Wouldn't you know it, our furnace wouldn't heat on the coldest day of of the year (so far). I've used Jim's and Western in the past, but wanted to use a less expensive, more local family-owned company. My friends suggested Shanco (now called Peppy). Doing my research, they have a whopping 300+ superior reviews on Google, Angie's, HomeAdvisor and they also had several neighbor recommendations on my go-to Nextdoor phone app. Peppy (Shanco) had 5 star user reviews for not just repairs and service, but also for complete new HVAC system installations. I chose Shanco. I had no heat and it was the weekend (of course) but not an emergency, so I called Peppy to request weekday service, then turned on a couple space heaters.. They called first thing Monday morning and come out that afternoon The specialist (Alex) did the diagnosis, found the 2 problems (one was the insulation on the thermostat wires was worn off so intermittently shorting out the controls). I was back on line in no time, and Alex then checked out the HVAC system for me to ensure proper operation, not just for the heater but the AC as well. I have a heat pump as the primary heating source but although it's very economical to use, it takes hours to get the home up to temp in the morning. He set up the controller to bypass the heat pump so that the gas heater is now our primary source, a much faster heating option for me! I am very satisfied with Peppy’s excellent service, technical expertise, and their follow-up efforts to ensure I'm a happy customer. My total bill was only $65, great news since it was $25 cheaper than other providers, and best of all, that service call charge is applied to the repairs. There was no added up-charges and no up-selling of needless annual tuneups.. If you choose SHANCO HVAC, you can be a happy customer as well.
I had a relatively small project. The 2 guys were here on time, worked fast, cleaned up and just did a fine job. They also did some venting work a few weeks ago, related to a large remodel. They are now my go to company.
Peppy Heating and Cooling is great to work with. The technicians are knowledgeable and care about doing a great job! We’ve utilized their help for a few years now at both an office building and at our personal residence. They are always very professional and stand by their work. For replacement services or when we decided to install a mini split the owner, Brett, is very responsive to answering questions and helping figure out what makes sense. Great communication and follow-up.
Peppy Heating and Cooling has serviced and fixed our HVAC several times. The service rep, Alex, has been quick, efficient and very satisfactory. I also saved money on a couple repairs due to being on their membership club.
Excellent experience from start to finish! My only regret is not finding them sooner!
Juan was thorough in examining my entire system, took pictures and explained in detail all the repairs needed. There was no pressure to replace or upgrade my system, even though it's over 30 years old. He also found an evaporative component which was completely missing that had caused water to accumulate and begin to mold. It's undetermined how long my system has been without this component, but I will say that while I had a VIP subscription for 3 years with Western Heating and Air they never caught it or fixed it. I'm very happy with Peppy's, they've definitely earned my trust and patronage
We are at a week with the new system and everything seems fine. Salesman was courteous and honest and installers were excellent!
Alex helped reset thermostat from automatic settings. From winter to summer. This was so helpful. Thank you Alex it was nice to have you back again at the house 🤗 GOD's Blessings.
1)Our furnace broke and I called one of the big companies from Tv. They came out and gave me a ridiculous bid. They were Betting on me being cold to go with them. Got a second opinion from Brett. He got the part in the same day that the big company could. He fixed it and save me over $200. I like doing business with small business. Much more personable service than with the big company. I recommend Peppy to anybody, great service, great person. 2) May 2023 our furnace fan stopped working Saturday. Sunday I filled out the service request online. Within two hours I received a call to set up a service appointment for the soonest time I was available. They were available a day earlier than I expected! The work was finished in three hours even with a parts run. Alex was an awesome service technician. Another great example of a solid company. I highly recommend Peppy.
Cody serviced my HVAC systems (2 furnaces and 2 AC units). He was professional, knowledgeable and nice to work with. He provided me with updates on the state of systems and suggestions on maintenance going forward. I plan on using Peppy on all my future HVAC needs. I had talked to Brett, the owner, on the phone. I appreciate how he cares about the service his company provides.
The entire process of having our Tankless water heater installed was made simple by Peppy. Scheduling was simple, the tech arrived within the time given and offered feedback on our system and potential issues down the line. Overall an incredible experience.
We had Shanco install new heating and air system last June 2020. They did quality work putting in a great HVAC system. We’d gotten other bids and theirs was the best. We just had the air conditioning one year service done and the young man that came out was very thorough. He even cleaned out the winter debris from the unit outside and tested the air flow in the house. Past company on our old system didn’t do that. We highly recommend Shanco!

Alex was really wonderful. He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave us options and estimates for repair. He provided emails with photos immediately after the appointment. He was prompt, efficient and communicated well. The work he did was high quality and we couldn’t be happier.

An exhaust hose for a bathroom fan broke in a tight spot. The unit was too close to the soffit to make for an easy repair. That unit needed removed and a new bathroom fan needed to be installed in a more accessible spot. Others told me they would have to make the space in the drywall larger for accessibility. Alex did a great job approaching this task. Alex looked at the problem carefully and said he would do his best to avoid making more damage than necessary. He did exactly that! He was able to find a way to complete the job by avoiding any unnecessary demolition. Alex made a challenging job very easy by looking at the problem, planning accordingly, and following through with his approach. Alex made me feel comfortable. There were no high pressure sales pitched. He was solely responsive to the job I needed completed and explained options of his approach to me clearly. The quote Alex and his team gave me fit my budget and alleviated a lot of stress. The cleanup was completed to a very high standard. Many thanks to Alex! I continue to be super impressed!
