Steven was very knowledgeable and was very helpful and kind in getting my central air unit up in running again before it got to hot on a Saturday. I called that morning and he was here when promised. He did have the capacitor replacement which was the cause of my unit to fail. Awesome job Steven and thank you so much.

5 years ago they did a quick fix of changing out the coupler on my furnace, quick and easy, good price. We've since had them completely replace the furnace that was 27 yrs old w a broken heat exchanger. They arrived at 8:30am and were done by 3:30 or so. Always called before arrival and kept me updated throughout the install. Also had them come out and install a separate a/c unit and fix one another company put in incorrectly as it wasn’t blowing out cold air. Every employee I've interacted w has been great, Riley, Russ, and Scott who came out to do the furnace estimate. Update: while the technicians have been very skilled, and this is not related to their work, the update (and lower rating, down to a 3 from original 5) is due to the products installed. I would caution anyone that has a Bryant AC or furnace installed (by any company) We had RO H&C do the furnace (model:915SB) Nov 2019 and AC Aug 2020 (both Bryants) the furnace is now completely fried due to design of Bryants AC condenser coil (N shaped instead of A) so condensation was excessive enough to completely destroy the electronics of the furnace. Bryant won’t cover their warranty, claiming “secondary damage” even though it’s from their parts. I was advised by a diff HVAC company to change out the condenser coil to avoid the excessive water. Pictures are of units <4 years old.

We had multiple options, however we selected Royal Oak Heating, Cooling & Electrical because they have an excellent reputation and their proposal was easy to understand and well within our price point. Our sales representative (Mike) was knowledgable, friendly and accommodating. The two technicians, Russell and Mason were great! They were very respectful of our property. They kept us informed all through the installation process. We are very happy we chose Royal Oak Heating, Cooling and Electrical, and we will highly recommend them to our friends, family and associates.

Joshua was polite, friendly, clean and took the time to explain everything he did. ROHC should be proud that their company is well represented by him.

The office staff and the technician who completed the maintenance were all friendly, thorough, and helpful. Joshua, the technician, was very conscientious about providing all the information and instructions I might need, as well as meticulous in the completion of his service checklist. I have been using their services for many years with never a complaint.

Typically, we get two estimates for work to be done in our home. We like supporting local businesses and a neighbor used Royal Oak Heating and Cooling for her furnace, A/C install who gave the company a good rating. We decided to go with ROHC without getting another quote. Our experience started with our estimator Nathan. He spent a good amount of time looking at our current HVAC. We have a finished basement so our options were limited to two scenarios. He quoted our options which included a credit for our recently purchased preventative maintenance contract as well as a new humidifier at no charge. He also told my husband that he had to carve a large hole in the drywall and install an access door for the blower of the new furnace to pass inspection. When the installers arrived, they were held up by 2.5 hours due to the limited space that was available for the equipment. The lead installer told my husband at one point that the way they were going to put the equipment in would "probably pass inspection". Meanwhile, the other installer was draining the current A/C unit of coolant in our backyard. My husband told the lead installer that "probably" wasn't good enough and he was concerned that our current equipment was being de-installed. The conversation got a bit heated at this point. Please note the lead installer did apologize. Let me also say that if I were the installer and had arrived at a job where the estimator didn't accurately sell the job, I would be quite upset as well. A Service Manager was called into the job and they figured out a way to install the job adequately. The access door wasn't needed after all for the blower due to the position of the furnace. As to the "free" humidifier..... The installer told us that Nathan had included a unit that had to be drained outside, which wasn't possible with our installation. They put the old humidifier back on the furnace after turning off the water to the house (which we weren't told about in advance). Th

The technician was very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and helpful. He called prior to his arrival to let me know he was on his way and arrived promptly. He was thorough in his explanation of my options in servicing of my a/c unit. The company offers a reasonably priced maintenance plan, which saved me some money and I can count on them following through with their service. I highly recommend Royal Oak Heating, Cooling, and Electrical.

Mixed Review : 5/30/2023 Positives: This is the second time in 3 years I’ve used RO Heating & Cooling for my central AC service. Riley was the technician on both my service calls. He was on time, professional, and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him. On 7/17/2020 my AC did not feel cold. Riley was there for about 30-40 minutes. He checked the system pressures, furnace air flow, and cleaned the condenser coil. He had me replace the furnace filter. The system stabilized and all diagnostic checks were normal. About 5-10 minutes later, my air was cold again. This may have been because I had the DTE energy interruptible service for my AC unit. Maybe I didn’t wait long enough for it to turn on before calling for service. My total invoice was the $75.00 (the diagnostic/trip fee) only…Very reasonable. On 5/30/2023 the fan motor on my outside AC condenser unit was humming but would not start. Riley knew what the problem was before looking at it. The capacitor (35+5 mfd dual) had failed and needed to be replaced. He had one in his truck and the AC started working fine 5-10 minutes later. Total time on site was about 30 minutes and he never had to enter my house…Great. Questions/Concerns: For service on 5/30/2023, it was almost a 5 star review. Are these fees and labor overpriced? The minimum diagnostic/trip service fee was raised from $75.00 to $85.00. Why? I live less than 2 miles from their store (Stephenson Hwy in Troy). I was charged $106.48 for the replacement capacitor. My local Ace Hardware store sells the same rated capacitor for about $25.00. So I guess the part markup and/or labor is about $80.00 for a 15 minute replacement? My biggest question/concern is the new $46.25 charge to rinse off the condenser coil with my garden hose. This takes less than 2 minutes! Water only…no chemicals! (About the same price as my 3 month water bill from the city)! I had just cleaned the coil of all debris 2 days before. I did the work of turn

We have done business with ROHC for many many years. This week we had a steam pipe rust out under the bathroom floor and break off. Jake came over to assess the situation. He looked at the bathroom and the basement to check out the pipe situation. He gave us the best case scenario and the worse case scenario concerning our situation. It didn’t take him that long. We were presented with a $175 bill with nothing being done. It was an assessment. It took him another 15 minutes to write up a rambling suggestion of what needs to be done with the emphasis on ROHC would not be responsible for any demolition or repair to the walls and floor. I understood that when he told me that. My issue is a couple of things: I paid $175 for nothing. I didn’t find the write up helpful in fact I was very stressed out about it. I understand sometimes things in this house can get very expensive since it was built in 1926 but I realized that the next time I consider calling ROHC I would call other options first. I have nothing against jake he has been here before but I do question the amount of money charged for an assessment and additional half hour when all I got was a rambling assessment telling me what ROHC wouldn’t do. EDIT: ROHC reached out to me with my issues. I appreciate that and we rectified the problem at hand. I do have to say that makes a big difference for me. I am glad this company did this, most would not. I will call upon them again in the future. ML

Josh was great! He gave me a courtesy call to alert me that he was 10 minutes away. He was professional and pleasant, and I appreciate that he wore shoe covers inside my house. He took his time and was very efficient, and he provided me with a detailed overview of the services he completed and also patiently answered my questions. Thank you!

My wife and I have been needing a new furnace and AC unit for quite some time now. We reached out to multiple HVAC companies in the area and decided based on pricing, experience, and overall responsiveness to go with Royal Oak Heating. They were by far the best to deal with. Both techs that came on site were top notch. I would highly recommend them for all of your HVAC needs.
