They worked with me on the appointment time due to my work schedule. The technician told me something that I never knew, that you should flush your water heater once every year. The only issue I had was it seemed a little pricey, $2800 for a water heater.

I cannot recommend this company I’m not one to leave reviews, but I must share my experience with Michael & Sons. We recently moved to the Chesapeake, VA area (military family) and became aware our water heater was leaking. I called Michael & Sons because they appeared at the top of my Google search and seemingly had great reviews. They were able to send someone out ASAP via an easy online booking, which I appreciated. He was very friendly and shared my options for purchasing a new water heater. He came back the very next day for install. Everything was fine. After he left, I began to notice the hot water in our sinks and bath tubs smelled like chemicals. My husband, who was underway at the time, was not home to help verify this for me. I called Michaels & Sons back and asked them if this was normal? I also have a toddler at home and am expecting my second child. I was not comfortable using the water, let alone bathing my child in it. The installer came back and reassured me, though his explanation was that it was likely the adhesive (not the proper term) he used, which he showed me is non-toxic. He told me it was normal and the smell should go away “in a few days.” I felt so frustrated because this didn’t feel normal. The smell was so awful and it made me scared. I ended up asking my neighbors, who came over and verified the smell for me. They also said it is NOT NORMAL. I call the company back and end up crying to the receptionist because I’m frustrated and just spent over $3,000. A manager called me back and tried to give me a chemistry lesson in water heater installation. I felt like I was gastlit over and over again. I’m just an emotional pregnant woman. My neighbor was the only one who offered me solid advice, spend the next few hours filling and draining our bath tubs. After a few hours (and so much wasted water), the smell finally went away. Fast forward two weeks and we have the city inspector come out to inspect the job. He highlighted a few major areas

Had an a/c leak, found this company on Google. Their website made scheduling an appointment extremely easy and they had openings almost immediately. Showed up on time, found the issue and repaired it all in less than 2 hours. They also offered free restoration estimates for the damages and had someone come out for an estimate less than 48 hours later. Quick, easy, polite and knowledgeable. They will be my first call for any other issues they offer service for in the future.

Michael & Sons came out this morning to replace my Heating and HVAC system. Very professional 3 man crew. They installed new ducting, a ecobee smart thermostat. They cleaned up after completion, and I was really glad I picked this company. And only one day to install equipment. Thanks to Michael & Sons, we are ready for any weather!

I am changing my review from 2 stars to 1 star. I was charged $250 for the electrician to come out and not fix my problem. My problem came back the following day. I had a friend come and help me the next day and they were able to fix the problem. The company contacted me asking why I rated them 2 stars. I told them the above information. They wouldn’t provide me a refund because i couldn’t prove with an invoice what the real problem was. Then they offered me $100 store credit if i changed my review to a good review. I will not be bribed. Don’t go with this company.

Michael & Sons was very professional, prompt, and responsive. I had several slow leaks in the lavatory sinks in a bathroom. Two sinks - both needed new faucets installed and new hot/cold water supply valves replaced. The technician did excellent work. However, they were incredibly expensive. I purchased the faucets and valves - roughly $200 - from Home Depot. The technician worked at the house for 3 1/2 hours to do the work. Cost was $1,500. Ridiculous to have to pay that much just for labor to have sink faucets replaced. Great work. Probably can’t afford to use them again.

Ridiculous pricing and procedures. Paid $260 and nothing got fixed. Some of my outlets went out so I called them and they told me okay it's 70 dollars for an electrician to come out and tell you your problem; he looked at the outlets and within 5 minutes of getting here he said it would be 260 dollars to troubleshoot and fix the problem. Like did I not call you to come and troubleshoot the problem for $70 in the first place? After I paid the 260 maybe 20 minutes later he said it was more things than he thought and said it would be another 230 to fix it. Absolutely not so I had him leave and STILL paid 260. Nothing was fixed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. UPDATE 1 MONTH LATER: After I contacted them at their request because of my bad review they proceeded to do absolutely nothing. My Mom came to visit and fixed it in 10 minutes. Do not use this company.

We have used Michael & Son services twice now and have been amazed at their prompt service, professionalism, attention to detail, and outstanding communication, starting with their call center and scheduling an appointment all the way through to the completion of the job. I called at 9am and had an appointment scheduled between 10am and 1pm the same day. The call center notified me at 11am that the technician would be running late due to the current job running long, but assured me that I was next and would be seen. About 10 min. later, the call center found a technician that was available and rerouted him to keep the 10am-1pm window. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call from Seth at 11:15 telling me that he was on the way! Seth did a fantastic job replacing a faulty frost-proof outdoor faucet the first time we used Michael & Son, so I was confident that Seth would do an outstanding job for us this time as well. Seth was friendly, respectful, professional, but most importantly he was extremely competent. He fixed the problem within 20 minutes and for far less than what was quoted. Seth is honest and reliable, a trait that is very hard to come by today. Michael & Son provide pictures, documentation, and outstanding communication throughout the process . They take great care to leave your home as clean or cleaner than when they arrive. When you call for a plumber you just know that you are going to pay the world--it's expected. With Michael & Son, however, you are not only getting value for the price, but you have the peace of mind knowing that the job is being done right.

I dont normally leave reviews and I might not have if it hadn't been for the tech that worked on fixing my leak. Sadly this was because of quest pipes and a leak foundunder the concrete slab which I figured was going to be expensive and look like a disaster zone. My technician Gage was very thorough and walked me through all that needed to be done as well as payment plans available. I work from home and i cant say enough about Gage. The noise was actually minimal despite having to use a jack hammer to get to the leak. He was very professional and left the job site clean with as minimal "tearing up" of the area that was necessary. So thank you Gage for your hard work, thorough walk through and keeping the repair area as small and clean as possible and just generally being a nice and patient guy, it was greatly appreciated!
