Horrible business. They knew nothing about the services they offered. Refused to provide any information about products themselves or warranty. Kept insisting on sending a service person to give a quote refusing to answer even the simplest of questions. Person answering, Caitlin, sounded like a 20 year old brat, who had absolutely no respect and would not let me edge a word in, would not let me speak to her supervisor, and in the end hung up on me, after claiming I am not a customer yet and I don't get to demand respectful treatment. When I tried calling back, system kept disconnecting me. Almost as if they have blocked the number. BTW They had no information that I provided to HomeDepo for consult. Right off the bat they wanted to sell me repair subscription service before I even purchased any unit from them. After I called them directly and set up a call back, another person, Caitlin, called and canceled whole thing. Claiming that all their service people are busy but she'll be happy to have one come to my house tomorrow (so they have time to drive to my house, but not to call and tell me what warranty is offered on an HVAC unit....!?) Essentially, its a boiler room that provides "free consultation" and then pressures you into an expensive system or a subscription repair service. They have no time or respect for you unless you buy something and they (at least Caitlin does) make that clear to you from the beginning. No wonder they have 2.5 stars on yelp…
I am revising my review to only three stars due to the fact that NINE (9) MONTHS after the install my new furnace still hasn't received an operating permit. OLD REVIEW: I am satisfied with my new furnace and everything that Smart72 did in regards to making it happen. The crew that was working at my home was professional, efficient, and courteous. The work of replacing and relocating the furnace from the floor of the garage to the rafters was quick and happened in one day.
After getting paid, smart 72 disconnected with the customer they provided services. We don’t know where they are and can not talk with them but they still charge monthly membership fee.
I am not able to reach to smart 72 to find out the amount they charge on the service. I call and the third party data center pick up and always say that they will pass the message to smart 72 but never get any phone call from smart 72.
TAKE NOTE, THERE IS NO OFFICE AND NO ONE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. THEY ONLY HAVE AN ANSWERING SERVICE WHICH DOES NOTHING MORE THAN FORWARD EMAILS. This company’s customer service is terrible. They are quick to come out and take your money, and lock you into a contract so you are stuck with them, but follow through is not their strong suit. I have had to step in and help my elderly parents after a month of phone calls from my parents have gone unanswered from Smart 72. They tacked on ridiculous charges to my parents bill and couldn’t even provide a reason why initially. Smart 72 installed this new AC unit only a couple of years ago, which was supposed to be a great thing, not so much now with summer approaching and my parents AC is broken and their month long effort to get it repaired has been met with nothing more than radio silence from Smart 72!
I reached out to Smart 72 in August 2022 when we were experiencing problems with our split AC/Heating system. Bianca arrived the next day and sold us an annual maintenance plan as we had several systems on our property, we thought this would be useful. I really wanted to give Smart 72 five stars and tell everyone how great they are but we have been extremely patient and disappointed! Over the course of the next 8 months we had service calls that were “no shows”, incorrect parts ordered (delaying our project), & used parts that showed up with our technician (unable to be installed). At one point a technician had installed a part incorrectly which caused our system to arch (& it was smoking and could have caused a house fire!). We have paid @ $4,000 to this company and our system is still not repaired! Now we are being told that all of the employees quit in the North Bay & that things are being managed from San Luis Obispo!?! All we want is a system that works! At one point a Manager (Gene) told us that they would complete our repair at no additional cost to us. We are still waiting for Smart 72 to make good on that promise!
I don't trust this smart 72 company. I used them to fix the heater in San Rafael city, CA. They charged me more than the amount on the paper agreement. I have been calling them for a month to find out the reason why they charged me a lot more than what they specified on the paper. They always pick up the phone and promise to call back, but they never call me back. This company is not professional company, and I won't use them again. I don't trust them anymore.
Smart 72 installed a heat pump system 5 weeks ago. David, the sales person, sent a photo of the heat pump they were going to install and ensured me that it wasn’t too big and could fit nicely in our Courtyard. They installed a different system, put the electrical conduit in the wrong place and ruined the entire courtyard. David told me he would be a the job site to ensure the work was done per our agreement. I told him numerous times that I wanted to have the work done when I was at the house but he said I didn’t need to because he would take care of it. I reluctantly agreed. The entire job was done wrong and the pump makes so much noise and blows directly to the outdoor table. During the installation I contacted David numerous times to see if they had questions. I never heard back from him. The next day we were able to see the work and we were absolutely shocked and completely disappointed. Smart 72 sent out 3 employees to review the situation and we were told they would remove the system. We asked for our gas furnace back and were told they had already recycled it (2 days after the installation). I was instructed to talk with the Installation Manager and then told I had to deal directly with David. I called David numerous times and left messages. David never responded. I We have had to file a complaint with the State Contractor Licensing Board and hire an Attorney. The system is still at our home. We have never posted anything on sites or had any issues with other companies. This has been a nightmare.
Our technician timothy came out the other day for a simple fix but he was quick and so kind and got the job done right! He was a joy to have come take a look out our equipment. Smart 73 in general has been beyond our expectations from start to finish and really took the stress out of all the excess that goes into installation thank you guys at smart72!
In the past, I was not a fan of Smart72, however, a recent encounter has forced me to have a change of heart. A few years ago, I called the office to inquire about HVAC services. The man in the office was very short and snappy with me when answering my questions, definitely did not give me the warm fuzzies... so I decided not to have the service done and figured I would wait to find another company. Fast forward to a few days ago when two men knocked on my door. One gentleman explained who they were and the other one, a very handsome tattooed man named Jay, explained he was there training him and gently stepped in to inform me of the awesome promotions Smart72 has. Jay was knowledgeable, professional, and very polite to both me and my 82-year-old grandmother who also lives in the house. By the end of our conversation, I was confident in my decision to give Smart72 another chance and I am looking forward to receiving their services.... especially if they send back Jay!
Smart72 is a solid one of a kind company. My dad and I met a couple guys roughly my age Jay and Danny and had a quick chat. Discovered smart72 is now a wrap around Smart home service company. We were a bit surprised to learn Jay was the director as he looks like a tattooed pro soccer players. This just goes to show smart72 are with the times and DONT JUDGE! both men were beyond polite all the while maintaining professionalism. So heck why not keep in local and you just can’t beat the price. Danny that doorbell better really be free.
My dislike for Smart72 was at least not evident until last week! A man knocked on my door nervously. A handsome ( extremely tattooed) man behind him stepped in and politely explained he was training him and he was part of the newmanagement team! After speaking with him, I can safely say they have hired educated professionals to come in and turn their establishment around. We now are recommending Smart72 and their new referral program. Thank you To Robert and the Adorable tattooed boss guy!
They have the cleanest shop I've ever seen. Reminds me of an Apple Store... huge on training and keeping their services as on-point and professional as possible. Amazing outfit
No complaints whatsoever. Bianca (I think) and another tech came out and did a simple repair in my 10+ yo system. Didn’t try to upsell me anything. Gave me good knowledge regarding future upkeep. 10/10 would reccomend
The team at Smart72 were super friendly and did a fantastic job. They removed the old furnace and effectively installed a whole new HVAC system with AC in a under day. It was very impressive. I also love how they were conscious of our animals to make sure they didn’t get out.
Smart 72 was incredible! I felt like my heating and ac needs were as important to them and they were to me. I find you just don’t see that level of commitment to customers much anymore and it really impressed our family. Our very happy and now wonderfully COOL family!
Very happy with our new furnace and air conditioning installation. The process was very smooth and the technicians we had were very patient with all of our questions, because we don’t know how these systems work. What made me pick Smart72 was that they are a mom and pop operation, and there was no hidden costs, and I also didn’t feel like I was talking to any sales person trying to pressure me into a deal. Thank you Bianca, Tyler, and Garrett!!!
I am very impressed by the level of service for this HVAC company. They maintained the furnace and explained what they were checking. At the end of the visit I knew more about the furnace than I ever did before and also what issues to look for. Their business policies are very consumer friendly. Their smart club membership(sort of insurance plan) costs gets applied to any full replacement system cost
