Our system was up and running but no heat just cold air. Called SBS-NC they are Awesome! They were able to fit us in same day. Joe came to check on the issue he is very knowledgeable and professional, all around great guy. He was able to resolve the heat issue same day which we are grateful and appreciative for.

Thank goodness they are NO longer Home Shield contractors! DO NOT use if you have a REAL problem. We have dealt with them for about 6 months. Nothing has been repaired and all we have gotten is excuses. They do the bare minimum
Technician tried to rip us off by telling us we had a leak in our coil, but when we had another HVAC guy come out, they charged the system with nitrogen over a 6 hour period and it never lost psi. After charging the system again, the HVAC unit works like a champ. When SBS came out to charge the system with nitrogen, they were able to get it to produce a hissing noise as if it had a leak, but if the leak were that bad, the system would not have held a 6 hour charge from the second HVAC guy. In essence, our first quote from SBS would have cost us $7,000 with our American Home Shield warranty, but because we got a second opinion, we only had to pay $400 for labor and refrigerant. Don't let SBS do that to you.
I initially called about a leaking AC unit. They came out to look at it and felt our pan needed to be replaced. They scheduled a time and two guys came to my house to replace it. They also replaced another part in the pan that is supposed to turn the system off if water were to go above a specific height. I was told this part was 129. In the mist of replacing the pan they blew a transformer and had to go out and get a new one. Suddenly they looked at their pricing sheet for the part and it was now 169. Clearly I paid for the transformer and the part but I was ok with it, I just wanted the leak to stop so it wouldn't continue to damage our ceiling. They came back "fixed" the transformer, put my unit on fan and left. I have two young children, my husband, my elderly mom was here, our dog and myself living here. My mom mentioned how hot it was getting and within an hour we were sweating. We tried to turn the unit on but nothing so I called SBS back. The same guys came back out and looked at it. Basically told me they were only install guys so someone else will have to come back out. Ok no problem. The general manager came out looked for two hours plus couldn't find the issue. Came up with it was a short fuse in the wall and they would talked to American Home Shield about everything and get the parts overnighted so on Monday or Tuesday we would have it. LOL what a joke! We had to call and check in. They never called us! The girl at the desk would say it's not in yet and can't tell us when it would come in or tell us it should be in tomorrow and I'll call you. Quote "sometimes it takes one to two months for parts to come in" unquote. You gotta be kidding me I know we are in a pandemic but overnighting something should not take that long and for people to be ok with not having AC for that long with a family is a joke! We tried to stay patient. I wasn't asking for a lot just to fix the wrong they created. It's been a week and half now without AC. We are living at my mom's
I had a repair appointment scheduled with this company this morning. I did not receive a phone call prior to the technician coming out to the property although they did send a text message at 7:30 a.m. By the time I got the text and walked around the corner to the property, the technician was gone and had left card in the door. I've never had a contractor fail to call and introduce themselves prior to arrival. I've called the company phone number several times since 8:00 and no one has answered. I also sent an email and a reply text and have yet to receive any acknowledgment.

Received a quote for new a/c unit ($7100) and was told I needed 3 pages of extras that my insurance would not cover. I asked them to break down the cost but they said that was not their policy...American Home Shield (my homeowners insurance) will only pay $1100. The extras amount to around $350 if I bought online...I emailed SBS-NC several times about this w/no response! I didn't want to give them one star but had to. After reading other complaints, it seems I'm not the only one dealing with shady business dealings between SBS and American Home Shield...seems they are in it together.

Your employee Hunter had excellent customer service! He maintained his COVID protections and performed all the necessary services in a timely fashion. I don’t know that he could have done a better job. I would recommend this company to anybody.
The service was excellent!!! Technician text stating he was on the way. He arrived wearing the appropriate face mask. Very pleasant and professional.
Hunter is a pro. He is polite and knows his stuff. Able to diagnose and repair A/C in 30 minutes. Would hire again. Very happy with his work and the company he works for. Called on Wednesday. Came to repair A/C the next day. Couldn't ask for anything more. Plus 60 day warranty on repairs.
Hunter is so professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He takes time to listen, diagnose the issue and then explain the problem thoroughly. I would give him a 20 out of 10.
Great customer service and Hunter was very professional! I continued to have issues with my AC unit losing freon and Hunter made it a point find the problem!
“Pro Technician” installed New Capacitor, left it in box hanging free by the wires and took my mounting bracket with him when he left. Capacitor wires worked themselves loose and AC keeps malfunctioning. Contacted General Manager and we’ll see how they handle the situation.
