The crew helped me understand how to get better efficiency out of my aging units, which is rare to find in a contractor. There was no opportunism in the recommendations, and sorted my issues out in a jiffy. This is the 3rd locally based company I’ve used and by far the most trustworthy.
Had a very pleasant and professional experience with Northern Liberties! From the initial phone call, Virginia was very informative and laid out different options and price points for me to get the best deal! Nestor arrived on time and provided me with all the details for the service. He was exceptionally professional and took care of my system and home as if it were his own. He left the area clean and tidy! I would absolutely recommend Northern Liberties Heating & Air Conditioning and will use them again in the future when the need arises! If Nestor services your area, you have to go with him for all your heat/ac needs. Instead of just suggesting replacing the unit or a bunch of its expensive parts like many of the big companies in the Philly area do, he thoroughly investigated the issues we were having until a solution was found. Will definitely be using him for any future problems that we have and for regular maintenance of our unit.
Never returned the call or anything. If you're looking for someone for repairs or anything, just stay away from this company and don't waste your time.
Nestor was very helpful and came to service my A/C unit the same day I called. Fortunately it was nothing serious, but I will be calling them again when the time comes! Edit: (Very) long story short, heating unit needed to be serviced after my initial review and Nestor was as reliable as always. It was a whole ordeal, but in the end it was figured out and fixed. I wish I could give two 5 star reviews because Virginia and Nestor deserve it!
Nestor is the best! Frankly, had a relatively small job that took longer than expected due to waiting for a part to come in. Nestor was so responsive and treated my issue with the same amount of importance as I did. I can't say enough positive things about his work!
Best around— even though I continued to have problems after they had come out I knew it wasn’t because of the work they did it was because our system is very old and needed to be replaced. Nestor, Virginia and the crew are all great. Wouldn’t hesitate to use for as long as we’re in the neighborhood
Background: I bought an old house with old HVAC system that needed a full system replacement. I knew the previous system was old but wasn't sure entirely what i needed based on some of the issues i was having (Thermostat not cooling to the set temperature by a few degrees, bad air circulation, musky smell, etc.). I reached out to a few different companies but after speaking with Nestor and Northern Liberties Heating & Air Conditioning it was clear I was going to move forward with them for the work. Nestor came over pretty quickly after I reached out to the number on the site. I mentioned the issues I was having and we walked through the house to breakdown everything that needed attention and what the possible solutions were. He tallied it all up and sent an estimate a couple of days later. He stayed in constant communication with me throughout the process which i appreciated as I had to push back installation a couple of times. In addition to being a great value, I really appreciated how everything was broken down into detail whenever we were talking about the job at hand and the changes he was making as he was making them. I think many contractors can perform the job at hand and probably be fine, but he really provided a lot of sage advice in managing the system moving forward and best practices to extend the life of the system. Removing the old unit and doing a full system replacement has been night and day for the house needed. The air quality, the smell, the circulation and general feel of it when you walk in has improved dramatically and I couldn't be happier. I definitely recommend and will be referring others in the area that may need HVAC work moving forward.
Thanks again! I work in real estate and my clients were given a quote that seemed a little high for an hvac service/tune up, and sure enough, they beat the price and were incredibly easy to work with. It was really nice to be able to text and we also were able to adjust the appointment by a day without any complaints, so that was appreciated as well.

I rarely do reviews , but had too! Just to keep it short and sweet, AC went on of course the hottest recent holiday weekend and we reached out to a few places and just couldn’t get any one out fast enough !! Came Across and called Northern Liberties and Virginia and Nestor were both very helpful and willing to come right out! Very up front , and prices were fair!! Nestor really knew his stuff and fixed the problem , house has been colder than before it broke !! Lately just bad experiences One after another , will definitely be using again if need and referring in future! Thanks again !!!
I had an issue with my AC coolant lines freezing and the system shutting down because of it. I called Nestor yesterday to see if he could come check it out. He came today exactly on time, figured out the issue, and had it fixed in under 2 hours while explaining everything he was doing to me and giving me a few recommendations. Great service, would highly recommend to anyone in the Fishtown/Olde Kensington/Northern Liberties area.
Good place to get all your supplies that you need for your home reasonable price if I have any other problems with anything I will go straight to them first for any household problems you need
Nestor and Virginia are lovely to work with. Extremely responsive and quick to help out in a pinch. Nestor immediately walked me through some bad work that had been done to my home and helped me action the steps to fix the problem. I highly recommend this business.
Nestor replaced my water heater quickly and was super friendly to work with. Good to have a goto plumber thats right in my neighborhood. 10/10.

This is one of the most honest and genuinely helpful businesses I’ve worked with. Just through an over the phone consultation, I feel like I came out smarter about my own AC system. You can tell that Nestor’s priority is helping the customers get what they need, coming off more as a friendly neighbor than a business owner. As long as we live in the area, this team will be our go-to business for HVAC needs.
Called when my AC stopped working suddenly and Nestor was able to come out same day to diagnose the problem. He was able to fix the problem quickly but also explained exactly what was preventing my house from cooling down properly. Nestor’s thoroughness prompted me to go ahead and get my entire HVAC updated. Best decision, especially with the sweltering summer this year. Not only was Nestor incredibly responsive, but after each day explained exactly what they were installing and why. I feel like I gained a ton of knowledge about something that’s so important to my house but I’ve always overlooked. Thank you!
Finally found the local business with excellent service that cares for their customers. I've used Northern Libs twice now and I can tell that these guys know their stuff. Very thorough and transparent when working in my home. Every star is well deserved.
