Water heater went out on Monday morning. By that afternoon A2Z had a new one installed and working for us. Price was very fair and a job well done.
Our technician, Gavin, was wonderful. He was very nice and easy to work with. He was also very neat and tidy with his work. It was a pleasure to have him in our home. We are relatively new to Iowa City and are delighted to have found A2Z. We will definitely have them do all of our plumbing and HVAC work in the future.
I had a plumbing problem, leaky faucet. The technician was appropriate and respectful. He did what I needed to have done and helped me understand what was going on. I've never had to call a plumber before so I appreciated the help and explanation. Update: the faucet started leaking again so I called up a2z within 30 days of the service call. They scheduled me in right away. Fixed the faucet. Didn't charge me a thing. I was VERY pleased. I will call them again.

The Technicians arrived on time and were courteous. They did a nice job of installing a new heating and cooling system and cleaned up well when they were done. Everything looks nice and runs very well. We are very satisfied and highly recommend A2Z.
Called for a plumber to check for a fix on a leak. He was late. Then looked around for 30 mins said idk where it's coming from. He suggested we never use our master shower again. All that for $120...
Great service. A2Z was able to send someone out the same day we called. Gavin was on time (even a few minutes early, but the tracking notified us when he was on his way). Quick and accurate diagnosis. Highly recommend.
I am actually a former employee at this company and quit because I wanted to get into a different industry, I have had many different jobs and bosses and I have never written a review on a company before and definitely not one that I have worked for. My position was a helper and I helped both HVAC and Plumbing sides of the company. This company is owned by amazing people who care for their employees on a different level, they treat them with respect, kindness and care for each of their employees, even after putting in my 2 week notice I was still treated well and wished the best of luck. Not only will you get high quality service but you will be supporting a great business run by great people who give back to their community and put their employees before themselves.
A2Z did some plumbing rework and added a drainage system for my A/C and furnace condensate. They were very professional from the time of providing the estimate, scheduling the job, and then completed the job in a timely manner. I am most impressed by their professionalism and ability to answer my questions. It gave me confidence in their knowledge and skills when they explained to me why I needed to have the prior plumbing work redone. A2Z demonstrated that they take their profession seriously. They care about their customers and their employees too. I appreciate that! Thank you A2Z!
They charged me for 2 hoses I didn't need or want without authorization. Tech left while shut off valve was leaking saying he hadn't touched it, which can't be true if he replaced the hoses. Now I have to hire another plumber after paying $225 to get a bathroom faucet installed. Ouch
I've used their services three times and finally got around for a review. Every time I have called for service they are professional, and efficient. We just bought our house in 2022 and A2Z has been essential in handling every curve ball this property has thrown at us.
Russ with A2Z came to my home to do a renovation install of a new dishwasher. He worked efficiently and was diligent in his handling of unforeseen issues that arose during the installation. I would use A2Z again.
We had a small natural gas leak on the supply line to our furnace. Office staff and technician were both a pleasure to deal with

They I stalled a gas line for a fraction of the cost of some of the other shops I called. Did a good job, clean, and friendly.
I had no issue with their work. But they estimated $600 for the repair and then billed $850. I am not sure that is a range of the estimate but they did not explain the additional cost. Also, they took parts back and came back 3 days later to complete the repair but they did not tell me how many days it will take. Eventually, we have to wait 3 days without heat. I wish they could communicate well so I did not have to call them many times. This is their response. "The rough estimates that are given are not the final exact cost. The final invoicing is calculated for time & material. Regarding the estimated time to complete the work, we cannot give exact dates & schedule anything until we have the part and then we must look at our schedule to see what is available to do the repair."
We were unable to be home during the installation, but the installation went forward flawlessly. The technicians were prompt, clean and thorough. All-in-all a very professional job.
First off: They will charge you for the time it takes to drive to your location. This means when they arrive they will likely be near that first hourly mark before service even begins. This should be understandably frustrating to anyone who expects to pay for the service time. Had this been advertised accordingly I would not be mentioning it here. Second: Pray you get someone knowledgeable and professional. I’ve worked with Scott in the past and he was a gem. Today we had Shaina and it was the polar opposite. She did not know what she was doing and it was apparent from the beginning. She did not conduct herself in a professional manner and this culminated when she charged us the wrong amount (this was rectified after a phone call). In hindsight, I could have spent a few minutes on the internet and come to the same conclusion she did while at our house. I will not be using this company again, and would encourage others to call around before settling with A2Z.
They are simply one of the best companies we have ever used. They are always on time to their appointments and get the work going on schedule and on budget. We are on our third project with them, the remodel of our home, buidling a new shop and then them rerouting our LP gas line inside our home.
Our Heater wasn’t shutting down in some areas of the house. They came, they saw, they saved us from overheating. Will recommend them to anyone, nice pro technician, and we love to support Veteran home business and workers!
