I have been a customer for over 20 years and have always been pleased with the service. In that time they have installed a new heating system and central a/c. Recently I needed an oil tank replaced... another flawless installation! They are "state of the art" in that industry!! Highly recommend.
Team came on time and was courteous. They installed a new boiler, water heater, and mixing valve. The new system has given us consistent hot water. AH is a very good company and I would highly recommend their services.

I have been a customer for almost 30 years when they installed by first boiler in 1993. They again installed a more modern boiler in my home last month. There is a reason I am a long-time customer. The advice I received almost thirty years ago remains. Alvin Hollis is one solid company. They are always honest and up-front, dependable and competitive on pricing. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to call them to the house for an emergency in 30 years, and every time, they were right there including one cold Thanksgiving morning 20 years ago.
Have been using this company for years, but it isn't until an emergency that you find how good they really are. Gary, John, Brenden and Mike did a great job putting in a new boiler as ours broke down. They were very professional, polite, neat, and just nice guys. I have been a long time customer (over 20 years). All calls placed to them are answered promptly and addressed efficiently. Oil prices are within the range of other companies. Deliveries made on time. Had new system replaced 2 years ago and oil tank replaced 1 month ago. Excellent service. The tank replacement workers were very respectful of me and my home. Completed the job and cleaned up behind themselves. All emergency calls I have placed were responded to ( even when it was something as simple as the switch wasn't on) with a smile and concern.
We recently had Alvin Hollis out to install a mini split AC/heat unit and they were professional, helpful and did the work in a timely manner. We were very pleased with their overall level of professional service and follow up to be sure we were happy with the job.
Alvin Hollis replaced my hot water heater, oil tank, and 2 A/C units this summer! They were competitive in pricing and did an outstanding job in all 3 jobs they did for me.
We have used Alvin Hollis since 1979 for home oil and heating/plumbing services. They are fairly priced and have always been there when needed. I would highly recommend them.
Unfortunately I have not had a good experience with Alvin Hollis. A year ago we had two splits installed in our home. The split installed in our bedroom was to low on the wall and as a result we can not open our bedroom door with hitting the unit. We have contacted Alvin Hollis numerous times, had a representative come out and look at the issue, had one of their installers come out and confirm the unit should be moved and yet here we sit an entire year later with no resolution. I would not use them again as they do not stand behind their work.
We have been Alvin Hollis customers for 35 years and have been treated to outstanding service. While honestly no one likes paying for their oil, it is a good feeling to see Alvin Hollis arrive on a cold and snowy January day. Every year the burner is serviced and the occasional emergency call is handled promptly. Over the years Alvin Hollis has also installed a new furnace for us (done on an emergency basis on New Year's Eve), a new water heater, a new air conditioning unit and most recently replaced our old oil tank. Every install was done in the most professional manner. We highly recommend Alvin Hollis!
Alvin Hollis is awesome! I've used them for years, but that doesn't mean I don't also competitively shop their estimates. In this case, it was for an AC Condenser replacement - they were $4k less than the next estimate - FOR THE SAME equipment. Jimmy was so responsive, gave me an accurate timeline to do the work and his team was spectacular during the install. You can't ask for anything more from a business!
Jim and his team were nothing short of amazing! Professional, knowledgeable and efficient. We had a new system improperly installed by a different company with lots of complicated issues. So we called Alvin Hollis to come out and assess what the problems were. Not only did they drive out of their service area to help us repair someone else's work, but they fit us in pretty quickly on their busy schedule.They got everything up and running the same day and everything has been working great since. Do not hesitate to call them!! 5 stars 🌟
We knew our AC was on its last legs so we contacted Alvin Hollis, who we had used to convert our furnace and water heater to gas about 8 years ago, to get a quote for replacing the unit. Gordon came to take a look at our situation. He asked if we had any issues with the current system and we explained which rooms were not heating or cooling well. He looked at the ductwork in the basement and went through the entire house noting where vents and returns were and taking measurements. (In contrast, another company that came to gave us a quote looked only in the basement and at the unit outside.) About a week later Gordon sent us a detailed quote. It was broken down into parts: AC unit replacement, ductwork reconfiguration, installation of a heat pump in a large upstairs room that doesn't cool well. He recommended just replacing the AC unit to start with and then deciding on the other items based on how that worked out. I appreciated his honesty and the lack of pressure to increase the size of our project. We decided to go ahead with the replacement and sent in our deposit (half the cost). Even before that check had been received, Gordon got our installation scheduled. He said he was going to be out for a couple of weeks and didn't want to come back and find the summer all booked up. We were pleasantly surprised to find they could do the install in mid-June. When the install week came, Gordon emailed to say they were short staffed and would have to reschedule. Fortunately we only had to wait an extra day. The technician arrived a little late, but not terribly so, and got to work. He was there for several hours and at one point was joined by some coworkers, including an electrician. By the end of the day we had our new AC and it has worked quite well to keep our house cool during the recent heat wave. Had need of a new oil tank. I get my oil through AH, so I contacted them about replacing the tank. They were quick to respond. A crew came in and did the work quickly and cleanly. Were very helpful in answering any questions I had. Everything was left clean and tidy.
When you need Alvin Hollis they are there ASAP. I have had two emergencies, My furnace caught on fire in January 2012 ALVIN HOLLIS was there the next day and replaced my furnace...and just this June when the Tech came to clean my furnace he discovered a leak in my oil tank I have Tank Insurance so I saved $1400.00 off the top and ALVIN HOLLIS made a very stressful event seamless...they took care of everything Very happy with their service
I have used Alvin Hollis for heating oil delivery and oil boiler service since I moved into my house a few years ago. When you are a new customer, there is a deep discount on oil prices and on the service plan, however, even though I am no longer a new customer I am still keeping them for oil delivery and heating system service because they are that great! They fill up my oil tank when it needs filling, and they have a system to know when to do so so I never have to call and ask. The servicing is impeccable; they do a yearly cleaning and tune-up, and I've called them with a few issues which they fixed by replacing my oil line and some electronics on my boiler. Recently due to a mistake by a roofing company I had them come out to install an entirely new chimney for my boiler. Every time they come they are extremely professional, helpful, clean, etc etc. They are happy to chat with me and answer all my questions about my heating system, they never leave a mess, and they always have the parts they need to fix the issue on hand. I would recommend them to anyone that needs to have someone on call to fix their heating system.
