Find another company, horrible experience. Reached out to Bell to install a new HVAC system. My home did not have existing ducting and was quoted for a 20 seer heat pump. After paying in full ($30,000) Installation was to occur 6/12-6/14. Installation was not completed in the agreed upon time, and as of today 7/8 the job is still not completed. The initial installation ran more than a week over where I was then told the job completed. Concerned about the service I crawled into my attic to inspect the work and noticed the air purifier I purchased was not hooked up. Bell was unaware and marked the job as complete. My wife and I have reached out to Bell repeatedly and have not gotten any answers to finish the job. On top of that the brand-new heat pump was at least supposed to be hooked up but is not working. It is currently 84 degrees out and 78 degrees in my home. I am now considering legal action.
Set up an appointment for service, but never showed up. Called and talked with the staff next day, who promised to call me the following day to reschedule the missed appointment, but never did. The initial conversation was full of innuendos and condescending. The company has to re-orient the "gatekeepers" as to how to talk with professional customers.
Made my annual maintenance appointment 3 months ago as they were booked. Stayed home from work and they were a no show. I Called them and they said that they wouldn’t be able to come as they had emergency calls. They said they forgot to call me the day before and the morning of the visit. Received a call back as I requested to speak to a Supervisor. Got the call back. Not from a supervisor. Got the standard apology. I was rescheduled for late July. 12-5 window. The whole experience was unacceptable.
Bell Mechanical wasn't my first call, but they were definitely my last. We had a Carrier Heat Pump installed recently for Heat and AC and it's working great. We had several local (big name) companies come out and give estimates, but Bell (specifically Dave) were the only ones to actually properly size the unit we needed. I never felt like we were being oversold or up-charged on anything. Everyone from Colleen, Dave and Giovanni, was a pleasure to work with.
My HVAC system has been giving me problems a few years after Bell installed an entire new system and all new duct work. I have renewed my preventive maintenance contract with them for 15 years and for the last 10 years, they continue to send a service technician to band-aid the situation due to my system leaking refrigerant instead of finding the leak and repairing it. They would just send a tech over to add refrigerant, but they never bothered to find out where the leak was coming from. This appeared to the norm for Bell. Of course, after the warranty expired, they now wanted to charge me $1,500 to fix it last summer, but after several discussions they agreed to roughly $500. It worked for one-month last summer, only to turn on the system this spring with the same issue. Apparently, the slow leak issue continues. I called two weeks ago to renew my contract, setup up my annual preventive maintenance, and request a service call for a refrigerant leak once again. I was told I still had a balance, and they will look into this issue and get back to me. No return call from them for 2 weeks and I also have not received a response to an email from over a week ago. Note - Even the tech they sent last summer to replace the line-set that was supposedly leaking, left after the work was complete and told me the system is running like new. I told him the airflow pressure normally coming from my vents didn't feel right, and as cold. He said it's working correctly and was fast to leave. Guess what.. cold air not blowing from vents and two days later they said they were going to send one of their best technicians to troubleshoot. The next tech was definitely much more competent and recharged the system correctly. WARNING - Your tech released clouds of R410A refrigerant into the atmosphere and should lose his license and be fined. Don't be fooled by the good reviews on here for them. I regret ever having done business with Bell.
We had Bell Mechanical install geothermal heat pumps and an air source heat pump. Given the unusual layout of our house, the project was fairly complicated and also required installation of new ducts and vents. It was a pleasure dealing with Bell throughout the process - professional and competent service in assessing our needs and designing and installing the project. Special thanks to Umair, our main point of contact throughout the process.
The absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. Sure, you’ll pay them to apply for permits but you’ll be on the phone doing all the follow up. Held my check when I was in an emergency situation and didn’t schedule with the town for over a week. Still trying to get my final inspection over a month later.
Workers are great, but I am very disappointed with the scheduling. First, the initial date I was given was changed to a day earlier. Was forced to cut my business trip short or else have to wait who knows how long to be rescheduled. Then, they were supposed to finish the job on Friday, but never showed up. When I called I was told they won't come back until Monday because they messed up and didn't schedule me. Yet another day of work lost and another weekend with no a/c. UPDATE (6/15/23): My HVAC system has been giving me problems since Bell installed it 2 years ago. During the warranty period, they sent repairmen over to band-aid the situation. Apparently, my system had been leaking refrigerant since it had been installed. Instead of finding the leak and repairing it, they would just send repairmen over to add refrigerant, but they never bothered to find out where the leak was coming from. Now that their warranty is up, they want to charge me $2,000 to fix it. Unfortunately, I now have to take legal action against them. Don't be fooled by all of the good reviews on here for them. There is new management now, and most of the good reviews are from the previous management. I regret ever having done business with Bell.
We spent $17,000 to install a new HVAC system with this company. We signed a service contract, when we had a problem in the winter they never showed up. We received our new service contract in the mail and it’s three times the amount of what we already paid and they have not serviced our unit yet at all. We decided to go with a different company that’s a fraction of the cost and we can actually get an appointment within a couple weeks. we requested we be refunded for our service contract and we were told they’re not going to refund our money but they’ll come service our unit two months from now, that’s absolutely ridiculous for all the money we spent. They have been bought out by another company do not use Bell mechanical!
We have been using Bell for years for our AC service and repairs and have always been very happy with the company. We recently had our annual maintenance with Kevin and he was excellent! We had not had him service the house before and we have several units. Kevin was very personable, patient and courteous and he went above and beyond to make sure all units were working at their best, including our very tricky loft and basement units. It's so nice to have such wonderful service to rely on!
We were extremely pleased with the A/C maintenance performed today by Travis. He was thorough in checking every part of our system. He took care of all "problems" and went above and beyond in his service.
I phoned Bell and the first person I spoke with was Dave Hopper who was very informative and helpful in choosing the perfect A/C unit for my home and he gave me peace of mind. I then spoke with Flo and Colleen who also were very kind and helpful in scheduling the appointment. My last point of contact was the installers of my new A/C George and Mario who were professional, kind and helpful. They all really cared about getting the job done with professionalism, kindness and will keep them in mind for any maintenance and/or other services. Very happy with the whole process and will recommend to my friends and family ! Thank you Bell Mechanical Best always, Diane
The crew from Bell Mechanical did an excellent job installing my mini-split system. When the system needed a tune-up they were able to diagnose and repair the issue (under warranty). Steve and Travis were efficient and the absolute professionals. I want to extend my a special thanks to Colleen who coordinated my repair. I recommend Bell Mechanical without reservation.
Professional installation at a competitive price. Project manager spent time with us discussing options. Overall a good experience. ________________________________________________________________ <updated> Found damages caused by installers. Waiting for Bell to fix them. Will update <UPDATE> Installers failed to re-power condensate pump, causing water to flood under my laminate flooring. Bell came in, took pictures, and that's the last I heard from them, they turned it over to their insurance company who never came to investigate. Repair bill for damages was $10,000. ____________________________________________________ Despite insincere comment of concern by the owner, Mr. Bell never contacted me directly, and I was forced to claim the damages under my own insurance, which ultimately contributed to major problems with my insurance carrier. This "small" error ultimately cost me thousands of dollars in out of pocket expense. Avoid this company AT ALL COST !
I am Very Disappointed ! I had schedueled an appointment for my Oil Burner maintenance servicing last month on October 3, 2021 and your earliest was November 17, 2021. I called this morning, days before the date to reconfirm, only to be told you will be unable to come on scheduled date and push me off into December now. This is very unprofessional and not the way to win over new customers. I have wasted a month and half waiting on your company when I should have contracted with others to perform this weather before the winter season.
Literally scheduled over a month ago for a heating repair. Today should have been the appointment. Since I didn't get a confirmation call, I just called them to then be told that it's cancelled and they were just about to call me. Kind of the service you expect when you have no heat at home and it's hard to take off days from work to be around for them. "But we can give you an appointment in a week." I'm a returning customer which makes this even worse. Would not recommend!
Bell's mechanic "Eddie" serviced our AC system today and both the experience and service Eddie provided was excellent! As Eddie described his work: "I service my customers with the very best service I can provide" Eddie certainly did his job well, with skill and precision. Bell Mechanic has a great employee and mechanic in Eddie. "Well done Eddie". God bless! Michael and Maryann
My Central Air unit fan wasn't working. Pete , one of the techs, came over and easily diagnosed the issue. He was able to get it repaired and up working for the rest of our summer! I would recommend Bell to anyone who needs help with their HVAC units. They will support you to get you what is needed. Dave , on the sales side, is also honest in what is going on with your units.
I used Bell Mechanical to install 3 of the ductless heating & A/C Carrier units in my home. It was a great experience and I am loving the units so much! The team that came was absolutely fantastic! John was great when he came out for the estimate. He was extremely kind and thorough. The team that came to install the units a few weeks later was also fantastic! They were all very friendly and very neat. Milo, who I communicated with most, was extremely professional, kind and informative. I highly recommend Bell for any services and I plan on using them for any maintenance or issues with my home in the future.
7/27/22 update. Still do not recommend. At my demand, Bell purchased two portable AC units for my house until our system was fixed. We’ve waiting over SIX weeks and the part was delivered and a serviceman came to the house to install it, only to find out it was the wrong part. We’ve no clue when this will get resolved but I’m looking to return this system and never do business with Bell, again. I’m also not dealing with Tyler anymore at Bell. He has been the least helpful during this entire experience. Original review:Don’t recommend. Had a $13k heating/cooling system installed by them a couple of months ago that has had problems since day one. Now, we have no air conditioner. Bell has come to the house, twice, with no success (even though each time they said they fixed the problem). Now, we need to wait two weeks for the part (assuming Bell got it right the third time) and THEN we can be put on their schedule. No air conditioner with two young kids in the house and not a care in the world from this company. I will never use them again.
