Our heater stopped working. Of course it happened at 8 o’clock at night in February. (2/7/23). Our next door neighbor had used Doug for a big job at his house and highly recommended him. We called the next morning as the temperature inside our house dropped to about 55. Doug and his two sons arrived at our house not long after we called. I had good feeling right off the bat. Not only were they professional, and really seemed knowledgeable, but they were also very nice. We were hoping for just a fix to avoid spending an arm and a leg, but after looking at our decades old furnace, Doug said the right play would be to just replace it. What he told us made sense, and his numbers were extremely reasonable. They went right to work. Doug ran out to get the new furnace while his sons began working in our very tight boiler room. Doug’s son Dain was taking care of the thermostat. And when he saw the mount wasn’t really a good fit aesthetically, rather than put it in, and leave it to us to change later on if we didn’t like it… he ran out to get one that looked nicer. They worked for a good 7 hours, only stopping to go out to grab a part they realized they needed. It was clear to me they had no intention of leaving until we had heat again, and I was grateful for that. Our new thermostat has smart technology as I’m sure many do. Dain helped me download the app I needed and walked me through the instructions, giving me his cell in case I had any questions later on. The work was impeccable, and the price Doug quoted at the start was exactly what we paid….doesn’t always happen that way. I can’t say enough about them, my husband said…from now on Doug is our guy for anything related to heat and air conditioning. We have absolutely zero reservations about recommending Doug and his sons to anyone….call them!!!
Abel Air Conditioning came to the rescue! Doug was a godsend for us on one of the coldest days of the winter. He replaced our boiler in a timely manner and did so within the quoted price he first gave us. There was some wrinkles and additional work he did not expect, but he did it all for the same price. Doug and his team are thorough, communicative and completely professional. I would recommend Abel air for all your HVAC needs.

Doug Carver at Abel Air is a professional HVAC servicer - he seems very experienced and well versed in everything about HVAC systems (repair, replacement, etc). He also is honest, providing all available options, and is reasonably priced. It appears to be a small family business (him and his son). He was available immediately and on short notice (we chose consecutive cool days for him to do the replacement). He stands by / guarantees his work: The condenser at our home was shutting off due to overheating - he gave us two options: replace system or a cheaper alternative (keeping a sprinkler on the condenser to keep it cool) - we opted to do the replacement as the system already exceeded its useful life. He replaced everything and replaced our duct/pipes with new ones (originally was going to flush the system but realized they were too old). We also purchased a new wifi/smart thermostat and he was able to help us replace the old one without problem. Finally, he also informed us that our attic fan wasn't working and wasn't allowing proper ventilation to the AC unit and helped us replace that as well. All things were included: replacement, disposal of old system, etc.
I had a 62-year-old boiler. Now, I am happy with my new boiler. It is a Weil McLain Gold WGTO 120,000 BTU oil-fired boiler with a becket burner and a 50-gallon Thermoflo hot water storage tank. Before installing the boiler, Dough came to my house two times: the first time to give me an estimate and the second time to sign the contract. He explained to me what he would do and he was nice enough to answer all my questions and clarify all my concerns. Doug and his crew did the job in a little more than four days. When they finished, there were some issues after the installation but Doug, who lives nearby, came in a timely fashion to solve them. It seems that everything is running well. Dough' warranted his labor plus some boiler parts for 2 years. Doug's price was about the same as other companies would charge: a couple of hundreds more, a couple of hundreds less. So I think that in the end, it was a fair price. I will see how much oil I can save this coming winter!
Abel was able to get a new boiler installed promptly when the existing one failed. They made a few modifications to the system to make the new boiler work with my unusual existing system. Good work.
Doug came by my house promptly to assess my problem and did not charge me for the visit. He then helped me solve an immediate problem with my heating unit over the phone while he was away for the weekend. Subsequently I decided to replace my 25 year old unit with an updated unit which Doug's people did an excellent job of installing and updating me on the process of the installation. During the work on my unit, my mother's water heater broke down. Doug's people made sure I had heat so they could replace my Mom's water heater immediately and then returned to my house to finish the job. I highly recommend Abel Air
Doug was professional and took the time to explain what he was doing. He has decades of experience. The install took longer than we thought but Doug communicated to us through out the process which was much appreciated. We would use Abel Air again.
Abel replaced our gas hot water heater. doug and his folks were friendly, knew their business, and completed the job within a reasonable time at a reasonable price. you can't ask for anything more! we will not hesitate to use them again for any future heating or AC work.
Abel Air did a tremendous job with a difficult and complex installation. They were professional, courteous, completed the job ahead of schedule, and fixed numerous additional problems along the way. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
We recently moved into our home that needed many repairs. Our heating system was one of them. It was old, located in a very difficult spot to access and was just very bad. Everything about it was not right. We got a quote from our oil company to replace the furnace and was quoted something ridiculously high. Way above from my research on the cost of the job. We decided to try the HomeAdvisor app to get additional quotes. From there, we found Abel Air Conditioning. Within minutes from making a request, Doug called me and showed up to my doorsteps. He thoroughly inspected everything and quoted me exactly the price I expected a project of this kind to costs. We agreed to the quote and the next day they were working. The work him and his team did was perfect. They arrived exactly when they said they would come and they were extremely professional. We barely heard them when they worked. Everything came out perfect and we couldn't be happier.
Doug is very competent, nice, honest and extremely helpful. He came super fast, diagnosed the problem in no time, and directed the repair in the most efficient manner. The day started with a failed AC blower, which was fixed very quickly and we could enjoy a cool rest of the day, without breaking the bank. thank you !
Love the work that Doug and his team did for us. I went on google to request a quote and Doug got back to me in a matter of minutes. We talked that night about our HVAC issues and he was able to diagnose over the phone. Him and his team came the very next day! They were very clean and courteous and my family and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend!

My husband and I purchased a home in winter 2019 where there was only a heating system installed. We had a few hot days in the spring and we knew that before the weather got hot, we would have to install an AC. We called Abel Air, we were unsure of what we needed. So when Doug came out to meet us for a consult, he knew exactly what needed to be done. He is very knowledgeable in what he does. Doug was very respectful of our home. His installation was clean and neat. We also needed a new thermostat as we only had one for heating only. He went out the next morning after installation to find one that could work for us. He assured us should anything happen, we could always call him and he will help us however he could. Abel Air prices are as affordable as they could get. The level of professionalism is impressive. We would recommend Abel Air to anyone who needs HVAC installations in the future. He is our go to company and deserves all the recognition he gets.
TLDR: Abel apparently misdiagnosed my problem and did not take sufficient measures to address it. I contacted another HVAC repair company and they identified and resolved my problem very quickly. My air conditioning stopped working over the weekend so I called Abel. They responded promptly and were very open to talking to me on the phone about potential fixes. We scheduled an appointment the very next Monday for a repair. Problems started to arise when Abel apparently misdiagnosed the issues with my AC unit after working for about an hour. According to Abel, my unit had a coil that wasn't functioning. Abel advised replacing the coil. In case that failed, Abel advised replacing my entire AC unit, a very costly endeavor. I was told by Abel that they would call the manufacturer of the coil to get a replacement. I waited for two days and didn't get a follow up from Abel, so I called them. In our phone call, Abel stated they tried to call the manufacturer but wasn't able to get them on the phone. Then they advised me to call instead even though I possessed no technical knowledge of HVAC repair. I was told by Abel that if I didn't hear from them by Thursday afternoon, I would be out of luck. Something didn't sit right about the situation so I called another HVAC repair company Thursday afternoon. They came Friday morning (today) and found out my thermostat was broken. They replaced the thermostat and immediately, my AC unit started working again. I'm no expert in HVAC repair, so all I can see is "fixed" and "not fixed". Interacting with Abel left me in a constant state of "not fixed". The unit was not fixed when they showed up to work. I had to take the initiative to call them for follow ups only to be asked to essentially do their work for them. I was advised that I potentially needed to replace my entire AC unit. This experience was extremely disappointing to me. While I understand paying a contractor to show up is a norm, it was very distasteful to pay only to fi
My central air conditioning broke at the worst possible time, on a week where every day was going to be 90+ and I was in a complete panic. I called one company, and I never got a call back. I called Abel Air, and Doug came the following day. He was able to diagnose the problem right away and had his crew start working on the problem They were clean, very professional, and their price was very fair. I have used Abel to service my central a/c for a number of years. They are extremely responsive to the service needs. I find them reliable and reasonably priced. Will respond promptly to handle a a/c problem.
