We moved across the country into a house with 1940s issues, an ailing (and not up-to-code) electrical system, and a swamp cooler which had seen better days. Our plan was to install mini splits in both the main house and the casita. From the initial meeting and subsequent bid, Ron G. was both knowledgeable and responsive. He knew his subject matter, he didn’t oversell or promise anything he couldn’t deliver, and he made some suggestions to save us money and time. My husband met him, then I did, and we were both impressed by his familiarity with the systems, great explanations, and the ability to pivot when a change was requested. We had several electricians out to our home; all promised us an estimate, but we weren’t getting any timely response. When we explained this to Ron, he immediately pulled out his phone and called two vendors with whom he had worked. Within several minutes, the owner of one business stopped by, assessed the situation, advised what could be done, and named a date to have his electricians come and trace our mystery electrical circuits. When we discovered that the swamp cooler on the casita wasn't working, Sean came out to diagnose the problem, explain the issues, and recommend a solution. Our First Rate team of Kyle and Sean showed up early, with a great attitude, ready to work. The fact that they maintained this demeanor despite being 1) over six feet tall and 2) stuck in the crawl space for two days was impressive. They worked tirelessly, supplemented on one day by a few other First Rate technicians (Bruce, Jake, and Jude(?) Please excuse me forgetting their names, they were so silent and unobtrusive, I really didn’t get a chance to ask them), and even through the long days, they cleaned everything up (including vacuuming) before they departed every day. Dario came out to fix my AirCon. He was very professional and courteous. Didn’t hesitate to answer any questions and seemed upfront and honest. I honestly felt comfortable having him here. I will definitely continue to use First Rate for all of my AC needs.
They were able to work me into the schedule quickly. Communication was outstanding. Dave called and showed up early. Dave completed the job quickly and explained and showed me what he was doing. So appreciative as we have cool air in the house once again. Company follow up was terrific!
The First Rate Plumbing Heating and Cooling installed a mini-split ductless cooling and heating system in our home. The cost of the system was quite reasonable. The staff, from the office staff to the salesperson and installers, were very professional and responsive. The company's quality of service is excellent and done with minimum disruption in our routine. The new system works well, and we are delighted with the work. We highly recommend the company to others and look forward to using First Rate for our future heating and plumbing needs.

Very professional Darion was so professional kind patient considerate So very well informed of his work. He gave me so much information that I have never had before. I was very pleased with him Good job on finding him. Never knew all the things he told me about the company and what they do. I have been a customer for years and never been told about all the services they have. He was upset that ECO Electric did not clean up after themselves so Darion did. And I hope he let them know about it. He also informed me that ECO should of replace the air conditioner and did or informed me about it. He is a huge asset to the company. He needs to train others to do the same. He is incredible!!!!!
The serviceman Adam was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He serviced our AC unit and had it up and running in no time at all. We were so impressed with their service that we signed up for the company’s membership program. We would definitely recommend this company for any of your plumbing needs.
As a business, we have tried to set up an account with this plumbing company for over two months. Emails and calls are not returned. This company sounded very interested in getting our business when we made the initial call but we have received no follow up which is unfortunate. Obviously they have plenty of business so no need for more.
First two tech services were very good. They sent a different teck that was inexperienced. He told me the water pump not functioning when it was. Later I told him to test it and it was working. He didn't check to see if the cooler was cooling the way it should . The fan belt was bad and a new one would cost me 100$. I will get my son to put it to par. I paid $7.50 for new fan belt.
Kyle did an excellent job for us, repairing a leaking pipe. He was prompt, knowledgeable, performed quality work, and cleaned up the work area very nicely. All of this was done at a fair price . Based on my experience, I would highly recommend First Rate Plumbing and Heating

I've used this company twice for A/C and furnace maintenance. After the first visit, I purchased their service maintenance contract. So far I'm pleased with the service I've received.

I want to give kudos to Brad and Adam who came out to do service contract HVAC system maintenance and boiler maintenance service this morning. They were very professional and went over any issues with me. They took their time and helped me get off to a good start in my new home. I appreciate that they took time to make recommendations for my systems. I am really glad to be working with First Rate Plumbing Heating Cooling in Albuquerque!
Daniels pluming, heating, and air conditioning actually took time to help me out - 5 stars to them. RE: Follow up - no message was ever left. If you would like, we can pull my Verizon log records and figure out on your end who is lying or dropping the ball - or, simply chock it up as another "misunderstanding" on your behalf. I wanted to order a portable Breezair MobileMax swamp cooler by Seeley International - and the lady who took my call blew me off. She said they only spec out and install new products. I tried several times to explain what the product is and she wasn't having it because when we have never seen something before - it doesn't exist (i.e., a quarks, black holes, etc.). I finally said "I'll pay for you to send out a tech, spec out my warehouse, order the unit, unbox the unit and plug it in if that's necessary, but it sounds like you don't want to order this product, despite being an authorized contractor of Seeley International". She realized I saw right through her, and said she would look into it and call me back - which never happened of course. I feel bad for this lady. www.Albuquerque Never Too Late Counseling. Understandably, shelter in place had a significant impact on a lot of us. It's not your fault who you are, but it is your responsibility. In a nut shell, this lady refused to order a product and have it "installed" because it fell outside their expertise or the installation would not warrant enough hours to justify doing a new job - despite them being an authorized Seeley International Contractor. I'll reach directly out to Seeley and see what they have to say about this level or service. I simply don't think a company should refuse to provide service because it's not a text book commercial install. Mark up the product and make a little money - they all order through Johnstone Supply warehouse anyways.
Heater/furnace inspection, maintenance Daniel/Danual ( not sure of the spelling) was early, answered all my questions, showed me features of my furnace. Made me feel safe about the operation of the furnace, showed me fail safe features. Didn’t try and sell me a furnace but troubleshooting what may be wrong. Did state may need one in the near future. Did offer a maintenance package for winter and summer for refrigerated ac. Very affordable and will use this company for all my needs!!! Thank You
We woke up one morning last week quickly discovering that our furnace was not functional. Our furnace's warranty was expired and we wanted to use a different HVAC service. We had a strong recommendation to try First Rate PHC. I called and talked to Shirley who said she would see if they could free up a technician that could come out that same day because we had no heat! She was successful and we scheduled an appointment for the latter part of the day. She followed up with an email confirmation and then when the time window approached, called back and informed us that the tech (Sean) was running behind. Sean indeed worked us in at the end of his day because he wanted to be able to get any needed parts ordered ASAP. I was convinced the problem was a defective gas valve. Sean did a thorough investigation of several possible causes and because of my interest showed and explained to me exactly what he was doing. He ultimately identified the problem (not the gas valve) and was able to fix it right then. Excellent, timely, and professional service for sure from both Shirley and Sean. First Rate will certainly be our go-to provider from now on!
