The issue: My family and I were saved by Calvey Heating and Air! It was during a heat wave when in the evening we noticed that our A/C was not generating cold air. This may not be the end of the world but with 2 small kids and my wife and I working from home, it’s a major inconvenience and less than ideal in terms of comfort. First interaction: The next day, Calvey Heating and Air were on scene to perform a diagnostic. Even though I was not home at the time to discuss and review with the technician, Enrique took the time to call me and walk me through the issues and all options. Furthermore Enrique was incredibly patient by answering all my questions with thorough explanations. Second interaction: With enough information to make and informed decision, we agreed to replace our 20 year HVAC system instead of bandaging the issues. Joe Calvey had the new units and material delivered and stage on location the next day with the install date booked. Third interaction: Enrique and team arrived on site exactly as planned and began doing what they do best. Not only were they efficient but they also took the time to ensure the job site was safe, clean and protected. After a couple of hours, the team had completed the install and made sure that the entire system was working properly ( the heating, cooling, thermostat, etc). Once again Enrique took the time to explain the “ins and outs” of the new system along with how and when I should PM the units to ensure their effectiveness each season. To the entire team at Calvey Heating and Air, thank you very much for everything you all did! It’s incredibly rare to get the trustworthy and efficient trade services that you provided.
Calvey did an excellent job on our entire project to replace our ACs and gas furnaces with a Heat Pump setup. I researched heat pumps extensively, spoke to several people during my research, and got quotes from five companies. Michael Calvey was very knowledgeable, explained the pros and cons well, and did not oversell. In fact, he pushed back against something I asked to replace as not being necessary, which I really appreciate. With a couple of other quotes/companies, I definitely felt like I was being recommended additional work I did not need. The entire project was executed well. Servando, as the Project Manager, was especially great! Servando, Adolfo and the rest of the team did an excellent job, kept me updated throughout, cleaned up well each day, and completed the project on schedule. Servando did a very detailed walkthrough at the end, identified a couple of issues, immediately took ownership of them and resolved them well. Another highlight of the Calvey team is the communication - from the quote, to project scheduling, to project execution, to scheduling HERS tests, to scheduling Permit inspections with the City. Even after the project has been completed and all payments made, I've called twice to resolve minor issues and Servando has come over the same day to resolve it both times. I've also had a couple of questions and someone calls me back right away. I'm thrilled to see that they stand behind their work and have a mindset of "let's fix it right away". Overall, I'm glad I picked Calvey and recommend them wholeheartedly! Rahul
I recently had the pleasure of working with Calvey Heating and Air and I couldn't be happier with the service I received. From the initial consultation to the final installation, the team were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain every step of the process and made sure all of my questions were answered. The installation was completed efficiently, and the my new heat pump system is working great. I highly recommend Calvey to anyone in need of HVAC services. They are truly experts in their field and you won't be disappointed.

The house owner hired them to clean the dryer vent. The person they sent managed to break a cleaning tool inside of the vent/duct and get it stuck there - granted, that can happen. However, after the incident, the first idea they suggested to solve it was "we'll have to cut through the garage ceiling/sheet rock". We insisted there must be something else to attempt before radical construction work. Technician said "I can try to buy a cable with tool to pull it out of duct. I'll get it and come back in 2 weeks" :0 After we got the house owner on phone, they agreed to try to solve it today. A few lost hours later, without much better tools, they inserted and broke a second tool inside the duct. I will update this review if this company actually comes back and solves the problem in a professional and responsible fashion.
We called Calvey after using another company as we needed our gas furnace repaired. The other company's technician was not able to find the problem; he said he could not find any "error codes" on his diagnostic tool and even wrote on the invoice "The system is working without problem". He told us to remove the filter inside the house on the cold air return to prevent a backflow problem to the furnace, so we did. We even bought a new thermostat, even though the thermostat we had was only 1 year old. Nothing changed - the furnace was still blowing cold air. We called Calvey and their tech 'Simon' arrived on time and we explained the problem to him. He went under the house and after checking a few things, he came out and told us he had found the problem. There was some residue on one of the 3 burners that was preventing gas flow to the igniter, so none of the furnace burners could ignite. He cleaned off the residue and the furnace works perfectly. It was an easy to diagnose, easy to fix problem and the other company tech should have found it. Simon was pleasant, professional and on time and really knowledgeable. This is a very professional company with great technicians. We will use Calvey for all of our future service calls. We wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend Calvey to everyone!!
I have a high efficiency, gas furnace that I like to have inspected yearly. I decided to switch from former service provider to Calvey based on reviews. They lived up to all the excellent reviews. The appointment was just about an hour. Everything in working order, filter changed out, and I was very happy with the service. I have already recommended Calvey to a friend who will be calling them for her annual maintenance. Good communication, service and value checked off all the marks. Online payment portal very easy and with a credit card.
Calvey's crew did a fast, professional job installing our ducted heat pump system in the summer of 2021. Their bid was competitive, and they started and finished on time. The crew was super easy to work with. They kept the noise down so we could keep up our work-from-home routine during the installation.
Can't say enough good things about them. They replaced the forced Air unit, and added AC. Asked about changing out the duct work, and they said no need to. Honest folks, quality work. Shout out to Brianna and Simon.
Calvey installed HVAC system at our place and I am very impressed with their excellent service. The thermostat we had was not compatible with the HVAC and had to be replaced twice; and they were helpful installing it both times. If I have anything to complain about, I wish I could get their services earlier; it was more than a 2 month wait
I needed to install a new HVAC system in the house and got two quotes from prominent local Pleasanton area contractors. The quotes being so wide apart, I found myself on some local Facebook group trying to gather more information. Joe Calvey (the owner of Calvey Heating & Air) provided someone good feedback and we ended up speaking on the phone. He stopped by my place a few days later and gave me a quote that was unbelievably lower than my two previous quotes. I did have my apprehensions but based on all the reviews past happy customers had written, I took my chances with them. My complete installation job was just done a few days back. These guys are the real deal - very friendly, customer oriented and professional guys. Aidan Calvey was the job-site supervising the installation. He’s super friendly and always available to answer questions and provide reassurances. A great overall experience all over. Highly recommended.
Calvey added A/C to our central air system a year ago and it has performed flawlessly. They solidified their 5 star rating with a quick turnaround for an emergency repair. My HVAC unit was not receiving power and I called Calvey in the morning. They scheduled a tech for the same day, who diagnosed the problem as a bad fuse. They actually upgraded the fuse to a reset-able breaker and DIDN'T CHARGE ME FOR THE PARTS OR LABOR! Granted, their A/C install comes with a warranty but I don't believe they modified this part of the existing HVAC system (so it's not technically under warranty?), so essentially they went above and beyond for a previous customer. Thank you!
Calvey Heating and Air recently installed a new wall furnace in our family room. They completed the job in 1 day and were extremely professional and punctual throughout the process. I would absolutely recommend Calvey to others for their HVAC needs.

The duct work in our crawl space needed repairing. Calvey came out to have a look and unlike most of the other contractors I contacted didn't charge for the diagnostic visit! Bernie was extremely polite and professional and gave me a quote on the spot once he had looked at the required work and broke down the cost (cost per duct hookup x number of hookups that needed fixing). Compared to other quotes I had gotten the price was extremely reasonable. This is a minor thing but super important to me: I didn't once need to ask Bernie to use foot coverings, he just put them on any time he came into the house. It was very easy to contact the office again to set up a day for him to come back and fix things. On the day of the repair Bernie realised that he had underestimated the number of hookups that needed repairing and had to leave in order to get more parts. I was very pleasantly surprised when he didn't charge me for the extra work, especially since the price was so good in the first place. I would highly recommend Calvey to anyone: extremely professional, good value and excellent workmanship.

Julio Garcia visited my home and fixed my attempt to replace my heater thermostat. He gave me a choice of replacements, professionally installed it and showed me how to operate it. In addition, he gave me very valuable guidance on how to replace my ancient electrostatic filter components with a high-quality paper filter and how do direct my heater vent so as not to confuse my room temperature sensor. He made an extra effort to make sure I got all the information I needed. Excellent customer service. Thank you Calvy.
Our air conditioning refrigerant was slowly leaking. Another HVAC company refilled the refrigerant a few times and was planning to do a very expensive three-part test to determine where the leak was. A friend recommended that we have Calvey check the system as he had used Calvey for many years. Julio Garcia from Calvey came to our house, looked at the system and quickly determined that the leak was almost certainly in the outside coil, so the expensive test was not needed. The manufacturer agreed to replace the coil and Julio installed the new coil. The system is now working perfectly. Julio also repaired our second air conditioning system at a third the cost of a previous quote. We have found Julio and Calvey to be responsive, professional and fairly priced.
I almost never review stuff, but these guys were awesome to deal with from start to finish. At quote, they actually listened to what I wanted which led them to suggest a heat pump rather than just bolting on an AC (I'm putting in lot's of solar too), and also noticed that the blower would be the wrong size to match the size of AC I wanted anyways. The crews that did all the install work were very professional, and went out of their way to make sure that they didn't punch unnecessary holes in my walls; were polite and lovely to have around the house; and were generally great. The cost came out very competitive too. Kudos to Joe and team.
