I usually do not write reviews but in this instance I feel I have to. I was having an issue with the heat in my house and the contractor I usually use was having no luck in diagnosing and/or repairing the problem. After three visits and three days- still no heat, I reached out to John at SH&C. Within fifteen minutes of leaving a message he had called back. We talked about the issue and he was very informative and up front about what they could do. Within an hour the technician was at my house and within two hours the house was heating up. The next morning it was two degrees out and the cold could have done some serious damage due to pipes freezing. John listened and was sympathetic as I pleaded for help with the furnace. John and his technician were professional, informative and got the job done.
Unico, Goodbye tens of thousands of dollars to Unico… We are sorry to find out you are not vested in your product or your customers. Your marketing is horrible and forcing customers to have to research for “certified” installers (who do not even want to install this system) is garbage. It is nearly impossible to find someone and when we do, they make sure to not only tell us “just because this doesn’t have ductwork doesn’t mean it’s less expensive”, they then charge $50,000. Unico is losing out on two opportunities, the most important of which is the gain of tens of thousands of dollars. But, if Unico doesn’t care, it tells us your system is either faulty or not worth the time and effort. Time to find a regular HVAC system and technician.
The best thing I ever did was go with John when he started his business He has always been there for over 40 years. I could not ask for better service from him and his team. I highly recommend this company.
Easy process to install ductless mini-splits from start to finish. John came out and gave a very detailed quote and then followed up with a written proposal. The price seemed quite reasonable and they were able to start the project accommodating our schedule and our new WFH lifestyle. A slight scheduling issue delayed the completion, but the final results were well worth it. John forwarded us the materials to submit the paperwork for the Mass Save rebates. Couldn't be happier with the entire crew from Suburban and the work that they performed.
I am the owner of this company. The recent one star review from Rameen Beroukhim that was posted about my company is in error. I can only assume mister Beroukhim is at best confused. We HAVE NEVER INSTALLED OR SERVICED HIS EQUIPMENT! I have made several requests that he and/or Google remove it with absolutely no response! If I mistakenly posted a bad review for a company, I would be apologetic and embarrassed! Apparently Mr. Beroukhim does not feel the same.
Called this place Friday afternoon as my heat wasn’t working. Spoke to the answering service they took down my number and said a technician would call me that night or the following AM. Come the following afternoon I still hadn’t heard from anyone. Called another company who was able to come within the hour. Given my experience I would not recommend. Clearly this company is unreliable and that is just unacceptable when it comes to heat in New England.
Great to deal with. John was able to fit me into their busy schedule in a timely manner. Shane came to do my routine mantainance on my boiler and figured out very quickly the issue of it constantly making a clicking noise. Very Professional and experienced.

I too found that John and his team lived up to their word and did and excellent job. I highly recommend Suburban Heating and Cooling, they know what they are doing.
Suburban installed a high velocity central air system for us over the winter. From the initial estimate to the final installation, John and his team have been very professional and a pleasure to work with. Even with cutting holes in the ceiling of every room in the house, their work was exceptional clean. I recommend them highly.
John and his team are great to deal with. We have had them as our oil supplier and heating service for over 27 years. During that time they have installed a new hot water heater, furnace, and recently, a central air condition system. I highly recommend them for all heating and cooling services.
Honest and reliable. Pricing was fair. John helped to reconfiguring our system to work more efficiently. Communication was excellent and work was done in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend Suburban
John and his team did a great job with the installation of our HVAC systems, both forced air, one conventional, one Unico high velocity. They recently added two Honeywell whole house steam humidifiers to each system. The newly upgraded systems works and looks great. I would highly recommend Suburban Heating and Cooling.
Suburban Heating and Cooling replaced my old heating system and also added cooling system in Lexington, MA. I was very pleased with their work, cleanliness and on-time work that they performed in our home. They are reliable professionals and I highly recommend them. The system that they recommended and installed works perfectly after one year of operation. Our heating system uses gas. They encountered existing loose gas pipe fittings and they did not ignore it, they removed all loose pipes and replaced with new pipes and fittings. They are safety conscious. Again, I highly recommend them.
John and his guys are great! My husband and I have been using Suburban Heating and Cooling for all our HVAC needs for years. They are honest, reliable and professional. Recently we noticed condensation on the outside of our oil tank and called Suburban Heating and Cooling right away. John arrived first the thing the following morning to look at it. As it turns out, our oil tank needed to be replaced. They explained exactly what the job was going to entail and answered any questions we had. They did a great job as usual and the work was done in a timely manner and completed within a day. They always treat our home as if it was their own, leaving the work space clean and free of any mess. They have done a variety of work at our house over the years and we wouldn't use any other company, I would recommend them to anyone for any heating or cooling needs!
2 ½ years ago John Fucci helped us to replace an ancient, bulky oil burning furnace and conventional water heater with a high efficiency gas furnace and indirectly heated water tank, all financed very substantially under the Mass Heat Program. Not only did he do a splendid job, within the projected budget and time span, but he applied great effort and imagination to fit the new system into a basement corner previously occupied by the oil tank alone, leaving us with added storage room in the considerably larger space that used to house the old furnace and water heater. Throughout the progress of his work he and his team maintained the highest level of consideration, politeness and good cheer, while applying the most rigorous standards of precision and esthetics to their production. It was a pleasure having them about. Subsequently, we have gratefully enjoyed the considerable improvement in our heating and in our heating bills, as well as John’s instantaneous response to every question along the way, and immediate attention to the single instance of needed repair (replacement of one internal pump.) In addition, he has taken great care of our 20-year-old central air system, fixing problems and reprogramming functions along the way. The same can be said of his work in our son’s nearby home. In all, our experience with John’s work and service cannot be rated any other way than excellent. We recommend him without reservation.
They were great. They put in air conditioning for us. I have only positive things to say!
Experience matters to me. The owner has 30+ years in business, 17 of which I've been a customer. I've used them for multiple installations and services in two different houses. No problem has ever gone unsolved and their quality of workmanship is superior.
When our 20+ year old condenser leaked out, John sent out a technician who explained the old systems used an older, hard to find, and expensive freon. We went over the options and decided to get a new American Standard condenser and matching air handler (located in the attic). This system uses the newer type freon. Within two days the old system was out and the new A/C system was installed. The new air handler is much quieter when starting and stopping. Very pleased with the quality of work and neatness on the job. I would recommend them.
