Very professional and knowledgeable had issues with water heater and was able to repair instead of quick to just quote for a new replacement like the bigger companies. Will definitely be be a return customer.

A OK Mechanical Contracting = Efficient & Professional. + The total cost was significantly lower than what two other firms had quoted for the same service and brand parts. Highly recommended

They are never on time and will not call if they are not coming. 3 days for a furnace and then disconnected needed transformer. Don't know if it is installed correctly, no leaks, and other services not working since they installed. Furnace still sitting on curb and they were supposed to be here between 12 and 2pm, no call or anything. Once called they have no idea and scheduling into Monday. Too many smoke and bathroom breaks. Terrible service. They put it in 20 years ago, would never recommend them. Thanks

I recently purchased a home and was looking for local small businesses to use to make some updates and repairs. I contacted A-Ok to get a quote for installing a gas line, because I wanted to change my electric stove to a gas one. The initial contact went well and an appointment was scheduled for that following Friday. Friday during my appointment window, I received a phone call saying that they needed to change my appointment to Saturday. On Saturday, the guy showed up gave us the quote and left. $350 is the price. Being ignorant to the process I didn't think twice about it. Fast forward to our appointment which was scheduled for between 3pm-5pm. Get a call that the contractor is on the way. I think great, should be a quick and easy job. NOPE the guy showed up with not a clue of the job he was sent to complete which means he has none of the supplies or tools needed to complete the job. He tells me and my husband, there isn't enough room to install a new gas line. I'll need to call the boss. Boss comes out WITH NONE OF THE MATERIALS walks him through the job then comes and tells us he has to go get the parts he'll be back in 30-45 minutes. An hour and 15 minutes later the guy returns completes the job. Now it's time to pay $425! No sir our quote was for $350, he gets back on the phone and speaks to his boss. Comes back and says I told him I was getting a cold feeling from you all so just charge the $350 because I don't feel like dealing with this and I'm ready to go. Moral of the story is DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are rude, and unprofessional.

Hiring A-OK Mechanical in Lansing MI. was the worst contractor experience ever. This was supposed to be a simple furnace and humidifier installation in a 20 year old home. We were notified that the furnace had been received at A-OK Mechanical and that they were ready to install it. After A-OK Mechanical rescheduled 3 times they finally started the installation on the 4th appointment date. Initially it took 4 days of working long hours to install the furnace and humidifier. We had to call the installer back a 5th time to address multiple issues with the installation. All of the issues were not corrected so we had the owner of the company come over for a 6th attempt to correct the issues and meet with the inspector. A-OK Mechanical then made 2 more visits to the house to correct the problems identified by the inspector. Issues: On the first day of the installation, after the old furnace had been unhooked, we received a phone call from the owner of the company saying that he did not have the high efficiency furnace that we ordered and that he would give us a lower efficiency furnace for $100.00 less, we refused the offer. A few minutes later they found the correct furnace and we were told that we would have to pay $250.00 more for the correct furnace with the standard equipment that was on the furnace, we also refused that scam. A-OK Mechanical never scheduled the final inspection as promised, we had to do it. The humidifier did not work, it was assembled incorrectly. The condensation drains were leaking at multiple connections. Thumb nuts were missing on the top of the humidifier. The dampener on the humidifier would not, could not, open. The humidifier was wired incorrectly causing the water to the flow constantly to the humidifier even when the furnace was shut off. There were massive air leaks between the furnace and the central air cooling coils, it was never sealed as you can see by the blowing Crepe Paper. The duct work above the furnace that was fastened to

I honestly can’t even put into words at the moment the absurdity that this company has put my mom through. I will update this when I’ve cooled down to give a level beaded explanation as to warn others to what this company did. Hopefully nobody else will have to go through it or be without heat for over a week and won’t have to waste time filing a lawsuit like my mom will be doing first thing Monday.

Giving a review after a couple years. Furnace went out on a Saturday morning in January. Called and rich came out within an HR, diagnosed the problem and recommended we needed a new furnace. Was up front about it being a busy time and that they wouldn't be able to come out for a couple days to install a new one. Which is totally acceptable because I realize the world doesn't revolve around me like some reviewers on here. They came out on Monday installed everything. While the tech was installing I asked about a whole home humidifier, he didn't have one on him but said he could come out the following day which again is completely understandable since it was a last minute request. They came out the next day got that installed and everything has been working great for 4 years now. The service was professional, timely, extremely reasonable priced, and they waived the cost of a Saturday call. I felt it necessary to leave a review as I simply needed their number to find out what part number I need for a replacement water pad for the humidifier and saw the trash left on here. Highly recommend their service.

I warn you friends don't use their service. They never come after I put deposit in. They never let me know why they could not come. After I called them, they gave me a reason. It been happened about a month not showing up on appointment. The office ladies said, "a guy, who will install a sum pump in my basement, did not show up at work anymore". That why we agreed to cancel the service with full refund.I waited for a week, but did not give me a refund. To get my deposit back I called them about two months. Even after two months, they did not refund me full amount and lied to me that your bank charge you a fee for $63.84. After I told them that my bank did not charged me any fee, the office lady said, " we will give you refund this afternoon and asked me my bank information. But never give me my money back. I am tired of contacting them because I know that their afternoon is never end. It been five months from now.

A-OK Mechanical provided me with very poor services, a tech came out to unplug the drain, he didn't know where the drain was located my husband had to show him. He left without completing the work they refused to come back to finish the work unless I pay them an additional $200. Rich the owner was very unprofessional in handling the situation I wouldn't recommend them an out house.

Do not trust this company! Two year old AC unit and the compressor went. Luckily, the thing was still under warranty. The owner told me that they deal with warranties all the time, no problem. Over a year later and I still have not gotten reimbursed for the part. Why? Because A-OK Mechanical never sent the part in to the manufacturer. But they won't admit this. Every time I contacted them, they told me they'd look into, that the manufacturer was giving them the run around, etc. So I call the manufacturer who says they never received the defective part. They tell me to call the parts distributor because A-OK would have had to send the part to them first and then they would have sent the part to the manufacturer. Distributor can confirm that A-OK ordered the part from them but never returned the defective part. I asked A-OK three times to send me their paperwork that shows they sent the part in. They now will not respond to me. I'm out $600 because of their incompetency. Oh, and my AC still doesn't work. Because they only diagnosed half the problem. Stay away from this company.
