Had a great experience with this company when I had my sink and faucets upgraded. However after the merge with Reynolds Electric and the big new building on Chad Drive, their process has changed. Now you have to pay $89 for a "flat rate" estimate, and they have no clue as to what even a simply shower cartridge replacement would be. I will be finding my plumbing services elsewhere from now on.
Several years after they installed a new water heater I am SO unhappy. I had a larger tank originally but the person who came out told me it was not possible for me to have a similar or even slightly smaller tank because of code regulations. I've since found out that was completely untrue. Now I'm stuck with a too small tank for our situation. They also installed some kind of device on top of the water tank that is generally only used in commercial situations. It mixes the cold with the hot water. It's been nothing but a headache and has required several visits by another company to repair and is now being removed. I feel like I was taken advantage of and as an elder on fixed income my thought is shame on them.
Saturday night, we experienced a leaky water heater at our home. We called Kevin Cohen Plumbing, and their 24 hour service responded immediately. Evan asked me to text him a photo of the issue, so he could evaluate, and familiarize what part was required before he showed up. When he arrived, He went up to our attic to trace the lines in the house. . Very impressed by his friendly nature at 10PM on a Saturday, especially after working all day. The fees were more than fair for the weekend. Evan & Brandon helped us get to know more about our water heating system, answering all of our questions. The best plumbing experience we ever had! Jason D from Kevin Cohen Plumbing spent the entire day at my house. I had several things that needed to be done. I expected it would take more than one trip to get it all done. Jason stayed until every item was finished. He did a great job (I'm very picky). He was friendly, professional and explained everything he was doing and why. He went out of his way, even doing a couple of extra small things I couldn't reach to do myself. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I have a new unknown spot I was sure was due to a broken sewer pipe. They were here in less than an hour to scope the property and mark where my drain was verses the water. Wasn’t me. Discussed options of where it could be coming from at allay my concerns. After several calls that all pointed me towards this business at least I found all my answers in one place!
They do good work. We just can't get after-hours help fropm them in emergencies due to labor shortages. Not their fault.
The two Jason's were amazing. They went above and beyond fixing our problem. If there was a ten star rating I would give it to them.
They were very clear about how they charge prior to scheduling the appointment. The first technician was pleasant and professional, but was not able to address the thermostat issue on our water heater system. We rescheduled a second visit with Rich, who was very professional and clearly had the experience to determine what needed to be repaired, which he did with expertise. They applied the first "home visit" fee to the second visit and repair, which seemed fair and made the cost reasonable. We will use KCP for our plumbing needs in the future.
Poor service. They did a job fixing a leak in the bathroom guy couldnt figure out how to install the new sink properly had to come back twice still not fixed. Now im doing it myself and called to ask them a question about what they did lady on the phone was rude about how busy they were and they don't answer questions even if i did pay them for nothing.
Please don't use them, their quote was crazily expensive then other plumbers...hourly $135 and dispatch travel charge and they also cheated the labor time, horrible! you better to believe me before getting a quote that's three times more expensive than other plumbers
Surprisingly, the technician was able to show up the same day without a big fuss, just a couple hours after we made the call. He was polite, thorough, professional, communicated what needed to be done to diagnose the problem well, and made sure we received all of the discounts we had coming. He tested his work when he was finished, then cleaned up, and put things back in order. No one likes to unexpectedly fork out a few hundred bucks for the privilege of flushing the toilet, but we still feel we received our moneys worth given the service we were provided. Kevin Cohen Plumbing will be who we call next time if something like this comes up again.
They came out for an emergency sewer backup and quoted us outrageous prices, more than triple what other plumbers charge for the same services. Unfortunately, had to spend $90 just to find that out. We went with Drain Masters instead and definitely made the right choice.
The crew at Kevin Cohen is helpful, accommodating and reasonably priced. I had an emergency this last time when we broke an old irrigation pipe moving a gazebo. The person was out within an hour and fixed the problem quickly and didn't charge me extra. Turned a potential disaster into a quick fix. I will always call them first.
Jason David installed a new water heater at our residence in less than two hours. Very fast and efficient! Highly recommended.
They were able to get a plumber out right away for a tricky repair job. The plumber, David, was one of the most friendly, professional, and hard-working craftsmen I've ever had in my home. Plumbing is never cheap but they took care to charge a fair price for a full day's work, and were able to help me get in touch with other contractors for follow-up work on the repair. Just a great experience overall, if you have a leak then I encourage you to get in touch with this outfit.
One of the few that even called me back. Came to home within a few hours to replace leaking hot water heater. Thank you for your super fast response and to plumber Dave for his great work. I highly recommend Kevin Cohen Plumbing !!
Good people to work with, reliable and reasonably priced. Got out to us within two days and all the work was done in an hour. We’ve had them back again because we had such a good experience.
Very disappointed! We used Kevin Cohen before and had a good experience so when we needed a plumber again they were our first call. This time though we were very disappointed with the outcome. I called due to finding a little water behind our refrigerator and seeing some minor warping on the baseboard. I explained to the guy that came out (won’t post name) what was happening. He proceeded to go under the house, found no water or leaks, tightened the copper line going into the refrigerator and said that should fix it. Meanwhile, he didn’t turn the water back on to even “test” things. I had to do that myself and discovered later that night when I didn’t hear any ice being made that the problem really wasn’t fixed. I know that they don’t do refrigerator repair work but, I thought that maybe by explaining to the guy the “symptoms” it would be a matter of deduction but, don’t say the problem is fixed and then not want to deal with the facts afterwards. I was also told that I potentially had mold on only one floor joist and was referred to a different company to have this checked out. Of course hearing this I called and had them out the next day. Well....no mold!! Thank goodness they came out and did a free estimate! My brother and I ended up discovering the problem!! Horrible customer service after the job is done. Would never use Kevin Cohen Plumbing again.
We were concerned that our rhododendron garden would be disturbed by the installation of a pipeline leading from the new sump pump up to the storm drain. Scott Cox and Tom Jackson showed up with their radio guided drill and guided it under the garden to the pump site. Cole Carter had designed the system and completed the placement. When they left, the garden was untouched. They were such nice people we were sorry to see them go. We cannot praise their work more highly. Many thanks. Madonna and Ken McVicar
