We have used imperial at least 3 times and I am always impressed by their professionalism and quality of their work. They are responsive and keep us updated throughout the job. They were very helpful recently when we had a leak in our basement. Another plumber wanted to rip down a wall to replace a whole section of pipe. Imperial was able to do it without any cosmetic damage and for a fraction of the cost. Very satisfied.

Had a great experience with them this morning. No problem too small for them to help with. My situation was so minor, they could have turned me away, but didn't! Highly recommend!

I discovered a leaky electric hot water tank on a snowy Friday morning, called for help, and by noon the same day Eddy and Leon had delivered a new tank, disconnected the old one and replaced it, and we had hot water again. I’ve been a customer since 1979, and have always been pleased by the service and attentiveness we have received. Great experience!

A neighbor had warned me about this company but I ignored them because they were local and also a neighbor. I paid over $400/yr for their maintenance service but they never showed up unless I called to remind them. They sent over men to clean the tank who asked about the security system and cameras in my home and then, despite my contract indicating that they would check the levels and fill the tanks accordingly, they did not fill the tank for well over a year causing it to empty so that we had no means of drying clothes or cooking during the pandemic. When they finally filled the tank, they tripled the rental fee and would not provide a written explanation. Don't do what I did and make sure you heed my neighbor's warning and pick another company for all your heating and plumbing needs!!!

Updated below 4/1/2021 TL:DR: Contact "Advanced Plumbing & Heating, Inc." out of Newington, CT instead. If Imperial screws up they will not even attempt to help out a customer. We purchased our newly built house in December 2013. On November 15, 2014 I noticed there was water leaking from the gate valve located directly above the hot water heater. The water had pooled on top of the water heater and began rusting various parts of the unit, including the water supply connection which is built into the unit. I contacted the home builder via email, who contacted Imperial, who sent a technician out to fix the issue. The technician came the next day and simply tightened the leaking gate valve, called it fixed and left. The technician had not completely resolved the issue because the only way to fix it was to completely replace the water heater because the corrosion process had already begun and in a few years the rust would completely eat through the water inlet connection and cause complete failure. Not to mention, a few months later the gate valve continued leaking. Fast forward to August 18, 2017, I went to take a shower in the morning and there was no hot water. When I went downstairs I noticed the water heater had finally rusted through and a lot of water was on the floor, so I immediately turned off the water supply to the unit to stop the leak. I contacted the builder that day to ask what action I should take but was informed the owner of the company would not be available for at least a week. At this time my wife was 2 weeks away from giving birth so I contacted another local plumber, Advanced Plumbing and Heating in Newington, CT, who came out the next business day and replaced the unit. They also helped me out by managing to claim the failure under warranty. Only the cost of the unit was covered of course, but the labor was not. I emailed the builder notifying him of what had occurred. I recapped the entire issue from the time I noticed the leak in 2014 to wh

They were exactly what I was looking for. Arrived on time, did a great install quickly, and left the place clean and neat, after a very professional water heater installation. Crew was very helpful explaining everything. I asked them to look at my daughter’s shower to see if they can fix a faucet, and they did it for no extra charge explaining that they still have time allocated! Hot water is back!! Thank you.

I scheduled an boiler tuneup appointment at the beginning of November and they cancelled it. According to the voicemail, they said they were that week and had me reschedule it which I did reschedule at the beginning of December. I waited for 2 +hours and no one showed up. I called them to check my appointment. They checked and told me they called me to cancelled the appointment. I told her I called back to reschedule it so she hold me for a while. Then she told me I am not an oil delivery customer and they are busy servicing those customers. I can schedule appointment in Spring while they are not busy. The reason is reasonable and I get that. But can you guys let me know when I schedule the appointment or even you cancel my first appointment or even I can back to reschedule the appointment! Not until I wait for 2 hours and call you to find out. I had the tuneup done with them last year and it's really good. However, I am really disappointed this time.

Service is very important and Imperial Oil has always been there for me with automatic oil deliveries, as well as, furnace and plumbing emergencies on weekends, nights and even once during a snow storm with zero temps. I've been with them for many years and they are excellent. They are not just my oil company, they are also my friends. Thanks everyone at Imperial Oil.

Recently had a gas fireplace replaced and called up Mike. He was very thorough, explained all the different options and transparent with pricing. The gentleman that came to install the fireplace was on time, very polite, and most importantly quick and skilled. Highly recommend and will be doing more business with them in the future.

We just recently had a propane tank and line installed by Imperial. They were amazing! From coming over to quote us and discuss placements of the tank to the completed install we were treated like family. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

My wife and I were looking into getting a propane tank and on demand hot water heater installed. Read very good reviews about Imperial, but that was not the case in this situation. Mike came out to the house and apparently looked around for 10 minutes, then suggested we get the propane tank installed behind the shed, never mentioning the 10 foot variance from a property line. On top of that, he was going to put the tank around 200 feet from the road, and most propane trucks/companies only carry 125 foot hoses to fill tanks, which would have been a major issue. Then it gets worse, a week later, we are waiting for the quote, and it hasn't arrived, I call Mike, and he says oh yeah, I will finish it tonight and email you tomorrow morning. Never got a quote! My wife called the place days later and left a message. A representative calls back and apologizes and says we will get you a quote immediately! 3 weeks later, still no quote! It's ok though, we found a company that is professional and wants our business! Very disappointed!!!!!!

We first were introduced to Imperial Oil Co about 40 years ago when they were the company used by our home builder in South Windsor to install furnace, central air etc... in our newly built home there. For about 25 years thereafter we were customers of Imperial for oil delivery and general plumbing needs. Ed Havens, Mike and all the crew were always friendly, responsive and professional. We would never have thought to go elsewhere. About 15 years ago we built our current home in Bloomfield and since the heating is done by gas we no longer required oil delivery. Thankfully, the Imperial crew still services us for general plumbing needs and while the frequency of interaction is a lot less, they remain responsive and always friendly and professional. They are one of the most ethical, reasonable and responsive companies I have ever done business with and would highly recommend them.
