UPDATE: To the "owner" that replied, your "assessment" was in fact incorrect, the float valves are functional and both intact, that's a fact, come out and verify for yourself, but when you do, post that you were incorrect. You've got to do only the work required, don't encourage your techs to over charge people. Also, I never called my tech while yours was there, I looked up the price of the part that didn't need to be replaced. I also positively commented on the response time, which is great but not at the cost of a misdiagnosis and a complete gauging on the mark up. How do you justify charging nearly $600.00 for a $25 part? If anything else, answer that question for your potential customers that want a fair price and service. Why is your mark up 23X the cost of the actual part? Forget about the misdiagnosis your tech provided, answer why your mark up is 23X the actual cost of the part? You did the wrong thing here, maybe overall you guys don't do that but you lost here, admit it, fix it and don't price gauge customers, be better than the rest, not a hog. It’s a shame because I originally gave this company a good review but after having another experienced tech look at the AC unit the next day it was revealing. Hopkins AC answered the call and dispatched their tech promptly after I called at 6pm, he arrived by 7:30. He originally diagnosed that my float valves were non functional and he had a replacement on the truck. I looked up the part it cost about $25, unfortunately he had to charge $566.00 for the part due to the company mark up apparently. I didn’t want to pay that because I know an AC tech who was available the following day. The rep from Hopkins said he could disconnect the float valve and it would run fine as long as it didn’t leak for some reason. I took the chance and let him do that, paid the $129 service fee and had AC that night. We had another company come out three times in a week, the installed our AC a year and a half ago to find out why the system was not working. It was one excuse after another. We called Hopkins at 7pm this evening, they came out by 8:15 and showed us the issue. Did a short term fix to provide us cool air until we can do the proper correction. They have a client for life!!!!
Miguel just left our home after servicing and repairing our A/C system an d I'd like to say that he is very professional and understands A/C systems. He repaired our unit and left me feeling like he knows what he is doing, which is difficult to find these days in many home repair industries.
I had a scheduled maintenance check with Hopkins Air Conditioning today. Such a great experience, from Britney and Joyce at call support to the gentleman Tino, who performed the maintenance. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He identified a potential mold issue and took the necessary steps to help control it. Excellent!!!

On July 4, my AC stopped cooling my condo. Hopkins came out within 90 minutes and found and fixed the problem quickly. Crisis averted! They’re always professional and responsive.
The guy who came was nice however, I was charged $441.00 to replace my capacitor. Turns out, the cost of a capacitor is only $40.00. When I asked the tech about the difference he said that is the 2 year warranty. Needless to say I won't be using them again nor will the friend who referred me to them.

Tried to charge me $4,500 to replace all major components under the guise the system was absolutely toast. *Did not offer any other alternative* Had another reputable contractor recommended to me by my home inspector. They fixed the AC unit for $450 and gave advice on how to keep the unit running/maintenance. Only putting this here because I know most people don't realize that they are overpaying for services.

They were very responsive and arrived on time. Sadly this is not the norm for many contractors, so I give them props here. They showed zero interest in fixing a 20 year old unit (I expected that). So no deductions, it needs to go. However, they verbally quoted me 9K for a 4 ton unit (did no provide any additional details or documents). I was told it was expensive because they pay their employees $30/hr. Two people can install in AC in under 8 hours easily. So that's a silly answer, do the math. You can buy a 4 ton 16 seer Goodman online for 4k (5k through Amazon) after taxes. An additional 4-5k for parts and labor seems excessive. The next quote I received came in at $6800 without any negotiation.
Truly amazing service! Came out on a Saturday morning on time. Assessed the issue immediately. John was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to explain the details. He couldn’t access all areas of the system and is returning Monday to follow up and not charging for an additional service call. Their maintenance plan is worth it!
