I had a great experience with the Carswell team, from their office staff to their installation crews. They were very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. They installed a heating unit in my home and the work was done with high quality and they left the area clean and tidy. I would recommend them to anyone.
These people are friendly, professional, and offer quality work. I wouldn't hesitate calling them for heating and air conditioning services.
Our heater went out over the Christmas holiday so the next Monday I dropped by the shop as I was running errands, talked with one of the techs who set me up for a call at the end of that day. Bless him, an hour and a half later we had heat! You go guys!
We've used Carswell a bunch of times for duct work and heater service/repairs and have always been very impressed with their work. We just had them replace our old furnace and the install job with the new Lennox unit is immaculate. No little detail was missed, they even replaced the screws in the filter holder at the cold air return to have flatter heads so the filters would fit better. I was joking that we should put a glass door on the closet at the end of the hallway to showcase our new furnace and how clean the install is. This is a family business and their attention to detail shows that they treat their reputation as their most valuable asset.
This company is excellent. I needed central air installed, and they did a fantastic job. They always promptly returned calls and emails, and stuck to appointments they made. When I asked for advice on AC units, Alex responded with great detail via email. They had fair prices, did an excellent job with the install and even returned to modify the ducting configuration slightly so it would perform better, at no extra expense to me, and with no prompting by me, just because they decided amongst themselves after the job that it would be better if they came back to make the change. They helped install a new door lock my wife was working on just because they happened to be there at the time. I don't do a lot of reviews, but felt I should this time because it is clear that these folks really care about the quality of their work, and their professionalism - a rare thing these days. Highly recommend.
Carswell Heating and Sheet Metal is that special combination of value, professionalism, and quality work that you rarely see these days. Not only were the gentlemen who installed our AC knowledgeable and courteous, but they went the extra mile to accommodate our newborn baby--even carrying our stroller up from the street and fixing our door handle while we were out! Their work was impeccable, and I cannot begin to express my gratitude for their kindness and thoughtfulness. Worth their weight in gold.
I had an old furnace that was more than 25 years old. Alex came out and replaced my furnace with a new Lennox furnace. The winter was coming and I was very happy to get a very quick appointment. Alex and his brother did a great job and I'm very pleased with my new furnace. It works great!
Carswell is great! How do I know? The aging, jerry-rigged heater in our old house died. Alex Carswell not only repaired the heater, but also brought it back to proper operation. He tested all the parts and replaced several, all the while explaining what each part does and what the tests should show. On top of this, he squeezed us into his schedule AND worked late on a Friday night to finish everything up. And he kept me apprised via texts, and showed up on the dot.
They are amazing. When the heater went out two weeks ago (on a saturday) one of the carswell family arrived within an hour! Turns out the heater was put in by his grandfather!! Talk about value! New heater in today, by one of the grandsons. Amazing, polite, professional!! Thank you Carswells!
We are very satisfied with the job that Carswell did replacing our ancient furnace with a new energy efficient one. They were polite and professional, friendly and communicative. Rob fit us in for a quote on the replacement with super short notice, and Alex penciled us in quickly too - we're grateful we found them in time! ...Especially since the old one had a huge hole causing a CO leak! I even learned a few things about home heating systems from Taylor! Finally, we were satisfied with their observance of covid-19 protocols. We will certainly be return customers for anything else that we need done, and they have our full recommendation. Oh - and they cleaned up after themselves :)
When my heater stopped working recently, I used Yelp to find someone to fix it. I chose Carswell Heating & Sheet Metal based on the number of 5 star reviews posted on Yelp. As a matter of fact, nothing but 5 star reviews. I called them and spoke to Alex Carswell. I explained my problem to him and he told me he just happened to be on another job just down the street from me. Alex was at my house within an hour. My heater is 32-years-old so I was worried that he might not be able to fix it due to its age and lack of available parts. He worked on it like it was an old friend of his that he had known forever. He thoroughly examined all of the internal workings and cleaned a number of components as he worked his way through diagnosing the problem. He found a sensor / switch that was not working and as luck would have it, he had a newer version of that part in his van. Now my heater is working again and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. The price was more than reasonable. I was very impressed with Alex. He was great. Intelligent, articulate and very knowledgeable. I also like the fact that he is the co-owner of the business along with other family members who also do the work in the field. Carswell Heating & Sheet Metal will be my go to for all heater and sheet metal related needs from now on. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends.
Carswell Heating installed our new furnace in December. From start to finish, a very professional job. The service tech, and 2 installers were very courteous and knowledgeable. Appointments were right on time, and the area was left spotless. Also nice to know that they are a longtime local, family business. Highly recommend this business !
These guys were awesome! Very friendly and professional. They gave us a very competitive bid for installing our furnace. They finished even sooner than the quote originally given to us. They made sure to clean up afterwards, even the little stuff. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing HVAC work done. 3rd generation company and it shows why they are still around.
Last winter my furnace broke down. I sent Carswells an email through their website and was able to get an appointment the next day. They had a new furnace in the following day and later when the weather was warmer they replaced my heating outlet covers and moved my thermostat. Nice company and a great value.
I got three quotes from local businesses to add air conditioning to my home in the Carmel Valley village. Carswell's was prompt and courteous and was the first to get me a quote and the cheapest quote as well. Turns out its a family business with two generations working there currently. On install day I didn't have to follow them around or answer a million questions. They did a fantastic job and made sure any holes in my home were sealed properly and gave me some tips on helping my air conditioning run its best when it gets hot here.
I had solar installed recently by Alterra solar group. Was happy with them but that story is for another review. As a result of having a strong solar system I had electricity to spare. I did lots of research and found the second biggest energy hog in my home was my heating system. My research kept leading me back to an electric heat pump system that would provide heating and cooling year round . I wanted to get my home split into three separate areas for individual heating and or cooling . I contacted a few local companies and got prices and information that varied slightly . I was impressed with Carswell mostly because they showed up when they said they would and were the most reasonably priced. On a historic home details matter and that is where I was most satisfied with their work. They were able to coordinate a system for my home that was quiet as well which was great.
Love this place ! My energy bills on my new home were incredibly high and PGNE told me to call a local heating contractor . The service tech was prompt and friendly and actually took his boots off which was nice ( 2 kids with allergies in my home) I ended up getting a Lennox furnace and couldn't be more happy. Not only is the heating in my home far more consistent but my energy bills dropped around 40% and the heater is almost completely silent. Not just the service tech but the two installers were actually family as well which is nice to see !
We had a new furnace put in our home replacing the one that was installed when the house was built in 1979 and we couldn't have been more pleased with the whole process. We had been given quotes from two other places but Carswell had the best offering and the best pricing. The crew showed up on time, removed the old furnace and had the new extremely efficient furnace up and running quickly. They had to fabricate a new transition plenum and reconnect all of the ducts and did so with perfection. They paid attention to details even if it is out of sight and cleaned up after themselves. Great job and great price and now our home is running warm and efficiently. Big thanks job well done. I would recommend Carswell heating highly.

Carswell Sheet Metal is as good as it gets if you need any type of heating service in the Monterey area. They are knowledgeable, friendly and affordable. I had them repair a furnace of mine about three months ago. They only charged me a fraction ($200 vs $625) that another local company wanted to charge for the same thing. Definitely give them a shot!
