Honesty goes along way these days. Would recommend to anyone looking for 1st or 2nd opinion on any hvac repair. Tom was the best!
Last fall, my mom’s a/c wasn’t cooling her house. Called another business, service person stated her unit was leaking and couldn’t be repaired. Estimate to replacement unit was $11,000. Fast forward to this week, we decided to get another opinion and/or estimate. Called Alternative Heating and Air, they were able to come out quickly. Tom, the owner stated that the unit most likely has a pinhole leak and that others would say it’s not repairable but it is. Long story short, they were able to stop the leak and refill the coolant for $750. My mom’s on a fixed budget and while it was still $750, much more doable than $11,000. My mom stated Tom was super friendly, he even cleaned ac unit, replaced the filters and even helped my mom set her thermostat!! Thank You Alternative Heating & Air!!

I am so impressed with Alternative Heating and Air! We had them out to repair the HVAC unit on a rental. From the first phone call to the final handshake, this company was top notch! Our heater stopped working in the middle of a cold spell. I called and in less than 8 hours it was fixed. Great cost for labor, and tech. was responsive, friendly, and masked. Will use again.
Called Alternative Heating & Air for a second quote. They came in lower and were able to complete the repair the next day. Will use them again!
Nick and Jason inspected my furnace today--they explained the issues they found and discussed what was most important to get done, and what it would cost. They were clean and worked efficiently, and then they showed me exactly what they did, so I felt confident about their work. I highly recommend this small, local , and family-owned company. They are now my go-to company for heating and a/c maintenance and repairs--great company!
They installed my heater quite a few years ago. I had an issue with it this year and Tom came right away to take care of it. I felt like I was catching up with an old friend as he walked in and he took care of everything. This company is the best at making sure that the job is done right and you feel great about who you are having the work done by. This is the kind of business all other businesses strive to be like.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this one is well deserved. Great company, the owner went out of his way to make sure he serviced my unit the very next day. If you’re looking for a trustworthy HVAC contractor that won’t give you the run around and make sure he does everything he can to fix your unit this is the company to do it. Top notch service that deserves more than 5 stars!!!

Look no further, this is the only company you should use for any heating and air issues!!!! I had another company come out and look at my HVAC unit that was not putting out any heat. They had told me I needed to put in a while new unit, in the amount of $8,500, because the control board was bad and the part was not available anymore. I then had Alternative come out for a second opinion, in the hopes of maybe getting a slightly lower price on a new unit. They came out and within one hour had figured out the real problem and fixed it!!! So instead of having to buy a new $8,500 unit, I only had to pay $89 for the service!!!! The most honest and reliable company ever!! I will never use anyone else ever and neither should you!!!
A.C. went out last night & called the next morning at 8am. They had Tom come out just after 1pm same day & in less than 30 mins he had found the problem & fixed the faulty wires & checked everything else out just in case! Tom is awesome & we will definitely be reccomending this company to our friends.
All around excellent service!!! The technicians, Tom and Edwin, thoroughly explained what needed to be done. Tom gave me some diy options which didn't make me feel pressured to use his service. I appreciated his honesty and transparency. They now have a new loyal customer. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends!
Great service with an emphasis on quality and value. Very friendly and professional technicians. Installed a new condenser and serviced our 30 year old system 4 years ago and still going strong.
It's the middle of August in Chico. My AC quits. I call Alternative Heating and Air at 6:00 p.m. Tom shows up before noon the next day and fixes it. Although my system is going on 15 years old he does not try to sell me a new on. I'm all in with this company.
The best. In an industry, like many, that has the ability to take advantage of people they are a refreshing alternative. They are honest and talented which I think are the two most important attributes you could wish for when having someone diagnose and repair your issues. They've always done right by me. A company you can trust.
