Our air conditioner compressor stopped working today and I called Prairie Center as a new customer. They arrived within the hour and got our system repaired and working again within a couple hours for a reasonable price. The service tech was also able to provide verbal replacement cost estimates for our condenser and furnace, helping me anticipate future repair or replacement options and costs for our 14 year old system. I have previously used one of the larger local service companies, but became frustrated with high service costs and monthly subscription games. Prairie Center was a refreshing alternative. Solid work, at a reasonable price, without asking me to sign up for a monthly subscription. Prairie Center will be top of my list for future needs! Update 5/15/23: Prairie Center replaced our AC and Furnace in 2021. The sales process was very low-stress and they did a great job providing cost-effective solutions. The installation was high quality and very professional. Everything went quickly and smoothly. They have been providing preventative maintenance for a couple years now at a reasonable price and our experience continues to be overwhelmingly positive.

They just installed a new air conditioner & furnace for me two days ago. Can’t believe how quiet the air conditioner is! The guys are very friendly & good at what they do. Plus they do a fantastic clean up after they have finished the job! I feel their Maintenance Plan is very reasonable in cost compared to some other companies. I’m very pleased with their service and am looking forward to seeing them again next year for my maintenance cleaning. Highly recommend Prairie Center! A company you can trust!
Left a message requesting AC repair at 7 am on Monday morning. I was very concerned with my husband’s health problems and out of town company on the way. Rob arrived by 8:30 am and provided excellent, professional, friendly, reasonably priced service. AC up and running by 9:30!
As a former employee of this company, I would not hire anyone else in the metro. The family owned business does great work at a fraction of what the big companies charge. From the owners, office staff, and installers you will hard pressed to find anyone comparable. Had I not started my own company, I would go back to work for them in a heartbeat. If that doesn’t say something, I don’t know what will!
They provided me with a phone number of a plumber that could assist with my question. I thought that was a great thing. Thanks
I wanted to be proactive in replacing the hvac system that was original to my home. I went through 2 rounds of bids and hadn't found a company I was comfortable with when a friend suggested Prairie Center. It wasn't a quick process because I wanted high-end filtration and purification on top of a quality and sufficient system. We met several times and they answered all my questions in a timely manner. The install took place about a month ago and I couldn't be happier. If you don't call Prairie Center you will likely be kicking yourself!
Jason, was the most professional and upfront person. It is great to hear of great service and a great price. The other big box companies were trying to sell me everything they could however Prairie Center is who I am with now. As a avid Googler, I am sincere about what I write and highly recommend that you put them on your list to do your work.
Great customer service. The best guy on their service team is Rob. Very friendly and ontime with his service appointment. Came out to trouble shoot an alarm on my geo thermal unit. Determined the problem (defective control board) and ordered the part. The following week, he came out and replaced list and problem fixed. Part was replaced at no cost since unit is under warranty and service was very reasonable. Best part, the office returned my check for the service after we discovered that the manufacturer warranty also covers the services fee. Thank your again for a great customer service.
These guys are the best! I called needing a new AC, they walked me through it and recommended something that was better than what I thought I needed for less $$. Then in record time they showed up at my home and added the new AC unit, working awesomely... very professional, super nice guys and were done in a few hours. Amazing. Highly recommend them, I think you won't go wrong ever.
Prairie Center made the time to come to our home with less than 24 hr notice. Robina had the tech Jason come and look at the AC issue. He fixed us up within an hour! Great service!
Great service, I've used them over the last 5 years or so and always had great service. they have been prompt, tidied up after themselves. Always explained the problem and the fix. I would recommend them to anyone.

Quick , reliable and professional.. Rob arrived within several hours after we called, quickly identified the problem and replaced the defective igniter. We now had heat. We appreciate how quickly Rob got here because we called about Five PM on Friday.
I called in late in the afternoon and spoke with Robin. She explained that it was late in day and that it would probably the next day before they could send someone. My daughter and Grand kids would soon be home with no heat. To my surprise they sent someone out and had the heater fixed. Above and beyond service! Thanks again!
Prairie Center Plumbing and Heating did an excellent job of installing my new furnace and air conditioner just recently in my Overland Park, Ks. home. They were all top notch, professional quality and very knowledgeable crew of five guys. They were in at 8:00 a.m. and finished by about 11.30 a.m. All debris was removed. I highly recommend Prairie Center. They offer free estimates just a phone call away. You will not be disappointed!!!!!! I rate them 10+++++ but could only click 5 stars.
After having my air unit serviced by another company 3 weeks ago & has quit twice since then I called Prairie Center. Office was so nice & informative and they sent someone out within 3 hours. He showed me the filthiest furnace filter, which other company said they replaced. I was up & running within 30 mins . Will definitely use them from now on & highly recommend not only for service but because reasonably priced, customer oriented and quickness
We have used Prairie Center for well over 10 years. Rarely do I wish I could give more than five stars for service but this company needs at least ten. They have NEVER tried to repair or replace anything that didn't need to be replaced. If they tell you your unit is dead, you can believe it's only because they have tried absolutely everything they can to get it up and running again. My 83 year-old mom's AC died and she called two different companies and both told her she needed to replace her unit. One quoted her a price of over $6,000 and the other company's quote was over $8,000! Prairie Center came out this morning and fixed the problem and the total charge was $204! In addition, the office staff is so nice, so compassionate, and so helpful. The way these folks do business is rare in today's world, and honestly, I feel privileged to have the opportunity to give them a good rating!
This business did all of the installation of my plumbing, heating and air conditioning for my new build completed in Nov 2016. In the fall of 2017 they installed a humidifier on to the furnace they had installed previously. In spite of numerous visits from their service repairman, water continued to slowly leak under the vinyl tile flooring in the HVAC room and into the adjacent hallway. When the water to the humidifier was completely turned off, the leaking stopped. However, Rick, the owner of the business, refuses to take any responsibility for the damage to the floor caused by a faulty installation. We have received a repair quote from the flooring manufacturer (who also believes it should be replaced by Prairie Center) for $750 and that is what we requested, but instead of working with us, Rick hung up on us. While I have found the servicemen to be very pleasant to work with, the same is not true of the internal office staff. I also had the same issue reported by another reviewer.... the office NEVER calls you back. Not a good company to work with.
We worked with Jason, one of the co-owners, and he was fantastic. He came out to look at our system the next day after calling. He gave us reasonable options and spent weeks answering all of our questions. The crew who installed our furnace and water heater were professional and tidy (which is important when you have two little kids). We’re so glad we were referred to them!
