great at communicating what needed to be done and worked well with my tenants to gain access to the house. I was pleased with the process and convenience of paying the bill online. I highly recommend Carroll Plumbing for their professional and dependable plumbing services.
I'm in a rental and my landlord has sent Carroll to the house twice, they are always incredible communicators, on-time, and the issue is corrected after one visit!
We have used Carroll for over 10 years on our home and on a rental house. They have consistently been the best. Good response, professional technicians, fair prices. I called them over the holiday freeze because a rental house furnace broke. They got a guy out that day & got the furnace going. This has happened for us every time.

I called in urgent repair of my water heater at my dog grooming business. They had a technician at my shop in a hour. He had me up and running and when the water heater quit working later in the day they came back that afternoon. As the heater was under warranty they were able to to install anew one the next morning. I was amazed at the prompt and friendly service.
I reached out to Carroll Plumbing & Heating to see what was going on with the A/C unit at my rental property. David returned my call promptly and we scheduled an appointment to investigate the issue. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and able to answer all my questions. The pricing was very fair and reasonable. The install crew was very friendly, both introducing themselves upon entering the home. The system was swapped out quickly and they made sure I understood the new system prior to leaving. I was very happy with the service provided by Carroll Plumbing & Heating. They are easy to work and I highly recommend.
Carroll Plumbing and Heating installed my new gas hot water heater. Their technicians did an exceptional job. They were professional, polite, knowledgeable, and respectful of me and my home. Dave and Zach installed the gas hot water heater. Dave made sure that he answered all of my questions and that I knew how the new hot water heater worked with my Aqua Therm furnace. It was a pleasure working with multiple technicians from Carroll Plumbing and Heating.

Our hot water heater died and we were able to get a estimator out in the morning and the heater replaced in the afternoon. They were professional, friendly and easy to do business with. Highly recommmend!
I called Carroll to do some weekend work on my AC unit that was not cooling properly. The man added coolant to the system and got it working again, however, advised me to get a leak check, which I understood. Not even five days later it stopped cooling effectively again so this time a different company came out to look at it. He said there was such an obvious leak that there was liquid outside of the unit and looking inside you could see it was wet as well. Hard to believe it wasn’t like that when Carroll came…when I spoke with supervisor all he said was “how can we make this right? Can I quote you a new unit?” No, I would like my labor cost refunded from an almost $500 expense that lasted five days. He denied all blame.
I’ve had several occasions to use Carroll Plumbing and they have always been great. Today was no exception. I had an emergency and they were able to stay on top of their schedules to work us in. Problem quickly solved. Thanks for the fast and efficient service!
I can't attest to the quality of their work since I could not get them to return my phone calls and set up an appointment. To be fair I did have one exchange with what they call and "estimator" who was supposed to get back to me (and this was after my 4th call) but he never did. And to be fair (a second time) I realize that during the pandemic plumbers, electricians, appliance and HVAC repairman are extremely busy.
We have used Carroll’s plumbing after seeing multiple positive reviews on the NextDoor app. Truly a great group of staff. From management who helped to troubleshoot an item, to Albert who specializes in sewer-related items, to Dustin, Phillip and Jamaine. We had the whole crew it seems at one point of another to our 1940’s bungalow to assist with old house issues. Schedulers are also always pleasant and responsive. Knowledgeable employees who consistently deliver great service!
I have used Carroll for everything from installation of a ducted minisplit a/c system to repair work on an aged water boiler heating system and have found them to be excellent on every job. They are 100% transparent on billing, if a job takes less time than what was budgeted the final bill reflects time spent on the job rather than the estimate. Just wonderful folks.

Best in Richmond by far. I am a Landlord and every single time I have had a problem they have responded immediately, this has been going on for over 10 years, I am absolutely delighted that we have such a fine provider of important community service. Keep it up! Thank you Carroll.
In comparison with substantial work a competitor (DW Hennessey) completed for us (multiple sinks etc.), the ~$400 we paid a while back to snake a toilet is really bad value. 4.1 stars appears unjustified.
