Taurus Mechanical replaced my 20+ year old A/C condenser and furnace in a professional, responsive way. The system they installed was highly ranked and represented a great value. I highly recommend Taurus for any A/C or heating issues you have. They had previously installed two Nest thermostats, also at a fair price.
Our AC was out. We called John, and he came out within just a few hours and had the problem fixed very quickly. Courteous and honest service, which was also our experience several years prior.

Shout out to Taurus Mechanical for their quick response getting to my house to get my AC going again. My thermostat went out on Mother’s Day morning, so my AC didn’t work.😬 Thermostat was old and quit working but they were at my house Monday morning and quickly replaced it. Great service and prices! I used Taurus one time to fix my heater and their price was reasonable, so I decided to use them second time. However trust doesn’t last long! Second time I feel completely ripped off. I was charged $1152 to replacing a motor which costs around $400 online. I will not use them again and I would not recommend their business to anyone either.
I have used Taurus several times and have invariably dealt with two people---the owner John and his associate, Robert. They are both exceptional. Courteous, responsive, honest and really good at what they do. After trying many HVAC people, they have become my go-to simply because they are extremely honest and this is something I have had trouble with a few others I have dealt with. I usually don't write reviews but a recent incident has prompted me to post something. On Christmas eve, the coldest day in Houston, my elderly parents heating "broke down". We were very concerned if someone will come on Christmas eve. Not only were Taurus extremely responsive, they assured me that despite the large number of calls they plan to leave no one without heat. As promised, they (Robert in this case) arrived on time. It turned out to be a very minor issue so was resolved within a minute. Since it was so minor they refused payment (--in fact, I had to insist on giving them something). I have used them both for my house as well as my parents. I strongly recommend them!
John has been installing, servicing and repairing my HVAC units for years. He is easy to deal with, honest, fair and above all, does quality work.
Robert came out to fix our hvac & provide a 2nd opinion. They blew us away with their honesty. Our first quote from Abacus was $25,000. Taurus fixed it for under $200. I will ALWAYS use this company & refer anyone to them. I'm so thankful.
John and his lead tech Robert were very quick to come by our house when we started having AC troubles. In the beginning of August, one of the hottest months, when everyone else had a 1-2 day wait before even coming by, Robert came by the same day. Good, honest and local folks. Thanks guys!
Excellent service, quick response time - saved us when we came back from out of town, only to find our house at an unreasonable temperature. They came same day.
What a fantastic business!!! It was highly recommended to me by an extraordinarily professional auto repair service owner who services my car, and Taurus Mechanical, Inc. really did an incredible job for me. They perfectly determined the best economical way to fix my heater system, and they were extremely fair with everything. John took my call and exhibited a great mastery of his profession. And Kevin did an absolute outstanding job of repairing my heater. Other companies were telling me all kinds of details that were either completely untrue and/or very suspicious (including a highly awarded Houston company,) and one of their techs that checked out my heater was totally off base with his final analysis!! Naturally, he recommended the most unnecessary and expensive course of action to resolve my heater problem!!! I say buyer beware everywhere about everything!!! It's the ultra-unfortunate way of this world!!! But this company is really truly outstanding!!!
John Theriot is just amazing. Last summer when our AC unit failed, he got it up and running in less than an hour (when a few others said that it could not be fixed). He explains the problem very well and provides all options. He installed a new AC unit this week and quality of work is fantastic.
John Theriot is a family friend and the absolute best man in the business. He will NEVER try and make you pay a higher price or get you to commit to something unnecessarily. I called him in tears because I had someone tell me I needed a new system which they quoted at $15k. He sent Kevin over and he took care of me for nowhere near $15k. Have had zero issues since they came to fix it and my energy bill has gone way down. Don't use anyone else. Ever.
Had an issue with my fan motor on my unit and John was prompt in getting back to me and Kevin was able to come out to check things out as fast as they could. Had to get the fan motor replaced and Kevin tried to see if the motor was still under warranty and it was but because it was under the previous owner name, he couldn't get them to fulfill the warranty. Just glad that he tried though and he did an great job installing the new motor and accessing the system to see how things were working. He noticed that the unit had low freon so he helped us out with that and just really gave us honest insight on any possible future repairs that may be needed along with anything else we needed to look out for. Great work, personable people that are honest while doing work at a fair price. Would highly recommend them and will have them come out for anything we my need in the future.
I have use Taurus before over the years for maintenance and other minor repair work. So when it is time to replace both furnaces, I ask John to provide quotes. Received a very reasonable price so I went with Taurus. John and his crew show up on time and were able to get it done within the same week I sign the proposal. They were in and out in less than half a day and keep everything clean and neat inside the house. John test the system and gave instructions on using it. All and all, I am very happy with Taurus's work and highly recommended for their professional work, reasonable prices, and timely services.
John was on time. My issue was resolved in 3 hours from the time I contacted Taurus Mechanical. It costed me much less than I thought. Very Honest and Professional. A joy to do business with them. You are treated fairly and the work is impeccable. I’d give them 10 Stars if I could. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

I have finally found an HVAC company I can trust! John Theriot and Kevin Voigt are true professionals. Kevin was able to quickly identify the reason my AC unit was not cooling. John sent me a detailed written proposal designed to correct the problem at a very reasonable cost. Unlike other HVAC companies I have dealt with, neither John or Kevin tried to 'up sell' me on equipment/features I did not need. They did exactly what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. Their crew worked efficiently and effectively and had me back up and running in no time. I highly recommend Taurus Mechanical for your HVAC needs. I will be using them for mine from now on.
John Theriot and his lead technician Kevin were amazing and the guys that worked on the ducts to replace them were super quick and efficient (I even heard them singing while working, goes to show a good work environment!) The prices were really fair and communication is on point! I will work with them again!
We have had two great experiences with Taurus Mechanical in the last couple of years. John Theriot is great, responsive, respectful and looking to help. Both times our AC has gone out they've come out to our house quickly, and fixed the problem fast and for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
