I had to schedule service for the chiller unit (a Whalen fan coil unit) in my condo. Sila was recommended to me as a very reputable company. I made the appointment and was completely clear about the kind of unit that needed service. I repeated it, also saying that it was a very large building. I did that because some companies can service these, and others can't. The person on the phone seemed more interested in making an appointment than listening. Nonetheless, they could get there before the weekend which was a big plus because we've had some hot weather. 2 hours before the appointment several days later they called me and said, oh we don't service those. Sorry. So now we've had a long delay in getting it fixed, I totally rearranged my schedule for nothing, and are starting back at zero.
Michael was very prompt and professional. He used show coverings without even asking. He know the problem and fixed it right away. He showed us the workings of the A/C unit. Would definitely use them again
Rob, from Sila, did the annual AC system servicing today. He explained the various elements of the system clearly, identified areas of possible concern, completed necessary tasks efficiently, and made the visit a very professional and positive one.
It's been terrific working with Sila. Both home visits (HVAC and hot water repair) have been punctual and super informative. Excellent communication and really knowledgable technicians. Thank you!
I used Sila quite a few months ago, and have been un sure of how to rate them. I want to give them 2.5 stars. On the one hand, I like them, but on the other, I am out approximately $300, with nothing to show for it. I still do recommend them because out of the many other places, they were the one of the very few immediately available and came out ASAP. The person who came was great. The reason for fewer stars is because when I called, I told the person on the phone about the type of furnace I had and that I wanted to make sure the person who came had experience with that. They said yes yes. Unfortunately, they didn't take that advice (message probably got lost along the line somewhere), and sent someone who wasn't entirely familiar with the furnace. I'm sure he would have been perfect if I had a furnace other than the KE system. He came over, did the same things that I had already tried many times, basically power on and off, which worked, just as it did for me, but then stopped working again later after he left, just as it had been doing for me, and that is what I had let him know before he left. So I paid $300 for something I was already doing. He said he would contact the manufacturer for the parts. He called a few days (maybe even a week later) with the cost of the parts and installation, which would have been an additional $1000 (and I don't believe this was the part that needed fixing). However, since it was winter and we needed a working furnace, I had contacted a different company in the meantime, one that was indeed familiar with the system. They came over, and within a few seconds of diagnosis, knew exactly what the issue was, had the part in their truck and fixed it. Also fixed the heat exchanger. It was also close to a $1000, a little less iirc. Had I contacted them first, I wouldn't have spent the $300 on Sila. So in a way it is my fault, but its also partly their fault for not sending someone familiar with the system. I do still recommend them.
After waiting 5 weeks for my annual AC service I received a VM that they were cancelling my appointment today because they were too busy with other repairs. I definitely will not use them but who can I call now since we are in the prime time for AC. They did the same thing last year until I posted a negative Google review and I received a call that they had a technician they could send. At the same time they asked if I would remove my negative review. I did remove it and foolishly called them back this year. Never again !!
Amazing experience with this company! AC went out on a Sunday and they managed to make it out same day. They called when the technician was 30 minutes out and then showed up in that time frame! Rob was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and was also just a really good guy. AC was working when he left. Amazing customer service! Would 10/10 recommend!
Scheduled annual AC maintenance, they had an opening in their schedule which allowed me to pull up the appointment by a week. Technician was right on time (4 min early actually) and did his work fast, with attention to quality and detail.
We put in our SILA Heat/AC (ductless) system 18 years ago. Excellent product, with outstanding and prompt service. Annual service plan is worth every penny.
We have been using Sila for years and our service today for our AC was great! Michael S. was terrific and ended up staying longer to do some additional maintenance on the outside unit, which we really appreciated! Thanks Michael!
The technician was knowledgeable and friendly. The work was very clean. I will hire Sila in the future and recommend Sila for plumbing and A/C service.
I worked with Josh Richards of SILA to have a heat pump and ductless heads installed in my house. Josh was very professional and understanding of our needs. He was also integral to my rebate filings and requisite paper work. I wholeheartedly recommend SILA and Josh Richards as people that will provide a professional and quality solution to your HVAC project.
Steven Treska was meticulous and did an amazing job. He was thorough and manage to find the root cause of a leak that had persisted for 3 years. He came back the following day with what he needed to fix the identified leak, and fix it. Fingers crossed this has put the matter to rest for good.
I cannot thank or praise highly enough the workers who installed a new AC system in my apartment last week. I especially want to thank Matt and Jordan who had to work really hard to remove the old system before it could be swapped out. Thanks, too, to Nick the foreman and Rob. Also, Rob the electrician, who did an amazing job. All members of the team who contributed to this effort were friendly, professional, diligent, and efficient. I recommend them all to anyone who is thinking of using Sila's services. Paul
They showed up right when they said they would. The technicians did a great job. They answered all my questions. They also left my house as clean as it was before they got there. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
Sila is an excellent company to work with. They just finished installing a new A/C system and like with the combi boiler they installed two years ago they did it on an emergency basis one day after calling them for help. Justin and Jimmy did my A/C install this week and were professional and friendly. Sila isn't the cheapest option for HVAC installations, but you get what you pay for with top quality equipment, installation, and maintenance.
In my experience over a number of years, Sila phone representatives understand a caller’s needs and give appropriate responses. Sila field technicians are on time, communicate well, and perform a/c annual maintenance skillfully.
Rob was great. Very professional and helpful. He answered all my questions and fixed my Central AC part replacement! Would highly recommend!
I had a high velocity air conditioning system installed last year. It came with five years' worth of annual checkups, and this year's was done in April. We haven't had to use the system much because it wasn't hot enough, but this weekend it was - and it stopped working. I called in on Memorial Day and one of their technicians, David, was here a few hours later. Turns out a drain was clogged. He had it cleaned up and going in less than half an hour, and also left me a manual for my programmable thermostat which the original installers did not. I'm extremely happy with the professionalism and service and highly recommend this company!
Jake took our call and had someone out next day on a holiday weekend! David diagnosed and fixed our AC within an hour. He had the part on hand which was great. Quick and reliable service. Highly recommend.
