You need a Florida Contractors License to purchase parts from this locations. Period. This isn't a Home Depot / Lowe's. I work for one of the biggest Trane dealers in Naples and i'm purely doing this in response to "ApprenticeThatTextstooMuch"s 1-Star Review. You ever notice that almost ALL the 1-Star reviews on anything down here in south floirda are ALWAYS some northerner that gets mad because things don't work EXACTLY how they do up in "PIttsburgh" (or *insert northern state here*) or whatever? Guess what, THIS IS NOT WHERE YOU LIVE 9 MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR. Its a different place! I know that you got your ego hurt because someone wouldn't drop everything they are doing because of your tiny little issue, which btw, is not an "emergency" (i'm a 15 year HVACR veteren btw). Necessary hospitalization IS an emergency, not an appliance in the luxury home your renting breaking that could easily wait 2 days worst case. This isn't the first time that I have posted a 5-star anti-review to try to balance out the fact that so many self-absorbed boomers and senior citizens come down here, and simply because they have tons of cash because they grew up at the right place at the right time and didn't have to deal with a fraction of what people now have to deal with, doesn't mean you can go around bashing peoples businesses because you had one tiny little issue. The world doesn't revolve around you, believe it or not, and it really shows your and everyone else's weak character that you have to resort to internet terrorism in order to get your petty revenge because someone followed the proper protocols of their business. People try to do what you did ALL THE TIME down here which is why we have to enforce the rules, this Trane is top notch and I call them nearly daily to order parts etc. If "ApprenticeThatTextstooMuch" was such an 18 year veteran than he should have known to probably go to Grainger in the first place. If I could give zero stars I definitely would. I recently got married down in Florida and had to visit a few family members after the ceremony. While staying with the family for the weekend the air-conditioner broke. I’ve been doing heating and cooling for 18 years in the north so I have a little bit of experience working on them. All I needed was a Dual capacitor that roughly cost of $15. It was an emergency it happened on a Saturday night little after midnight we had a two-year-old in the house, relatives with breathing problems it was 82° in the house. So I called the after hour number and they advised me that since I do not have a Florida Contractors license We cannot sell you any parts. Even though I work for one of the largest HVAC contractors in Pittsburgh and we go to Trane daily up here. I would’ve provided any CFC license or my union card information to show I was in fact a well respected technician up here. I stopped by Trane today up here and notified them of what happened and they are not happy. I do understand the Florida license but I was not purchasing multiple air-conditioners or anything extreme! This was simply an emergency I just needed one simple part that was under warranty I might add. I managed to get help from GRAINGERS. “No questions asked!!!” So I bought two from them and You guys should honestly re-think your customer service end.
Fantastic and FAST SERVICE. We got out of the truck and went into the store and were quickly greeted and served. We filed our warranty and received our parts all within 15 minutes. Juan served us excellently with a smile and we would be glad to work with him again. Good job Southwest Florida Trane!
