Some takeaways before I start:
1 - Do not work with this company. I have had no issues with Donna, the receptionist, or with any of the techs. However, all it takes is one bad apple. In this case, the owner.

2 - Always take before and after pictures of any work you do to your home - especially with this company.

3- Always ask for a copy of a contracts liability insurance or insurance certificate before they start the work.

4 - Lastly, just do not work with this company. The owner tried his best to deny any wrongdoings despite their techs coming out to fix what they did not properly install initially. The proof I have is in the pictures and the pictures show otherwise.

I had my entire cooling system (air handler and compressor) replaced by engel in 2020. In February 2022, I noticed a water leak in our bathroom that is located right underneath the air handler. After a bit of research, I noticed that the condensate pump and line was not replaced by engel like they were supposed to. It also looks as though engel may not have procured the required permits from the township to perform this job.

I reached out to engel to inform them of my concerns immediately. During their first visit, I was told by the technician that he did not find any issues. After doing some research, I learned that the the safety overflow cut-off for the pump was never set up. This made perfect sense because engel never replaced the pump or line to begin with.

After almost a month of going back and forth, they finally send out someone to install a new pump and line. The resulting water damage was not addressed.

I called and emailed several times with no response. I finally went ahead and repaired the damage and repainted the bathroom walls and ceiling. It cost me $675 to get this done.

The owner finally called back yesterday, April 20th, saying that he was told by the techs that the pump or line had no issues. But out of good faith, he would write me a check for half of what it cost me to do the repair. I informed him that I was not willing to accept anything less than the invoice amount. I reminded him that his company came out and replaced the whole thing free of charge only a few days prior and that it did not make any sense for them to do that had they not been at fault.

I asked the owner for a copy of Engels liability insurance, which he refused to provide me. He said “you can do what you have to if you are not willing to accept what I am offering”.

The owner called back a few mins later only to ask why I had tuned the HVAC unit on in the middle of winter. He said that he found it hard to believe that anyone would turn the air conditioning on in the winter.

We have baseboard heating and some rooms would get significantly hotter than others. I have spend 100’s of dollars with the same company and had several parts replaced to rectify this issue. It got really hot one day in February and we turned the Air on as we could not sleep.

Thankfully, I was also able to find some old paperwork from before engel did the work, confirming that the pump and line where never replaced. I plan on filing a suit at the small claims court if engel or Home Depot does not help resolve this issue.

Not a good experience! Six months after installation, I began to have problems with unit and 2 months for them to repair the unit. Have an astronomical bill due to the unit not working and they were supposed to pay the bill and 3 months later bill is not paid! I do not recommend this company to anyone!!!!

Two technicians came and installed a new heating system and thermostat in my house. They were fast, professional, and did an awesome job. The new heater is working great. Very good service.

We had a couple of hot days last week so I saw it as an opportunity to fire up our air before the summer to make sure there were no issues. Lucky that I did because it wouldn’t fire up. I was told about Engel through a friend so I gave them a call to come out and figure out what was wrong. Nick who was our tech discovered we were extremely low on fluids and laid out all of our options for us. We decided to get a whole new unit and system. Today 3 members of their install crew showed up right at 8am to replace the new unit and system, they worked their butts off and were all wrapped up by 2:30pm. Our new system is blasting air, it’s awesome. Highly recommend this extremely efficient and professional team for any of your hvac needs!

Saturday night the capacitor stopped working. Called Engel 6am Sunday there best tech Nick called at8am saying he would be their 45min. It's 11:30am Sunday, a/c working. Today is going to be
the hottest day of the year. GOOD JOB NICK

Engel Air installed my have home unit in 2015... in 2019 we occurred an damaged coil. The coil was ordered and replaced quicker than the time I was told to expect. Their service and professionalism was excellent. June 2020 we had our unit serviced, routine checkup... had the opportunity to meet the owner of Engel Air. Once again it was a excellent and informative service call. I highly recommend Engel Air. From the voice your hear when called to schedule an appointment to the technicians that come to our home, they provide a very satisfying service.

I called Engel on a Monday morning because my air conditioning wasn't working and it was going to be 91° that day. They weren't sure they were going to be able to help me because they weren't sure if they had a bunch of contractor calls over the weekend, but they promised me they would do their best, and I heard from them less than an hour later and they sent someone out just a few hours later that day--actually ahead of schedule. The tech, Tony, immediately recognized the issue (a bad capacitor) checked on the system to make sure there was no other underlying issues and explained everything to me carefully and professionally. Thank you so much! I'll be sure to call you guys again with any issues.

Highly recommend Engel Air Conditioning. Dave came out promptly to give us a very reasonable estimate for a new AC system and gas furnace. The estimate was well below a much bigger company's estimate. He diagnosed the airflow problem quickly in the addition part of our house and offered an affordable solution. His expertise and straightforwardness was evident and it gave us the peace of mind that the job was going to be done correctly. Todd and Danny were extremely professional during the installation process and explained in detail all the work being done and answered all the questions I had. Couldn't be happier with our new system and the professionalism, honesty displayed throughout the whole process. Thank you Dave, Todd, and Danny.

I first bought my A/C and heater a number of years ago when the company was on Castor Ave. The company did a god job.
I had a problem my air conditioner and called when there were new owners and it moved to Street Road. The service people made a big deal and replaced the thermostat, which was totally unnecessary, did something else, and replaced a wire that was in the wall. The A/C worked for a month and then stopped. I called and the woman told me there would be another service charge. Since, I had already paid $700 previously, I said no.
I called a friend's repair person who told me I needed a computer chip. After that was installed, it still did not work because the Engel service person plugged in the wire incorrectly.
I will never use this company again for any reason. It diagnosed my problem improperly and charged a great deal of money.
For what it is worth, the original furnace and heater by Lennox are very good and are still working well after about 20 years.
I am adding to my review based on your comments that said I should have contacted you when the work took place. Had you read my entire comment, you would have seen that I attempted to contact you about a month after the work was done and the air conditioner failed again. The woman who answered the phone said there would be another service charge. I was not going to pay for another service charge and then have your company do more unnecessary work when you already charged me $700 for work that did not even solve the problem. In fact, your company installed the unnecessary wiring improperly. Next time please read and understand the entire post and then respond.

Very courteous and professional, got a very clear explanation of the issues going on as well as what options I had. Once we figured out a plan, they got my new boiler up and running quickly and I am very happy w/ the results. Very good communication and showed up on time, which sometimes can be tough w/ busy contractors. Highly recommended.
