Called them when heat went out they came within a few hours and it was back up and running also had us get the correct air filters apparently we were using the wrong ones. Always fair and affordable as well.
I had to replace a thermostat. The response was quick . I called at 6 A.M. and a technician showed up at 8;15 A.M. Excellent job. A vary kind technician and a fair price. Zipporah Perlmutter
Update: we just got a new furnace installed during the last cold snap (next day though they offered same day). We finally bought a new one instead of just replacing controllers on the old one (which we had done a few times but the old technology meant it just kept getting fried every few years.). The new furnace was not as expensive as I thought it would be, took 1 day to install,, takes up less space than the old one, and I think it might also be more efficient AND… we now qualify for a reduction in our home insurance premiums! (Who knew?). I’m feeling very good about our prompt, trustworthy experience with Skokie Valley air control. In fact the furnace installers were the same guys who installed the ac unit a few years ago! Another sign of a great company! Previous review: These guys are great. We've been using them since we bought our house 7 (now 13 years) years ago when they vented our new water heater. Since then we've called for help on several items. Not every call for help results in a service call. Sometimes they have talked us through checking something out and fixing the problem ourselves. last year our 2 AC units started failing. They gave us a Freon injection which helped a lot! But then this year - the condensers died in first 1 then the 2nd unit. Money is tight so we got multiple quotes from different companies. Theirs was the least expensive by far and they were able to help us finance the purchase through Wells Fargo. Later that week, they installed the 2 new units in half a day, My experience with them and the other HVAC companies has shown that these guys know what they are doing, are willing to educate you on how to do simple little things by yourself and they charge a fair price for what they sell & service.
Fair prices prompt service. Will use again!

My brother and I worked with Michael Byron at Skokie Valley Air Control, the company that had done routine HVAC maintenance on our parent's condo over the years. When we were thinking of replacing the HVAC unit (which was over 40 years old and still working), Mike came out to give us an estimate. Then the pandemic hit and we put any change on hold. About a year later, Mike came out at least one more time to inspect the unit and give us an updated estimate. We never felt any pressure from him to replace the unit. We always appreciated Mike's professionalism, kindness and patience. We always trusted his advice. T he company did what it said it would do in a very timely fashion at a fair price. I recommend Skokie Valley Air Control without any hesitation. Definitely a 5-Star company!

Today was the first cold day in Chicago and our house was not heating properly. I called Skokie Valley at 1 PM and at 2:45 pm, Tony the technician from Skokie Valley arrived. Tony was meticulous in identifying the problem. Instead of coming in and identifying the first issue, Tony spent the time to determine what caused that issue. Eventually, Toni found the defective part causing all the problems and fix only that part which avoided a costly repair. I am happy to say that as I write this review, my house is warm on Chicago’s first cold day.
Joe was great. We don't have a simple system and he was open minded in getting it done. We have a honeywell zoned system with 4 wires so it was not an easy task He took the time to trace the wires, figure out what each was doing and install 2 ecobee thermostats. I've thought about tackling it myself and gave in. So Happy. Mark

They have been great every time I needed them. It was time to replace the furnace -- they came and answered all my question as well as giving me a fair price for the new furnace and the confidence that it will be a job well done.
They performed their annual maintenance on our furnace. The service man recommended changing the filter every 6 months even though it's rated for one year. After pulling it out he was right - very dirty. He also opened a heating duct for us so we could retrieve some lost items at no extra charge. Thanks much for the good service!

I have been a customer of Skokie Valley for over 30 years and found them to be not only proficient but trustworthy. Their technicians have been with them for many years and know what the are doing. I have found that their pricing have beat their competition constantly. I just had a Carrier furnace installed and as usual they did a great job. They even went out of their way to get me all of the rebates that I was entitled to. You would be in safe hands with this company!
My house didn't feel cool and the a/c kept running for a long time. It's been a week since Skokie Valley replaced my A/C evaporator on 7/22/20. My a/c had a leak in the lines somewhere. I gave up on my long time service provider, Allied Heating and Air Conditioning simply because they didn't provide options other than putting in a new a/c system costing more than $4000. Even after asking them what else I could do, because I could not pay that price. Lesson learned, get multiple quotes even with your long time providers to make sure they are still being honest. Michael from Skokie Valley did promptly show up to provide a quote and also give me couple options. He explained the risk of just replacing the evaporator coil on the inside which would be a fraction of the cost. The outside fan and condenser could still have life in it, but the worst case is there is also a leak there which I would end up having to replace also. The key piece is time and cost of debt, if I can buy a few years to be prepared to replace the outside, why change the whole system. It occurred to me that the components never go out all at the same time anyway. Al and Flavio also did a professional job on the install, being respectful of my property and cleaning up after. I'll add some pictures to show the outcome.
Greg came out to our home for an assessment and consultation with respect to our system which included AC and water heater. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain what our situation entailed and made the proper recommendations to rectify the situation. He had been to our home 2 years ago and solved a different issue where I had the gas company out as well as 2 other contractors who found no issue. I would ONLY use Skokie Valley Air and ask for Greg.
