We contracted with Muirfield to install a Bosch heat pump for our heating and cooling needs using existing duct work. We enrolled in the MassSave program for this project. We have a two-story house with six large rooms with nine-foot ceilings totaling about 1,700 square feet. We found Muirfield through Boston Consumers Checkbook where they were rated highly for quality and price. Before selecting Muirfield, we also talked with and received quotes from three other reputable firms recommended by friends. The Muirfield installation team worked effectively and efficiently and took time to answer our questions as they worked. We had a minor problem after the project was completed with a piece of ducting coming loose. Muirfield responded promptly and took care of the issue. Muirfield subcontracts their electrical work, using the same contractor for most projects. Their subcontractor also worked efficiently and effectively and their work included upgrading our electric service to 200 amp. Including that upgrade in our project probably contributed to the uneven communication between Muirfield and their electrical subcontractor. Muirfield’s office staff were great: efficient, responsive, and friendly. Overall, we are very pleased with our experience working with Muirfield and the new heating/cooling system they installed.

I am new to the area and, after getting a bunch of different quotes, I chose Muirfield Mechanical because they were able to explain different options and pricing clearly, they were friendly and always got back to me in a timely manner and had competitive pricing. They also installed my mini split sooner than expected when they had a cancellation. I really appreciate how willing they were to teach us how to use the split and clean the filters too. Overall would definitely recommend them for your AC/heating needs!

We decided to replace out 31 year old and 25 year old gas furnaces with electric heat pumps. We received three quotes. Muirfield was the most affordable option, and used Bosch appliances which was a big plus for us. The crew came out once to take measurements and scope out the full job, and then came back the following week to install both units. They were on time, every day, were pleasant, diligent, and neat. They completed the entire job in 2.5 days. They did a job cleanup after they finished. They took the time to set up the remote control for the thermostats. In summary, the price was fair, the work crews were excellent, and we are very happy with the experience. Highly recommend.

One of our kids found that one of the two hot water boilers we had was leaking in our basement. After further investigation we made the decision that we needed to replace both the boiler and the hot water tanks. We called around to 5 different companies and having used Muirfield and the great experience we had with them we moved forward with them. They picked a warmer day to do the installation as it was a 2 day job. What I can say about the process was that they were responsive, reasonable and professional throughout the process. I would absolutely use them again for any HVAC or heating work and would highly recommend them.

Muirfield installed a heat pump HVAC system at our house that tied into our existing air ducts. We were pleased with every stage of the job. At the initial visit, the tech person explained clearly what our options were. He specified an economic and efficient solution, which is why we chose them. During the installation, the techs were professional and courteous, and did an excellent job. I have already recommended this company to friends.

Reasonable estimate, professional employees who answer questions, come on time when they say they will come. They really know their stuff. Helped me navigate the Heat Pump rebates. Had a cancellation in their schedule and fit me in before we were scheduled. Would not hesitate to recommend this local company for HVAC needs. Update: Since the work was completed, I have noticed that communication is not always prompt when I contact the company. In addition, I made a call on their emergency line one morning at around 6:30, but no one picked up or even got back to me the rest of the day.

Muirfield Mechanical Services recently installed heat pumps in my single family home. From the initial appointment to the very last installation day, all staff were professional, informative, helpful & respectful of our space. Each day they left the work space clean and exactly the way it was when they got here. The price was right where I expected it to be and they were very transparent with the work that was being done. The office even helped me with the rebate paperwork! I highly recommend this company! You will not go wrong having them install and maintain your heating/cooling system.

Muirfield Mechanical did an excellent installation job of our complex home heating system, including replacing an AC unit with a heat-pump to provide cooling and heat to our hot air system, a mini-split system to replace a existing gas boiler, and a backup instantaneous hot water system for our solar hot water system. Their crew was courteous and effective doing most of the work the dead of winter. From initial estimate to completion took a month, which included trouble shooting unexpected issues. Their online invoice/billing and communication system works well. Supervisors are accessible and responsive.

We thought we might be interested in a mini-split system for our bedroom so called Muirfield Mechanical which turned out to be one of the most responsive and easy-to-deal-with businesses one can imagine. Jeff, the Project Manager who came to our house, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and non-pressuring. After our visit, we concluded that a mini-split probably isn't what we need, but if we were to need a different project done, we certainly would call them again..

Shopping for heat pumps can seem daunting. I chose Muirfield because: A) They were one of the installers recommended by my town's energy conservation initiative B) From my research, Mitsubishi seemed to be the preferred brand and Muirfield had this in stock. Some other installers did not. C) Their price was competitive D) They returned email and phone calls E) Their installation crew seemed knowledgeable and professional F) When I was ready to commit to the project, they moved very quickly. The time between my sending a deposit and a finished instillation was eight days, though this is probably quicker than usual. G) They made a few decisions such as placement of the cables and of the compressor, which were not quite as I expected. This was a relatively minor matter.

Jeff and Mike and the project manager Nate did an excellent job in planning and the installing of my Mitsubishi ductless heat pump. Nate explained all the nuisances of the Mass Save rebate process which was not straight forward. They arrived on time, were very professional and efficient in removing my old system and installing the new one. The inside work was protected by drop cloths and left very clean. Haven't used my system yet but look forward to the heating option which I didn't have on my old AC unit. I highly recommend Muirfield for ductless heating and AC.

I had an excellent experience working with Muirfield Mechanical Services regarding installing a central heat pump in my older home and highly recommend them. The team did excellent high quality work, kept everything tidy inside and out and even spent extra time with me to program the thermostats and explain how the system will work in conjunction with my existing gas boiler. One of the team members came back a few days later to ensure everything was in good order and Linda in the office got me set up with a heat loan and helped me to apply for the tax rebate. This was 5 star experience!

Jeff and Nate the project managers, the installation team and support staff were very professional and knowledgeable. They worked on alternative mini-split manufactures due to supply issue with Mitsubishi. But the M equipment arrived so I'm pleased to report these units are great with cooling 3 levels of my condo. I first starting using this company about 5 years ago when our old AC system was dying. They were so prompt with coming out to quote and the install was so fast that the system was in when I finally got the phone call back from the 3rd company I was hoping to get a quote from - had to say sorry, already have a new system in! They've been great for yearly maintenance as well. Fast forward to a the AC dying at the animal shelter on a blistering day - Denise squeezed the shelter in despite not being a previous client, and the AC was up and running with a couple hours of my pleading phone call. This company is honest, experienced, and worth giving your business to.

Put me on waiting list as there acreman with air-conditioner issues at this time of year. Called me when they had a cancellation and promptly and professionally fixed the problem. 100% recommend them!

We recently contracted with Muirfield Mechanical to install two mini-split heat pumps. They were one of four contractors from whom we received bids, and their bid was both timely and competitive. They are a Mitsubishi Diamond installer, which means that Mitsubishi’s warranty is extended to 12 years instead of 10. The product manager, Nate, was very helpful in explaining where to place the heat pumps, and was an excellent problem-solver in managing a supply chain issue that emerged during the process. The installers were professional and always on-time. The electrician Muirfield uses, Bogen Electric, did an excellent job with the electrical hook-up. Additionally, Muirfield’s office manager took care of registering our product warranties for us, and filed the rebate form with our local electrical company. We are very pleased with the heat pumps, and highly recommend Muirfield Mechnical.
